  1. No other way to put it, but they will never admit it out loud.
  2. I would bet that the Nick guy who asked that question is the same Nick that runs tigerboard.com. Gordon's answer is about what you should expect from a former antler.
  3. Nick: Jeff, How long do you really see Rick Majerus staying at SLU? I don't see the guy staying longer than 18 months. With his track record and health concerns, SLU will be searching again in 2009. Jeff Gordon: Yeah, the over-under ought to be two seasons. If he makes things happen -- and holds up physically -- all the big schools will come calling. He can win and he can sell tickets. http://www.stltoday.com/discussions/sports.../LD06010715/all
  4. I appreciate you posting it and didn't mean to sound like I was giving trouble for it. Was just trying to beat some of the sky is falling people thinking this means those two are headed to Illinois.
  5. Is that these kid's play to the audience. This is not only an Illinois newspaper, but the Champaign/Urbana newspaper. When a kid hasn't made up his mind yet all he is going to do is talk good about the coach and the program that is recruiting him. Kids tend to want to make people happy and are not going to tip their hand to a reporter on if the school is the front runner or not. If the kid didn't think highly of both the coach and the school that team wouldn't be among the finalist.
  6. I thought our offense looked better organized and more efficent in 2005-06 than this past season. That should not have been the case with KL and TL having a year of college ball under their belts.
  7. I believe it depends on the kind of tear drop. I think one kind means you killed someone, another kind means you had someone close to you murdered, and another kind means you just lost somebody close. I am not sure on all the specifics.
  8. It is a large group of their fans that think they are better than everyone else. You would think that they have won 10 national titles the way they act. Duke, UK, KU, and UNC fans don't even act like they do. They have problems with every group of fans of teams they play. When everybody feels the same way about you it might not be them that has the problem, it probably is you.

  10. I was just shocked at finding MIT cheerleaders.

  12. Agreeing with and then repeating what BM has just said. I think he thought he could turn being the SLU basher into his thing and now the Majerus hiring has screwed that all up for him. I will never forget when he made the idiot comment that the Bills should have stayed in the CUSA (not an option without football) or joined the OVC if SLU didn't want to join the Valley. The guy really believes the OVC is a better conference than the A-10.
  13. Odds and ends, 5/31 edition By Tom Timmermann 05/31/2007 10:26 am The schedule is almost done. Majerus said they have verbal agreements for two games, then have two more to go. You can expect to see more guarantee, or buy, games than in the past. Cheryl Levick said they’re still looking for a home-and-home series where the return game would be in Chaifetz. Don’t expect opening night at Chaifetz to be against some high-profile team. One, opposing schools don’t want to play those games and two, SLU wants to make sure the first game is one they can win. “We’ll have big games in and around the opener,'’ Levick said, “but whether or not it’s the first isn’t a concern. We’d rather get games we can win and games we can break into the season slower with. The pleasure I’ll have is to have every date open and I can book a team when I want at the time I want. I can’t wait to have control over times.†Also, the first game is probably going to sell out anyway, so why waste a big name school there. Actually, in the first season, there’s a decent chance that every game will sell out, since the season-ticket base will be around 7,000. Levick also insists that Rick Majerus’ arena tweakings haven’t driven the cost of the arena up $20 million. She said he was allowed to look at three areas: Office space, locker room space and conditioning. He had a wall moved in the locker room because he wanted a different configuration than Soderberg did. He had the ceiling raised in the weight room and had it wired for 220 volts to accomodate some equipment and in the film room, he had the floor plan changed so there’s an aisle down the middle and there are tables rather than desks. Majerus told me the architect has been very accomodating on making the changes he has asked for. “Some he can, some he can’t,'’ he said. Majerus was just up in the Detroit area meeting with the family of recruit Barry Eberhardt, who he hadn’t had a chance to meet before. Oh, and Ian Vouyoukas was not invited to the NBA camp in Orlando, but has worked out for some NBA teams. Supposedly he was in Cleveland the other day.

  15. I think any chance Rick gets to get "Saint Louis coach Rick Majerus" in a paper around the country he will take it. It is just builds further name recognition for the program.
  16. Wright and Grant in my opinion. I think both would be great choices.
