-cheesy - do you think he stays or goes?

-from kshoe - So we beat BC. We also lost to crappy teams like SIU and Detroit. We were 7-0 in non-conference "buy" games and 2-5 in non-buy games. The numbers speak for themselves. -- your belief and the reality of the numbers don't seem to jive -you can get rid of the sanctimony at any point -winning is the best method i know of to increase attendance

-i understand for those that have not signed, but the article also talks about him taking 2 current memphis players to uk

Coach Majerus, I hope you redeem yourself next year...

-UB took what he could get in the late signing period on the recruiting front -
-i was not talking about getting an ncaa berth when i made that comment above. - don't you have to look at the impact on the total program of all decisions? so if we are out there losing in "good loss" games how is that going to attract the average fan to put their butt in a seat? -- -if you are not talking about an ncaa birth why do you care about the rpi hits? -imo there is an art to closure-- writing the end of a song, a play, a movie, getting a save in baseball, hitting the wall in swimming, winning the 5th set in vball as coach kordes mentioned in the latest slu magazine, etc and also winning bball games so i say get that experience, generate some wins, get some avg fans to come to games, pay our bills in the short and long term

-isn't there a 5 year "clock" that starts ticking when you enter an ncaa school that says you have to complete your eligibility before the clock hits zero? -exceptions being medical redshirt and i guess mormon missions and maybe some others -so let's say for the moment josh wants to xfer out of uk, since he never enrolled at WILL did his clock start ticking when he enrolled at uk? -or is my understanding way off here?
-
-according to this, and this is from a student newspaper, Cal is taking his entire staff and 2 players to UK -can Cal get in trouble if he goes to current Memphis players and tells them to go with him to UK? -i would guess he would have to resign from memphis, be an employee of no one, talk to the players before he ever signed anything with UK for this to be even close to within ncaa standards, but this is just a guess

-can you let me know how you define a good loss, bad loss, good win and bad win? I am guessing if there are good losses there must the other three as well. -by the time today's d-1 kids get to school they have been through tougher games and situations than the likes of boston college via aau and high level high school games. -----do you really mean this? how much of that experience did Willie, Kyle or Brett get during the 2007-08 season?
-
-we lost to kent st the game before bc thus proving what? -we lost to lasalle in our last conf game thus proving what? -i guess a team laden with frosh should know going in what it is like to play college bball on slu's level
-
edited -your contention that we could have lost a couple of more games and still been over 500 is certainly correct given our record, very nice -you say rick was protecting his record -i say rick was protecting his players and the growth of the program -there is a big difference between the two
-
-money can't buy happiness but it can sure help -wasn't it at a fedex location where the package of money "burst" open that got eddie sutton in trouble?
-
-and next season's will probably look much the same
-
-and his wife seems like a nice person and she is quite attractive
-
-is the KY as attractive as it used to be? -first, ashley judd is a few years older -second, they just fired a guy that won 22 games, i guess 20 in season games -they can throw a bunch of money someone's way and it is KY with the history but also the obvious expectations -is KY that much better a job than FL or OKST to go through that wringer?

-how many times do we need to go through this?????? -rick was hired AFTER national signing day, so basically no recruits the first year (if you want to blame someone for this blame his boss, FrB, not rick, but i am not blaming anyone as we ended up with rick) -so while he just coached his 2nd season, next season is his 2nd season with his recruits -there are a couple of schools of thought on this board, but i am of the school that next season is a season of growth and then in 2010-11 if all healthy we are a tourney team or damn close to it -but as i said others have a different view -please name me 3 coaches that signed 3 year contracts at new schools, thanks -
-as usually happens....jimbo to the rescue!!! -that Utah State girl has some pepper about her!!!!
-
-imo the format of this board is fantastic....THANKS STEVE -btw...are we bucking up again soon??

OT sort of: UConn shockingly in trouble
Cowboy replied to kwyjibo's topic in Billikens.com Main Board
-that college of s idaho seems to be in the light and rarely is it good -over 2 calls or text messages a day for 2 years -i wonder if griffster is still around to comment as if 10 schools are recruiting a kid how does the kid ever get free or homework or date time?? -it sure seems uconn broke the rules, throw the book at them imo -
-he was recruited by UB and his staff so don't know a connection to the current staff although Porter may have something
-
-in rick i trust......at this point
-
-i would be prepared to pay for the first round game with the season tickets as it makes sense logistically to charge everyone for it, distribute the ticket with the season tix and if the game does not happen apply the money as a deposit to next year's renewal -some won't like it, but probably the best way for the U to handle it as i see it now unless there is another plan out there
-
-sekue barantine had a good preseason game so i think basing an opnion on a preseason game comes with limitations -they maybe the same "player" but not the same piece to the program as one redshirted, drew consistent praise from rick on everything the last 1/3 of the season, is supposed to be in the gym shooting 500 shots from a chair (while the knee heals) to improve the shot (think tommie) -obviously rick did not thnk they are the same player or AMitchell did not think he fit with rick so he left
-
-i think X and Fordham had a pretty good idea this year for some time -develop a better program to win games to be assured a top 4 seed
