  1. Even if he wants to its hard to pad your stats from the pine.
  2. You mean we don't play a power forward who can rebound and hit the outlet. He warms the bench. You can't argue with that. JJ can flat out rebound. Someone has to fill the lanes for an outlet to be throw. We don't run in transition.
  3. I also think he would look good in bils blue. Its hard to pass up those stats and that size.
  4. Did I say anything remotely close to JJ being the anwser to the billiken offense? No. I made one valid observation about the game offensively with regards to JJ maybe being able to knock down some of the shots that VN couldn't. The rest was just an inquiry about wasting the power forward we have riding the pine. Just read the post.
  5. I've been a JJ fan all year. I stopped posting for a while because I was beginning to sound redundant. No dis to Luke, but he was getting over powered and had to resort to fouling. Why no JJ? Yes, our D was awesome the last 9 minutes. However, maybe JJ could have knocked down a couple mid-ranged jumpers instead of VN bricking threes. I know VN did hit a jumper in there somewhere but that's not the point. JJ is a big boy with some skills and is getting 0 developmental time for next year. Hell, he played great against some big time schools this year! What a waste. There must be a major attitude problem. But today, late in the game during a time out, JJ was high 5-in' everyone pumping them up. It doesn't make since. Some ask this on mondays show.
  6. I would like to know about JJ? What is the direct cause of his lack of floor time. He didn't play at all Sat. However, He played major minutes very well agaist Gonzaga, Iowa, and NC. We've all heard they don't see eye to eye. Let's hear about it live on the radio from the horses mouth.
  7. I would rather see JJ and Ian working the high low game. Love TL creating though. It's the only O we had last night.
  8. Its good to hear a couple people who know the correct way to beat a zone. Good Post
  9. I'm sick of stating the same thing. I thought UB was talking match-ups earlier in the week. They start 2 BIG guys down low. TL is stuck with thier 4 getting worked. We get out rebounded. JJ still plays 8 min.? Yes, he got burned bad on one play, but that was a good dime. I don't get it.
  10. Good Post. I agree with everything except Drejaj. Just give him a few more minutes. My main beef is JJ. Let him play!
  11. JJ has played well in all of our big games. He hasn't played in the other games. Patience is not the anwser with JJ, he is a junior. Not much time left with him. Let him play 30 min. for 3 games and see what happens. I don't know what happens in practice, but we need him. I'm afraid if this keeps up we will never know what we had. 8 and 8 game in and game out.
  12. Great game by Kevin. Let's not be so hard on JJ. He played 8 min. It seems if he doesn't knock down his 1st 15 foot jumper he gets benched the rest of the game. This kid has great potential, but has to play to gain the confidence to achieve. If JJ plays 30 min., he gets 8 and 8 a game. I'm glad Tommie took the shot. Like the E. Illinois game, It only took me 3 min to get out of the parking lot.
  13. I do not like the new dude. Not very exciting. At least Guy's pre-game introductions are good.
  14. Freakin' read the post broy. I said from the original post that there are 2 ways to braek the zone. I stated you attack from passing and driving. You said you don't drive which is retarded. I never admitted anything. Its simple basketball. You always have to have the last word even when you are wrong.
  15. That's the point. If two guys are on you, someone's open. Yes, you pass it in and kick it out along with driving in, drawing the defense and kicking it out. That's how how you create favorable match ups. If you're going to break a zone by passing the ball only, good luck agaist Temple. Give it a rest.
  16. How do you think you create open looks against the zone? Yes, passing, but you must penetrate and kick it out. Draw the defenders in and kick it out. I can't believe this is even a question. You just don't pass the ball around and wait for somwone to react slow. Seriously.
  17. "Don't drive against a zone." Coaches are laughing. You know better than this broy.
  18. I never said anything about Polk scoring. My comment was about the consistency of the game and breaking the zone. But, now that you mention it, Polk's best shot has proved to be the stop and pop 15 footer. Polk penetrating the front 2 defenders would have given more open looks for KL and DB, or drawn up defenders for the dump pass to IV or JJ for the easy dunk thus preventing the 25 second pass around session at the top of the key creating a better flow to the game.
  19. "What was polk to do different?" That is easy. Polk or anyone last night needed to penetrate the zone. All we did last night is reverse the ball until the shot clock got to single digits. 2 keys to create shots against a zone: reverse the ball and penetrate. Polk would have pushed the ball more as well. The guys are used to him playing and pushing the ball for 35 min. a game. Zone or no zone, the "flow" was off.
  20. Based on last night, I have to disagree with the changes. You've been wanting tommie at the point since you've been on the board. Well, you got him with a 5 pt, 2 assist, 2 to night. Although I'm glad DB had a chance to shine, the flow seemed a little off without DP. I know it's one game, but I'm not convinced.
  21. The first half last night was one of the most exciting 20 minutes I've seen in a while. It is great to see IV play with such intensity. I did not want to sit down. He is so much better than I thought he could be. People, we have our PF. Yes, JJ makes some mistakes. However, he has looked solid against good teams. With ample minutes, he gives us a consistant 8 and 8. No one we bring in next year is going to give us that as a freshman with our history landing the 4. Tommie is going to be great. Take it to the rack #25! Kevin is growing and will be a key for years to come. Get well Dreja and join in the fun.
  22. We are young. I was pissed at all of the negative Dreja posting preseason. Now it is obvious we miss him. Dreja plays last night, we win. Not a knock on the young guys because I am crzy stoked about next year, but we would have hit a couple more threes and not givin up 10.
  23. I know its way early. However, if we are in the position at the end of the season where we are considered a bubble team, this Iowa game is a must win for the resume.
