Sure, this probably isn't the best place to discuss the current state of international politics, but it's even less of a place to let bigotry set the tone. I'm here to talk and read about SLU basketball, and it's disappointing to see ignorant, mean-spirited comments about any group of people. Keep your hate to yourself. And JMM, that was actually a pretty good post until the end. I love the idea of adding new bars for SLU students in the area, and keeping them from having to drive to go out and drink. No one is paid to moderate this board. The moderators have lives to lead. We're not going to read and weigh every statement to see if it would offend someone. If we catch something we feel is objectionable, we do something about it; however, there may be some things we either don't catch or don't feel strongly about. Therefore, if you find something objectionable, exercise your responsibility as a "responsible reader" and click the link that says "alert" in the post you feel has objectionable material. Then the moderators get e-mail letting them know that there's something we ought to look at and consider. Until posters are doing that regularly, then I really don't want to read posts questioning why the moderators do this or that or don't do this or that.
