Non conference schedule just posted
SIUSalukis replied to eskimo's topic in Billikens.com Main Board
Your welcome for providing your second highest RPI ranked team during non-conference!:-) J/K Anyways, if you get to play at Hawaii next year, it doesn't count as one of the maximum number of games you can play. The NCAA feels that with the travel out there, teams should be compensated in some way. You would think that just going to Hawaii would be compensation enough! -
Not a good listing in my opinion. Tabb is nowhere to be found and by all other accounts and recruiting circles, Tabb is easily a top 100 recruit.

What's the scoop on this guy? He is any good?

Slaten just called Brad Soderberg a liar

Just a correction, Kitchen is headed to Florida. Dominic James verbaled to Marquette. -
Nick Rogers from Indiana has already verbaled to SIU.

Does anybody know if there are any potential D1 recruits that play for this AAU squad. I am headed to Indiana this weekend and I saw that they are playing this tourney. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

donta smith jumps to the draft as well
SIUSalukis replied to billiken_roy's topic in Billikens.com Main Board
Donta played at Southeastern IL CC , not SWIC. -
Anyone hear the whole KMOX interview w/ Brad?
SIUSalukis replied to bonwich's topic in Billikens.com Main Board
I'm sure Brad was not talking about Lisch. Coaches can't comment about recruits until they have signed a LOI. -
Frank Rusnak's Illinois HighSchooElite Team
SIUSalukis replied to davidlee's topic in Billikens.com Main Board
Hmm.... No Matt Shaw. No Brandon Lee(Northwestern). Frank must have hit his head and forgot these two second team, if not better players. -
"What would you say to Kevin Lisch"
SIUSalukis replied to mystery_man's topic in Billikens.com Main Board
Kevin, you should go ahead and pick SLU. Especially because SIU doesn't need you anymore now that we have Tabb.:-) Just kidding everyone, I just couldn't resist! -

http://mb11.theinsiders.com/fillinoisinsid...cID=21671.topic Anyone hear this too? I hope it's not true for SLU's sake.

Thanks for the kind words about Shaw and our program. This train isn't going to stop despite losing two big 10 coaches in two years. We are trying to make history for SIU and mid-major basketball in general. I really think that Soderberg is bringing in some very good recruits with this years class. I expect the Bills to turn the corner this year and make it to the big dance. GOOD LUCK!!! (except when you come to the SIU Arena of course)
-
Well first off, Painter won't have a staff to assemble/disassemble this year because Keady is still around. Next year, I would assume that Painter will keep most of the same staff there at Purdue because we will have had worked w/ them for a season. I think Shaw will stay at SIU. I highly doubt that Painter would try to lure Shaw to Purdue. Taking a better job with a lot more benefits is one thing, taking your former recruits with you is just unacceptable.
-
I wouldn't call it luck. Coach Painter is a great basketball mind and a great guy. Most SIU fans wish him all the best at Purdue. Rumor has it that the new SIU coach will Illini assistant Chris Lowry.

Ilinois may play at Ed Dome - doubleheader for SLU?
SIUSalukis replied to Billiken Law's topic in Billikens.com Main Board
>Lets have IL play IL State in Carbondale - feel the same >way? That's fine with me! Having DI schools come to your town and play, it would be fun! What's the problem, are SLU fans afraid that the non-existent spotlight would be taken off them for one night? -

Why do you folks care if non SLU games are played in St. Louis? There is no effect on SLU whatsoever. If anything, it just helps the STL economy. -

Coach Weber stated during his final year at SIU, that he tried to set up a two year contract w/ Mizzou. One in St. Louis, the other in Columbia. Needless to say Mizzou wouldn't do it. Maybe Weber remembers how he felt when he tried to schedule for SIU. To be perfectly honest, playing SIU this year wouldn't hurt a team. Our RPI was in the 20's for most of the year. -
I was at the game. I'm not sure why Shaw didn't play, his pic was even on the poster. Polk is VERY good.
-
Definately, Painter is too young for Purdue. I also don't think he is that good of a coach. :-)
-
I heard that there is some sort of all star game which puts STL players vs. metro east players. Does anyone have the info/rosters for this game?
-
Oh baby, better be ready!!!!! Now the whole country will know who St. Louis' own Darren Brooks is.
