A few years ago, when we had 5 transfers sitting out (Bess, Foreman, Santos, Bishop, Henriquz), did we only have 6 scholarship players playing? Or was there a way around that?

Great news today for Team Blue!

We return 4 guys who have already averaged double figures at the D1 level, and now add a 5th. And then there's TJ, DJ, Yurimania, and JBJ. Love it!

I too am not sold on Russell now (admitting I haven't seen him play) for this very reason. If Jimerson didn't go down last season, then Weaver would have seen him time diminish to mop up activity. And don't forget Strickland's athletic ability and shooting ability. I just don't see the minutes for Russell at this point, especially assuming you have Yuri and Thatch for 3 more years, Jacobs for 2, and Jimerson and Strickland for 4, not to mention TJ for 3 as well.

I'm sure the power conferences, like everything else, will make the decision, so yeah, he probably knows.

Right now he'd have to sit a year. Now the NCAA is supposed to vote on that later this month. They could reverse that which could throw the summer into a free for all in my opinion.

Yeah I really wasn't suggesting that. My point was a healthy Jimmerson was well on his way to having a much better season than Obi Jr, and now UK wants him. I was not suggesting GJ will transfer and there is no indication he will. My point is we are in a pretty good situation for next season if Cal is spending a scholarship on a kid who averaged 5 a game in the A10.

If he can go to UK, where could a healthy Jimmerson end up?

He'll get minutes there right away that he wouldn't get here.

I agree. For say 10 minutes, Jacobs or Goodwin would be fine at the point with GJ and JP in the same lineup.

Good point, we just don't know about him either way. But if healthy he does appear athletic. A guy like Mahorcic will attract a lot of interest and offers because of his size and skill set, and would help most programs including ours. That being said, French still get 30 minutes next year and I don't see him taking minutes away from Bell, just would depend on how Bell can expand his minutes. Minutes are to be earned.

Definitely someone you want to sign, just not sure about the minutes, barring injury. If Has gets 30, and Bell 20, that doesn't mean many are left, because I see Yuri, JG, GJ, and JP on the floor together a lot.

Agree. I'm sure Haarms is looking for more than what we can offer. Very modest numbers as a junior at Purdue. Give Bell more development and minutes and he's better than that.
