  1. Would be surprised if we filled both these unused schollies, and left only 1 open for 2016.
  2. We can be a much better team and still be something like 7-11 in conference, if the conference is much better too.
  3. And Purdue, and Texas, and Washington, and New Mexico, and Georgia Tech, and Wake Forest, and Pitt, and many more. Schools that were very good 10, 15, 20 years ago but have been struggling recently. Great post, nark. When things are good, they'll be good forever. When things aren't good, they'll be bad forever and will never change. I would guess most other fan message boards follow this pattern.
  4. How many players actually say "My teammates suck! The coaches suck! This school sucks! I'm outta here! I'm transferring somewhere better!" How many other programs are beating down the door for a player with this attitude?
  5. Why are you assuming SLU will be "a crappy A-10 team" for the next 3 years?
  6. My mistake. I agree completely. The players should not read this board, and if they do, they shouldn't take a single word of it to heart.
  7. What in the world does this mean? If the players don't want to read some message board about themselves, then they must not care about basketball?
  8. As a SLU/A10 fan, UCLA getting in, Temple left out, and Dayton just barely getting in should deeply alarm you. UCLA played a lot of good teams and lost to almost all of them. If SLU is contending for an at-large bid, their resume would look a lot like Temple's or Dayton's. SLU will never get the opportunity to boost their RPI with losses to Kentucky, Oklahoma, UNC, Gonzaga, and Arizona twice, like UCLA did.
  9. Jolly should be back next year, mainly because Neufeld is unproven and we were so gotdamn bad at the center position last year.
  10. I hear the mountains in California and Arizona are rugged. That's about it.
  11. If Bartley was white, then we would have a white guy who can shoot.
  12. Temple had an RPI of 34. They were left out. Their wins are: Home: 135, 58, 254, 256, 281, 2, 204, 257, 273, 214, 37, 219, 239, 77 Away: 253, 77, 214, 257, 273, 83, 219 Neutral: 101, 83 1-5 vs top 25, 2-8 vs top 50, 7-8 vs top 100. 4 decent wins away from home, and 5 wins against bad teams away from home. Not incredible but should have been in over UCLA. The RPI is flawed because 75% of the formula is what other teams do. Teams like UCLA can play 6 games against the top 18, lose all of 6 of them, end up with a decent RPI, then get invited because of their RPI. But they played Arizona really tough in the Pac 12 tourney (the committee chair seriously said this).
  13. UCLA's wins, by RPI: Home: 325, 124, 321, 111, 314, 157, 234, 59, 95, 20, 116, 133, 27, 126, 169, 207 Away: 207, 59 Neutral: 130, 207 1-7 vs top 25, 2-8 vs top 50, 5-10 vs top 100. Extremely impressive resume, especially the 4 wins away from home all season, and a 33% winning percentage vs top 100 teams.
  14. UCLA and the Pac 12 must have bribed the committee to get in the tournament. That's the only logical explanation for letting them in. But in this game, it was 100% goaltending and a good call.
  15. If he's only shooting in the mid-30s from 3, which he's done this year and last year in the conference season, then what else does he do that makes him so valuable? You're really overrating his ability.
  16. Taj, maybe try watching him play before posting about him. Just a thought.
  17. On his Twitter his profile pic was him hanging on the rim at Chaifetz, and his bio said "Hooper at SLU" or something to that effect. All of that is gone now. Very interesting.
  18. Duquesne's walkons are a rowdy bunch.
  19. Gillmann/Jolly/Yarbrough combined 0 for 9. Would have thought it was worse than that.
  20. Ash should never shoot outside 3 feet
  21. THE BILLIKIDS CANNOT BE STOPPED!!!!!!!!!
