  1. but you are still a jerk. Jmolina often brings interesting stuff to the board. I'd like that to continue.
  2. He's a hell of a nice guy but he seems to have maybe lost hope for anything better for the baseball bills. When I've talked to him in the past he's seemed resigned to his fate. I don't know the program at all or how tough the scholarship problem is but even if it is hopeless the coach ought to be more upbeat about it.....
  3. Sorry bubba but that big a disgrace isn't erased in one season. It'll go away when Quin does, assuming the Tigers don't hire someone like Calipari......
  4. Not really offensive (to me) though almost Victorian age values........
  5. It'll be YEARS before anyone hears Missouri arena and doesn't think of Paige...
  6. Yes a .500 record then an NIT loss is something to be proud of. I'd have wished the Billikens could have had a better record than even that! (but not at the expense of having Mi$$ouri's rep) Also, how quickly we forget the Paige Laurie fun. We sure don't have an arena yet but when we do it won't be the laughing stock of the entire NCAA. We can talk records all you like but that isn't the story of this season for Mi$$ou is it?
  7. That Slu didn't cheat???? No one is happy with SLU's record (except you) but don't even think about bringing your on probation one and done not in tournament self here to talk smack. You're in quick sand, you're a ho, and you're boxing Mike Tyson.........
  8. Those were the good old days (and episodes.) Kirsty Alley (or however you spell that whining maggot's name) made that show as appealing as a frontal lobotomy.
  9. Sorry but man, not god or evil spirits, is responsible for our record. If it makes you feel better, by all means.......
  10. No offense to those donating or Slu for that matter but A $2500 to $5000 PSl for the lower bowl seats I have now mean I walk away from this sport entirely. I don't believe that SLU can afford to be quite that thick headed. If you want to turn 9000 season ticket holders into 3000 season ticket holders, that is the way. With all due respect to Cheryl and still with hopes of an on campus palace for Basketball, I'll forgo having a brick or a drinking fountain or a locker, until I see what the damage is just to see the goddamn games.
  11. I'm not talking about the board dying just slowing down to a trickle. There have been years that I only needed to check the board weekly instead of hourly. I'll admit that perhaps the board traffic at 430pm on a Friday night might not be the best time to gauge the future.....
  12. It's March and we aren't dancing and there's no new recruiting info to bandy about. This board will dry up and the other board won't get more active without an election to stir the pot. Have a good spring and summer. Talk to you during the fall signing period. Rich
  13. I'll admit that there may have been a trace of nose rubbing in the post you referenced, though I do not revel in the Billikens losing at any sport. I do draw a distinction between Slu's teams and soccer as a sport. We'll have to agree to disagree on the sport of soccer while supporting the Billikens in general.
  14. >>Hey thanks For rubbing our noses in it! Guess what???? >>Soccer is still a bore to watch (and you make it extremely >>difficult not to bash the soccer bills which I have tried >>not to do.) > >Rich, you are kidding right? How soon we forget... : > >November 17, 2004 >"What's up soccer fans?????????" > > From Tom Timmerman's story in the post: >"As expected, the Billikens, who finished 9-8-1 after losing >to Memphis in the semifinals of the Conference USA >tournament Saturday, did not receive an NCAA bid, ending a >seven-year streak. It's just the fourth time in the >program's 46-year history that it did not qualify for the >NCAA Tournament." > > >It always sucks to be a soccer fan (unless you're living in >"old Europe" or some third world hellhole) but this is >particularly ugly. > >My sincerest condolences. >Rich > >I guess it really sucks to be a Billken Basketball fan based >on your assessment. And "Particularly ugly"? I would say >9-21 is "particularly ugly". >GS My condolences were indeed sincere and the thread that followed was among the more interesting soccer threads on this board, discussing what went wrong. I also did not blast the soccer billiken faithful as delusional or personally attack anyone. 9-21 is particularly ugly as well. Good point! (the preceeding is sarcasm) I don't think anyone was happy with either season. If you are trying to win friends and influence people, you are the delusional one my friend.
  15. Hey thanks For rubbing our noses in it! Guess what???? Soccer is still a bore to watch (and you make it extremely difficult not to bash the soccer bills which I have tried not to do.)
  16. Last word I heard (on this board, which may not reflect reality) Tommie still needed an ACT score, along with his course work at hargrave. I don't know that this is still (or ever was )the case. It is what was posted here some time ago........
  17. They didn't handle losing Wade very well either as I recall...... Good luck in the Big East. I'm guessing it'll be like Leonardo DiCaprio being sentanced to life in the special sex crimes detention area of a maximum security prison.....bottoms up!
  18. I really think we are way ahead of last year, assuming Tommie and Kevin are healthy. No offense to Reggie and Tom but we aren't losing that much due to their injuries. IO scored a good bit this year but also disappeared big time for stretches when we really needed him. I'll be shocked if our offense isn't much smoother and easier than last year.
  19. We lose Reggie and Tom and IO. Of the three only one was somewhat effective this year. We gain (at least) Liddell and Lisch. Both are proven scorers. We have a maturing Danny Brown, Dwayne, Luke, Va'shun and Ian. Drejaj, JJ, Bryce, Clarke and who ever else we get can improve or not and we are still WAY ahead of this year. Sorry if I forgot anyone.
  20. I doubt Travis led the Warriors in rebounding. We lost our number one offensive threat and our number one interior defender and rebounder. In comparison Marquette got off easy.
  21. Brad sure looked a lot less bright (to some) early this year.......
  22. I'll take our Gov over yours any day of the week pal.....
