Not worth the risk, catre'are is a nightmare.

This is great news. This is what good programs do, get rid of the extra weight to add pieces who can contribute. Wish Rivera the best wherever he ends up.

love this addition

Tim Dalger from Tulsa appears to be in STL for a visit, averaged 10.2/5.3 last year for Tulsa. Would be a great get.

Talent wasn't the problem, roster building was the problem. We had all the basketball talent you could ever want at this level. They just couldn't play on the defensive side of the ball.
Talent was definitely part of the problem last year. Zero depth at the 1 and the 5.

so starting with his rickma stint 15 years ago, please show me his strong international recruits that were top division one players. thanks
Give us some names that you want SLU to hire for the other assistant opening? Or are you going to cry regardless of who we hire?

Cal won only 3 games last year. Do we care about their possible transfers?
Yes

Any Cal guys still in the portal that could be moving over with Harriman?

I just don’t see in what world Martin would come as an assistant at SLU. He would take the head job, but he’s not going to be an assistant at a mid major. Keep in mind, the dude is filthy rich. If for some reason we could land him, it would be in place of Tate, as the associate head coach. I’d be down for that.
Agreed

Here's a somewhat objective critique of that hire - too much overlap with Coach Tate's recruiting strengths.
Many of Cuonzo's big recruits Jeremiah Tilmon, Torrence Watson, Javon Pickett, Mark Smith, Mario McKinney, Yaya Keita were local guys, some of whom we recruited and had a decent shot at, but they ended up choosing differently. Coach Tate covers the same ground - Jordan Goodwin, Terrence Hargrove, Javon Pickett, Yuri Collins, Jordan Nesbitt, Carte'Are Gordon.
We might be better off with an assistant whose recruiting strengths compliment Coach Tate's, instead of perfectly overlapping them.
When you have the opportunity to bring in someone who has been the head coach at Tennessee, California, and Mizzou, you should jump at that opportunity.
It blows my mind how people could think we’re landing someone above Cuonzo’s coaching pedigree to be our new assistant.

I see the west pine bills subtweets online about cuonzo, I’m really curious who those guys want. Lot of chatter from them, not a lot of action.
-
I still think Cuonzo would be a great fit, I really don't understand what people's expectations are.
-
Who is the other SLU assistant that is rumored to be leaving? I saw people mentioning it in the twitter back and forth with Larry Hughes.
-
I want Cuonzo

If you had a front court of three marten linssens, you’re finishing 8th in the A10. The guy averaged like 12 minutes a game when we were desperate for front court depth.

Momo couldn't hold his own in the A10. Liability on both sides of the ball, he guarded people like he was an offensive lineman.
-
Wish Momo nothing but the best, I think this is a good move though for both parties.

The guys who are transferring from high majors for their lack of playing time to better high majors always confuses me.

CJ Noland?
That’s my thought as well, he broke the news that he was visiting as well.
would be a great get for SLU, still hoping it’s one of the big name STL kids in the portal

What a day, that’s a huge get for the team. Convincing guys to stay is half the battle now a days. He could’ve gone basically anywhere he wanted.
