  1. Crews subs have been A+ caliber down the stretch. Come on D!!!
  2. This would be such a great win to pull out. Our guards will be fine...I like miles and roby. Milik can't go to the bench the rest of the way
  3. This is amazing. Sometimes I only think it is 30-40 core members on this site that actually care about us being a terrible basketball team. Crews can obviously avoid logging in to billikens.com to hear our MBM woes. The UNews is a great outlet to actually send a message in. The students arent happy Jimmy... I do not remember any "whispers" around campus when Soderberg was in the middle of his 9 win campaign. Glad to hear people seem to have a little higher standard for Billiken Basketball these days. The past 4-5 games have been coached as haphazardly as a preseason scrimmage and Crews needs to know that we will not accept a return to the Soderberg years. Checking to see if combinations "work" is acceptable in the first half of the non conference season, NOT IN LATE FEBRUARY. Not sure you read the board, but if you do....Great article Lexi.
  4. Against VCU, he made a drastic change in his footwork which improved his ability immediately. Rather than step up to Alie-Cox when he caught it, AG immediately performed a drop step to protect against the drive. This caused Alie-Cox to drive and run right into Gillman's chest. The announcer then complimented Gillman on his positioning and Alie Cox was forced to kick it back out. So for those MBMs looking for tangible progress, I would offer that up. That is exactly what Rob Loe would do which turned him into an excellent defender his Senior year.
  5. RA at the 5 is not the answer for this team even though AG and BJ struggle. At this point, we just have to keep trotting them out there for experience purposes.
  6. GMU win? That was a terrible, horrible loss...lol
  7. How is this for a clean house situation (assuming Ash and AM are on schedule to graduate) Ash and AM go be 5th year transfers to Manhattan and UC-Irvine respectively. Lancona finds a better landing spot. Three scholarships open up. Starting 5 for next year is MR, DR, MY, RA, AG. Is anyone really looking forward to Ash and McBroom contributing major mins as seniors? It kind of seems like a John Manning throwaway situation...
  8. I feel like I am suffering like a good billiken should after 3 straight years of NCAA tournies
  9. MY didn't box out. Then crews got pissed and pulled him. That's what happened
  10. I just have the feeling that everything that we do well is luck and all their good plays are skill
  11. There is really no rotation available on this current roster that is going to "succeed" tonight. If Crews plays Crawford 30 mins and AM zero mins, it is not indicative that Crews is clueless. There are way too many variables going on with this team to assume we can judge "what makes sense". The only thing that "makes sense" is Manning not getting significant mins. But if he does, I want some reporter to take the bullet and ask something like.... "With this season lost, Is there a reason why Manning keeps seeing floor time?"
  12. WV billiken...that is a very interesting thought. Can anyone confirm that this is a possibility? I wouldn't mind it.
  13. The initial post has been up for a few days and there has not been one legitimate rebuttal to your well-thought postulation. While I agree with you...I will still attempt to put on the rose-colored glasses.. I think our guards have shown flashes of being very good. Right now, I think our guards are battling tough with some of the best guards in the conference. Roby in particular. Roby really has not been outplayed and has blown by his man multiple times this season. I think Miles has the raw tools along with Bartley but they just need to get physically stronger and stronger with the ball. Ash will provide a steadying force next year as a Senior as well. The problem is the absolute absence of ANYONE in the interior providing impact. Frankly, I think it is in the danger zone territory for program health and something drastic must be done. I would like us to do something really uncharacteristic, which may be viewed as desperate. Find a 5th year grad student who doesnt even need to be talented offensively but just provides muscle. Some 9th man on San Diego St who is 6'9 and can just give this team a semblance of an inside presence. If Crews thinks that next year will be different with Gillman/Jolly as Sophomores and RA as a junior, I think we are in for another sub 15 win season. We need someone to come in (not a freshman) who can try to give some kind of inside presence to this team...
