He could have the McDonalds all american roster annually and maybe reach a Sweet 16. The guy has shown for decades he cannot develop players. He has also shown he can't game plan nor adjust. He has to out-talent you for 40 minutes at every position to win.

Exactly. The vast majority of these are private contracts. These goofy estimates are just that - estimates. No collective worth their salt is releasing any sort of pay numbers because it would put them in a really weird spot.

Because they have close to zero relationships in the recruiting world. They don't know the talent level required to compete in their respective conferences because they have zero barometer on that. The low/mid major guys aren't used to having to bootstrap things in the program.

Utah State is a great coaching hire example. I’ll add Sundance Wicks at Green Bay. That program was one of the worst in the country the last 2 years under Bo Ryan’s dumb kid. They finished last year at 361 in Kenpom. They’re currently sitting 10 spots behind SLU at 217.

Chris May should be launched into the same cannon pointed towards the sun for this. Imagine this. A coach gets fired from a job with all the resources you could ever want. He is being paid 2.4-2.6 million a year. He is the definition of mediocre but has a ton of talent. Another AD hires this guy at a lower level with lower resources but pays him the EXACT same dollar amount annually. Now, no one else was bidding against this AD for the services of this coach. Shockingly enough, the coach performs the same - average, but again the new spot has less resources so the floor is lower. The AD gives him an extension with a full buyout for some unknown reason. I mean jesus how bad is Chris May? Who is Ford's agent? I want him to represent me in something.
