Richmond Owes Us A ‘Thank You’

Recommended Posts

I think the key was that Richmond pressed Davidson and kept them working from end to end.  They didn't get the clean looks and their shots didn't fall in the first half.  Both teams heated up in the second half but it is seems easier to punch and counterpunch then as opposed to be down by twenty and playing continual catch up.  There were many times where the screens set were too difficult for Richmond to get by (Majerus-like).  But Davidson didn't shoot well.  I don't know what magical defense one can come up with and fighting too hard through screens will get you called for a foul.  So when Davidson is making them --- lights out.  Twice.

Dayton not only out but can't play a home game first because of the First Four.  No 13,000 fans to help out.  Poor Dayton.  What's the word on Malachi Smith?

Without that home-court, DraftKings has them as 1-point underdogs against Toledo. Supposedly the First Team out, best team in the NIT. Meanwhile Xavier are 12.5 point favorites over Cleveland State
