  1. This tourney should produce several good games, as I see seeds 2-8 capable of beating anyone and losing to anyone. Agreed the 2 or 3 seed is def what I would be looking to get. What seed does everyone think GW will get. I cannot see higher than a #3 due to a very weak out of conference schedule and the A-10 not being as tough as most yrs. Could the GW coach be up for a higher profile job after this year?
  2. Temple also is offensively challenged. I remember seeing one of the ugliest games this yr when they went to UMASS and laid a 36 point performance. Like every year, tough defense with their matchup zone, always have athletic guys, I would def bet the under in this game. How does the A-10 tourney work? Does everyone make it? What seeds get byes?
  3. Plus Temple has beaten Maryland a top 20 team with quality wins in the ACC, I am sure that has a lot to do with it.
  4. Has Husak been that bad or inconsistent not to be on the floor for 8-10/mins a game. Seems to me he could free up Ian and more imporantly be a factor on the o-boards especially since we are chuckin up 15-20 three pointers a game. Only way this kid is going to improve is if he sees some action at some point. I don't see how he can't get into games prior to media timeouts and spell LM/DB/Ian for a few minutes.
  5. As much as we will be questioning the refs, what did you really expect. Part of the deal when big schools play mid majors is the use of their conference refs, see AZ a few years ago. Have to compliment the overall effort. I have yet to see a Bills game live, I have to believe this is their best game yet. Lisch and Liddell did not look like freshman. Until the final minutes, Tommie had very few isolation plays, with his athletic ability and playmaking abilites I have to question why Brad did not call for those more often. Offense ran a lot smoother with Lisch at point, erspecially mid first half. Drejaj played hard and made some key 3s, but too many dumb passes, he needs to know better with his experience. Way too many shots for JJ, he needs to know his game and more importantly know his shot selection. You have to be encouraged about the future after watching 21 and 25 do there thing tonight.
  6. How many points did Tommie have in the second half? According to the posts for the second half, did not read his name much. One would think you would feed the hot hand the ball? Didn't hear much out of Lisch as well...main thing is the team needs to improve steadily as the season goes to build a foundation for the young guys confidence. Could get real ugly in Chapel Hill is my fear, UNC looked stout in Lexington today.
  7. Hey posters, long time no posting for me. Seems like another typical season in BillikenWorld, slow start followed by a late season surge. I have a question concerning the Bills record under Sodaberg. W/L% from Jan-March W/L% from Nov-Dec
  8. The Ticket in Dallas is horrendous...about 90% of their act is nonsense, grego and rhino the hardliners are only knowledgable on the Cowboys and thats about it, they are completely worthless for any other sports news or opinions.
  9. I am in NW OKC, but I am responsible for all of OK
  10. Hey all, I haven't posted in a while, got a new job in Oklahoma, big news here OUs DeAngelo Alexander is transferring, he was a McD All American few years ago, played HS ball with Dukes Shelden Williams, he says he will have a decision in a few weeks. Has there been any hints of landing a transfer in Billiken land...seems like there are quite a few players lookin to transfer.
  11. Another NIT season, another Big 10 opponent...the mighty hawkeyes come to st chuck
  12. You have to start to wonder why Coach Sodaberg doesnt get more pub for coach of the year, I can assure you no team at the beginning of this tourney wanted to play us. The defensive intensity that we have brought these last two nights will be hard for any offensively talented team to break down. In other news: with ND losing tonight in Big East tourney action, that would make one helluva NIT matchup.
  13. Coach Watkins was able to land some high profile recruits during this tenure in College Station, but they underperformed mightly this year, they finished behind Baylor, not even winning a conference game this year. Antoine Wright was a major disappointed for the Ags. With the new facilities and the amount of money they pay to coaches, they should be able to land a big name.
  14. Who all has been playing well for the Bills? Anyone in foul trouble for either squad? Any indication of the crowd size or loudness?
