Band please read what I said. I acknowledge that Brad did a bad job of recruiting. However Rick left the team with no options by getting rid of the rest of the players. None of the players were an answer to a maidens but Knollmeyer and Relephorde would be getting some minutes with the team in it's present state. Not as starters but some bench depth.
The only reason Kevin and Tommie may not be living up to the expectations of others is that there is no junior or sophmore class.
The fault is with the Majerus and Soderberg. The first got rid of players and the other didn't get the players that could help them.
The net result is that freshmen are the only option and in D1 that is a huge problem no matter how good they are. Let's just be glad we have a Kevin and Tommie that are good players and men. I'll take them with any of their perceived warts instead of some of the knuckleheads you see playing on some teams.
Has there been any update on Kevin and Paul's condition? Are they out for sure or is there a chance either or both will be available.
Without both of them we're down to a seven man rotation.
I was at the women's game yesterday and there was some questioning by the officals about the clock.
By the way I implore you to see the women play. They play hard and T. Lisch might be the best player male or female to wear Billiken Blue.
Can anyone remember a busier sports weekend at S.L.U. than the one facing us. A men's basketball game on saturday, woman's hoops on sunday, men's soccer on friday and the A-10 Volleyball tournament.
This is truly Nirvana for Billiken sports fans!
If we play a preseason game with a local team wouldn't the current D-III national champions at Washington U. be the most attractive opponent?
Some on the board may remember that we opened the refurbished Francis Field House against the "Battling Bears." It was Monroe and Roland's first game as Billikens.
No slam on Harris Stowe or U.M.S.L. but Wash U. has a much better tradition then either of them.
Does anyone have an idea when the schedule will in fact be announced? This piecing it together is great mental exercise but it has begun to get tedious.
Thicks, Niemann was a star for Bishop Dubourg. His wife is Julie Niemann the financial expert that you see on various television stations. I think Rich coached the Billiken woman's team in some capacity for awhile. Possibly with John O"Brien.
It's also amazing to see how many points Kevin Footes scored in so little playing time. He had a world of talent but was a huge knucklehead.
According to the Dayton message board here are some of our conference opponents.
