Basketbill
Yesterdays call still baffles me, perhaps I am just a MBM, but does someone know why a lane violation was called on SLU when martin was finally getting to shoot his foul shots. As I understand it players can enter the lane as soon as the ball leaves the shooters hands. I have watch that over and over again I do not see the violation unless someone was standing on the line. Is there a different rule for the first of two could shots?
Quality Is Job 1
I didn't see the play. Did a player from above the key move into the key after Martin had the ball? That would also be a violation, I believe.
HoosierPal
I have never seen a lane violation called on the first shot of a two shot foul. The announcers said Reynolds was in the lane. He was in the third position on the lane. I cannot verify if he was or wasn't, be if he was, WHY??
iamitalian85
I heard a rumor that because of that lane violation we will no longer be putting anyone in position to rebound when our opponent is shooting foul shots. Can anyone confirm?
Basketbill
If Reynolds was in the lane either his foot was on the line, or the rule is different for the first of two shots, or the ref was making up for and extended wait as hurley asked him to. Reynolds stepped into the lane well after the ball was released and after it hit the rim.
slufanskip
I also watched over and over. Unless his toe was on the line ... just a bad call. No one entered from outside the 3 point line that I remember seeing
Duff Man
It looked to me that the call was on Yarbrough who was directly to the shooters left (we had all 4 spots occupied). I didn't look like Yarbrough stepped in the lane, but he did extend his arms straight forward. Maybe it's a slick FT defending maneuver that Hurley complained about previously or maybe it was just a freak occurrence. Odd call.

So either that or it was the fifty bucks hurley offered him to make up for the delay. The other odd call was the technical foul the refs either called it on the kick, or trash talking. In realtime Manning moved his head awkwardly and quickly. The slow motion replays did not show much. So I gather it was trash talking taunting that got the technical.