  15. If anyone can inform me of where this JUCO player plays currently I will look into it..did someone have his name as well? As far as Lisch, I have read all about his outstanding talents he has, but what are some of his drawbacks, it sounds like maybe his physcial traits, not exactly a prototypical wing for D-1? Just curious since all I have heard is Purdue and ND are the only other big time programs in on him.
  16. I would be interested to see how many teams come March who make this list play in the tourney..opposed to how many teams who lead the nation in team offense make the tourney...as we all know good scoring and shooting can go in slumps...but good defense and hustle never go in slumps.
  17. I saw Ian yesterday at TCU. He does well passing out of the post as do all our post players IMO. But Ian brings down the ball too fast allowing smaller defenders a chance to create a turnover. He looks like he has problems with physical defenders and physical play. He did not attempt a shot in the game, so I cannot comment on that. He looks like he moves well and can play on the fast break since he can move well...so that looks promising with Polk and Tommmie joining him next season. But the jury is still out on him.
  18. While this may have been the quickest game I have been to in a long time a few things really stood out seeing this team live for the first time this season. Our big men seem to pass out of the post extremely well. Ian had some problems when the defense collapsed and he brought the ball down too low and gave the TCU defenders a shot to create a turnover. Tom was much better than I anticipated I came away impressed...I believe he is an upgrade over Kenny Brown who I saw for 2 yrs...Tom is further along in development as a Jr as Kenny was. I was concerned that numerous times during the second half Tom was noticably tired and in pain, I am presuming this is the asthma condition, but this could be a potential problem late in games when we need his post play against tougher opponents. Josh made some very tough rebounds tonight late in the 2nd half when Tom was not in the ball game, however I think Josh could have exposed TCU with a better transition game since TCU was so slow to get back on the defensive side. I think Josh is about as solid and has a very well rounded game as any guard in America...he does everything above average in every facet of the game in my opinion. Drejaj looked like old self hitting timely 3s and playing tough defense on the perimeter. Izik was as aggressive as I have ever seen more so than ever last season attacking the rim using his exceptional ballhandling skills to exploit slower big men. TCU is a bad team, so this was a must win regardless if it was on the road, these are teams good teams handle and put away and don't let them hang around all game. How many times will it be said by opposing coaches and media-types "SLU played the toughest defense against us than any other team". The count has to be to at leas 4 times this year. Lets see if we can keep this winning streak alive against a much more formidable opponent.
  19. I was curious how many ppl will be attending the game next week? I know I am goin monday to pick up tickets at TCU...hopefully close enough to Mr Ramsey to ask his opinion on the alignment of the planets:) From the little press TCU gets here in the metroplex...expect TCU to be very athletic and play with lots of energy at Daniel Meyer...it won't be a gimme...but a loss would not look good for our NCAA tourney profile.
  20. Ricky has a tremendous vocab...his quotes alone make this a great article
  21. I recently received an invitation to some function being held before the game for the price of $25 included tix and pregame food...anyone else get this flyer in the mail?
  22. Jimmy Dykes was very complimentary of Sodaberg throughout the game, they hyped Josh a ton along with Sloan. Bob Carpetner said this was the most athletic Bills team he has seen in a long time. Dykes sure was very impressed with the Bills from the time I watched the game. I was very very disappointed with the crowd, unbelievable how this game did not sell more tickets. Reggie seemed a lot bigger and taller than I remember him last year siting on ther bench but boy can he stroke the outside jumper. At the beginning of the telecast Carpetner commented on landing 3 recruits from the area (3 of the best in STL) so I thought that was a nice compliment to the staff. Our time and "luck" will change, I have absolutely no doubt about where this program is headed.
  23. BlueCrew...JCP class of '99..I just graduated from SLU this past May. Football will all they can handle this next season in football...Wunderlick will be humbled many a time...basketball and soccer should be able to compete right away...baseball might be the worst of it...Southlake was nationally ranked and didn't even win district last year with Flower Mound takin honors let alone Coppell being a top ranked team year in year out... Skip I will do my best to post the score...(www.dallasnews.com) is a pretty good source for keeping up with scores here in the metroplex. Southlake actually plays the Arlington Colts tonight can could be a close game according to some ppl here in town.
