willie
Just saw on ESPN the tourney is staying at 65 teams
kshoe
it needs to stay special and with only 1 in 5 making it, it is special. Doubling it would kill the regular season.
DoctorB
Excellent decision. I always thought, by the way, that the expansion to 65 (rather than 64) was rather odd. I finally figured out the logic (more conference champs, and they did not want to lower the number of at-large bids). But that first game on Tuesday is one of the biggest snoozers in the entire year. And yet the winner of the Tuesday game can say, "we won a game in the Big Dance!!"
cheeseman
I was not crazy about the doubling proposal from the coaches - sounded like they just wanted to create more job security for themselves. I would be open to having a few more play in games if it would help the selection committee not leave someone out.
bluecrewfinance
I agree...but I would not be opposed to making all of the 16 seeds get through a play-in game.
