  1. -I wish you folks leading this charge on the merchandise expansion all the good fortune necessary to make it happen, I am thinking  that after you have some success what is the reaction by anyone at The U in a position of influence? or does it fall like a tree in the forest that no one hears?  will you need The U to play along since I guess they control licensing? I realize a lot of boxes have to be checked to get to the point of success, but it would be great if your group gets it done on really any scale

-one question, would you sell sweater vests?

    Xavier Pinson to LSU.

Edit: He announced his four finalists last week and LSU wasn't one of them.

-that's funny, I wonder if it is a sign of funny business? although all of us know, Coach Wade wouldn't tread in those waters

PrepHoops agrees that Luke Northweather is trending as a mid-major prospect.

    Luke Northweather (Mid-Mo Elite 17U)
What a show Northweather put on in Louisville!  The 6’9” five man from Missouri was outstanding using his size and skill to dominate on the interior.  The rising senior has an excellent feel for scoring on the block with seals, spins, and power moves.  Soft touch around the hoop.  Finished well through contact and was very physical in the paint.  Like how deep of a position he consistently got on the catch.  Rebounded at a high rate in his area and on the defensive end was a force swatting shots all weekend whether it was other guards or opposing post players.  Low-major and mid-major programs should definitely be on this five man.

-was the competition in Louisville also rated as low- or mid-major?

That’s fantastic! Now if the Athletic Department could capitalize on a fanbase that is clearly passionate and engaged with, I don’t know, some new merchandise licensing that would be appreciated. There is no excuse for SLU not seeking out deals with Homefield. Cash in that engagement and brand equity!

-makes too much sense and you know the reason is because with the 17 other D1 schools that use a Billiken as their mascot we are afraid of getting lost in the shuffle

Sean Miller out at Arizona.  A little surprised.

-I am too, I took from a story from some months ago that administration was backing him in a big way, times change

-that's a great job in need of coach

Just an MBM but also a season ticket holder and I must say I didn't see this coming. I'm not liking the ncaa's new "free agency" anyway. (Not that I have any idea what caused this particular transfer.)

It seems to me, it's gonna be smaller school coaches 'em up, big boys come and get 'em.

-what level of program do you think she could get to and have success? I would think a 43% shooter from 3 is interesting to a lot of schools

Inside Carolina is reporting that the Carolina Board of trustees meeting to discuss Hubert Davis for its Head Coaching position. C.L. Brown and others confirm its a done deal formality for Hubert Davis.

-will be interesting to see if Hubert has 'it'

Not surprised.  You knew it had to happen.  Most of the stuff written above sounds good.  Except Ford mismanaging him.  I agree with all those who questioned which DJ would show up from game to game.  I thought he had tons of talent but was just wildly inconsistent.  Maybe that's on Ford, maybe on Jacobs.  I don't think his style and talents fit Ford's bully ball direction.  My unfortunate memory of DJ will be him losing Crutcher at Chaifetz two years ago so Crutcher could make the three to beat us in OT.  Unfortunately, you remember the bad.

-you remember the bad, I remember the made 3's, nice dunks and from all accounts a good teammate

The plan was to get TyTy and Pettiford with Mckissic as a back up plan.  The writing was on the wall when he tried to commit last week and was told to hold on.

-McKissic tried to commit to KU and was told, in essence, not so fast? I missed this part of the saga

Kruger is one of the best coaches of the last 40 years. Took four different programs to the the Sweet 16, 3 of those to the Elite 8 and two to the Final Four.  As a player he won BIg 8 conference player of the year and played in two Elite Eights.

-and seems like a good guy

Did a little digging into Mason Madsen, one of the players SLU has reached out to.

He's leaving UC after a freshman season in which he played 15 games after missing the first 8 with injury. He's a shooter but never found his rhythm in the shortened season, going 19-59 from 3 (32.2%) and slightly better from 2. Good size and length (6-4, 190).

He's from the Twin Cities area, where his dad coached him and his twin brother, Gabe, who is also a freshman leaving UC as a transfer. Gabe played the first two games and opted out of the rest of the season for COVID/mental health concerns. It's unclear to me at this point whether they're looking to land somewhere together or going their separate ways.

Mason has also heard from New Mexico, SIUC, Cal Poly, Toledo, UNI, and others. The last three recruited him out of HS, as well. He chose UC over Xavier, Marquette, Minnesota, Iowa, Iowa State, Northwestern, Missouri State, Colorado State, Bradley, and more. I'm not sure which ones were prioritizing him or who it came down to as finalists.

He shot 41% from 3 and 92% from the FT line as a HS senior, so the touch is there, and he scored over 2,000 points in HS. Gabe actually scored 300+ more points overall and averaged more than Mason each year. He's an inch taller, too.

The Madsen brothers are among 6 transfers leaving UC this season, as it seems some of the players were fed up with John Brannen. Didn't click for them at UC but they could be very good players somewhere else for four years.

-so these two would have 4 yrs remaining? they are intriguing
