Shakeel Moore was a difference-maker for NC State, scoring 17 points including 3-4 from 3 and a highlight-reel dunk. He averaged 5 PPG coming into the game (that’s what he scored against us). Out of reactions but good post. After a few minutes to decompress I’m actually encouraged by the status of the team. We battled @ a Big Ten team despite what could be our worst shooting efforts of the season (and one of Minnesota’s best). We fought until the final buzzer and kept the score respectable (matters). Thatch gave some great minutes, especially on D. We have some great self-scouting opportunities.

I watched Cincy struggle to beat a pretty good Tulsa team last night. They aren’t one of the best 4 teams.

The only problem with that projection is Thatch has shown nothing to show he’s capable of that kind of production on a consistent basis. It’s not a knack on Thatch; in fact, it’s rather unfair to try anointing him as a replacement for Goodwin when we’ll likely never have a comparable player again. Thatch is much more likely to be a 14 and 5 guy, which would be great. Hopefully he’s able to stay healthy so we can see him reach his potential. It just isn’t necessary to try turning him into something he isn’t.

Goodwin tonight: 16 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, 1 block (and 4 TOs). Career game for 99% of players. Another night at the office for J-Good.

They really shouldn’t be compared, as their games are very different. But since we’re all having fun here: Jett’s career high in rebounds was 10, which he did once. We all know Goodwin AVERAGES that per game. Some day soon we will all regret not appreciating Goodwin more during his career. He is truly a once in a lifetime player.

Discipline and execution are traits of coaching, not the type of player recruited. I’ll leave it at that.
