West Pine Jim
Yup. It's bad enough that he's at best mediocre after all these years. Letting him do another game during our season shows a complete lack of self-respect on the part of the athletic department. As an aside, as we were leaving the game, two women were walking along the concourse and one says to the other, "Hey, we didn't hear the word 'correction' all game. That's Guy Phillips' catch phrase, you know." This is true. Although I thought the new guy, near the end of the game, did refer to Evans as "Dwayne Wade" ! GOSLU68
The new guy has better understanding of basketball but he needs to bring his own mike; he tries to have it perpendicular to him and occasionally talks past it. Also the pre-game jam time Rammer video has had the sound way too loud-2clicks down please!

I don't see how anyone can understand a thing by the anyone who speaks into a microphone during games. The sound system at the Chaifetz is facking horrible. doowop
I believe it's been mentioned before that all the dunking happens before the refs come on the floor. Otherwise, a technical (or technicals?) would be assessed. Not sure why that is.It is illegal to dunk before games so as to prevent players from breaking the backboard, thus delaying or preventing the game from being played. Backboards used to be broken by players hanging onto the basket quite often before the start of the game before the rule was added.

Speaking of which, the refs last night missed a mandatory technical in which an LMU player went up for a rebound or pass that missed and subsequently grabbed the rim. GOSLU68
I think the rule leaves some discretion to the ref player can grab the rim to prevent injury
