  1. I have the URI crud probably flu and feel awful. Our Bills will make me feel a little better with a win tonight and this game is there for the taking. I hope we can shake Reggie for some good looks and some baskets.
  2. I hate to admit it but I saw him play in the NBA for the Cincy Royals and he was a pretty decent player. If memory serves me right he did play while Oscar Robertson played for the Royals. I used to have a friend who was a Dayton Alum and a huge Flyer fan. He went to school with Don Donoher former UD HC and Chuck Knoll the former great HC for the SB Steelers. I went to a Flyer game with my friend and the UD Arena is a nice venue.
  3. Wow! I did not realize there would be that much difference and the home team is the slow one in this case.
  4. Commenting how ugly the 1st half has been. Ross just made a 3 and we lead 19-17.
  5. Dayton just stole ball and took the lead.
  6. Thicks, Are you watching on the tube? I am listening to the Dayton broadcast and it must be on tape delay because you had Sloan hitting both throws before the dudes from Dayton had him making the first one. Sounds like out defense if frustrating Dayton and we are outrebounding them too. I would like to see Reggie get hot.
  7. Nope I'm listening to the Dayton feed with no problem at all. It is at 1290whio.com/listen.
  8. I don't know if this is being shown in St. Louis but early going we don't seem to have anything going on offense...11-4 Dayton with 11 and change. Reggie shut out so far.
  9. For any other out of towners, I have tuned into the Dayton broadcast on Whio...1290whio.com/listen. I thought the game started at 6 but I suppose that was Midwest time...pregame going on now. Dayton had a win over Wofford on Monday night.
  10. jjray, I'd also really like to see JJ get minutes, as I think his upside is really strong. However, it is a coaching decision and while it is certainly fine to question Coach Soderberg, bottom line it won't change his mind. Several have preached some patience with the two Frosh, JJ and DC. Rather than get an ulcer over it, that is probably the best advice right now. I mean there are a lot of ways this can go for the players. Two of several possibilities are they can buy into the system and practice like maniacs and gradually see meaningful minutes, or they can get so frustrated with the coaches that they never improve and perhaps they could even ask to leave. Hopefully, the former will be the course they take rather than the latter. We could use both of their athletcism, but first, they must meet Coach Soderberg's demands.
  11. SPUMAC has a slimy HC who cheats and SLU has one that plays by the rules, so they are on different planets. Hey, I guess Bullit Bob is right on.
  12. How to heat the creek, we could field a heckuva indoor swimming team.
  13. The Little 12 must be very proud tonight...LMAO!!!
  14. A race...since when did they start playing basketball. I guess the grease ball Snyder better put more money in those boys envelopes. Obviously, they must feel that they are underpaid. The thing that gets me to LMAO is reading BM's PressBox and the MooFan pukes who write about everything will be fine in March. Keep losing to the likes of Belmont and they'll be lucky to get a NIT invite. Say goddbye to the Top 25 SPUMAC.
  15. I really enjoyed watching his Dad Jesse the Ghost play for the Billikens and it would be nice to see his son in a Billiken Blue & White Uni. Have any SLU coaches showed up to watch the young Master Leonard play yet?
  16. It would change real nice if we pull out two more non-conference wins before getting into the CUSA schedule. Let's Go Bills...we need these games!!!
  17. The mere fact that Coach Soderberg did not give JJ minutes at garbage time in an obvious blowout Saturday night says to me that JJ is still in Coach's doghouse. I mean the only other logical explanation would have been that he was either sick or too injured.
  18. Yea, but they have an even bigger problem at QB than the Rams in Qunicy Carter. I like Carolina in that game with the home cooking. I also like the Pack over the Seahawks which would set up a Panthers VS Rams and Pack VS Eagles Semi in the NFC.
  19. Blowouts in the parity stricken NFL are few and far between. IMHO there is so much parity that playoff teams can be beaten by the alsorans if they don't bring at least a solid "B" game. I did not see yesterday's game and have seen about half the Rams games. I got cheap when I moved down here from Seattle and I did not purchase a dish. I had the NFL package the year the Rams won the SB and that was sweet. Now I have to visit the local sports watering hole to watch Rams games, and that is just not always in the cards. My main concerns going into the playoffs are Bulger, Bulger, and Bulger. If he can get decent protection and doesn't beat us with dumb picks then it will be up to the defense to hold their end of the bargain. Frankly, in the games I did watch where L. Little was playing, I liked the way the Rams "D" played. Philly's defense did not look very good against the 49er's and they are susceptible to being beat by a good run team...like the Packers. It will be interesting how it unfolds, but I'll maintain that Bulger is our main worry going into the SB Tourney.
  20. And got a split on the road which is usually the formula that most people prefer. I already said that some of the wins on the road were ugly, but some fans aren't happy unless the scores are lopsided and heck there is another team out on the field trying their darndest to win too. Like I said before last year's SB Champ had the formula down pat for winning ugly. I'm anxious to see how the games play out, and if Bulger can withstand playoff pressure.
  21. Not being used at all Saturday in a blowout game sure may mean that Coach is still trying to use the tough love approach on JJ. I hope that it does finally work because this kid's upside is better than anyone currently getting minutes. Now if he does not respond to the coaching this year then our need at recruiting a stud 4 will be even greater.
  22. I'm hoping that we go 2 for 2 on those 2004 SLU related items.
  23. Gee the stars must be alligned differently the last couple nights because I find myself agreeing with my friend Thicks for the 2nd stratight night. No question that the AFC has more quality teams than the NFC, and losing today to the Lions today with something that should have been worth playing for is inexcusable. The Rams did finish tied for the best record in the NFC at 12-4 so they did do some things pretty darn good along the way. I'd even agree with the notion that we won some of those 12 games ugly, but heck, I saw the local team here in Tampa make a living out of winning ugly last year...all the way to a SB too. I'm sure hoping that this was a one game blip, but we will only go as far as Bulger will take us and no one knows how he will stand up to playoff pressure. I won't be jumping off either the bandwagon or the Sunshine Skyway Bridge this evening over this loss.
  24. John, You read the thread where another Bernie poster and I were venting. I must admit to being miffed that I cannot pick up my home team feed for SLU without getting into my wallet. I tend to believe the guy that I happened to be venting with...mainly, the reason that the internet feed isn't free may have something to do with the games being on KMOX. Frankly, I only think it pretty bad that out of towners cannot listen to their favorite team on the net for free. Last night I was fortunate to find an out of town feed...many nights that isn't the case. Trust me, it's a lot more enjoyable listening to Ramsey and Earl than some hoosiers from Indy.
  25. Not sure who started last night as I did not listen until the 2nd half...assume Tom F, Reggie, AD, Fish, and Chris? I would see Ian as a primary sub for Tom...JJ has to get his minutes as sub for Chris and he is going to have to beat out Ross if he wants the lion share of those minutes. It will be interesting to see how this plays out as the season goes on. No question in my mind of JJ's upside. I still don't believe it was a question of Clarke VS Ahearn but instead Morris VS Ahearn...becasue of that any talk of Ahearn not being a Billiken is pretty much of a dead issue with me...time to move on and develop the talent we have.
