Marlow
Steve Wyche, the writer of the Washington Post article on Larry Hughes, is a native St. Louisan. It's nice to know that Larry has someone in the D. C. press who shares a connection.
thetorch
Defense is where everything must begin for Hughes. The Wiz are a horrible defensive team, adding arenas does not help. If hughes can buckle down on the defensive end he will play big minutes for the Wizards. With Arenas, who is not a true pg, and Stackhouse who are both ballhogs Hughes has a much better chance of getting the ball if he takes it from an opposing player than on offense. Hughes should try to take up a role like Ron Artest does on the Pacers, he is capable of being a defensive stopper.
slufanskip
With Hughes it all needs to start with attitude and desire. I watched him play 7-8 times last year ... he does not play with any passion anymore.
aj_arete
until he bulks up. I wonder how much time he's spent in the weight room. With his long arms and quickness, he certainly has the potential to be a Ron Artest defender in the NBA. My question is will he ever realize it... billiken_roy
aj, yesterdays washington post had an article on stackhouse that contained this sentence: "Stackhouse is penciled in to start alongside Arenas in the back court, but the uncertainty of Jeffries' recovery from right knee surgery and the desire to get a long look at a bulked-up Larry Hughes at shooting guard could relegate Stackhouse to small forward, where he played most of last season." aj_arete
Hughes in his right position which is on the wing. I certainly hope he breaks out with a great year.
