  1. That’s fair. I can see the logic there. Sincere was 3rd on the team in ORating in conference, but in a much smaller role. Who knows how it will translate to more of a focal point in the offense.
  2. Man I wish I had your optimism. Gibson Jimerson is the only proven guy right now that is at the 1-3 spot who would start on any team in this conference. Sincere and Larry have upside, but need to materialize into actual production. Meadows should be solid, if nothing else. Medley is a frosh with huge shoes to fill. Hard to say that’s an elite A-10 backcourt as of today.
  3. If Ezewiro is denied, his scholarship isn’t open unless he leaves the school. He would just be a redshirt and still count against the limit.
  4. Looks like the final scholarship has been filled. Mike Meadows II, formerly of Portland, transfers to the Billikens. Welcome!
  5. For what it’s worth, some transparency with NIL is coming at some point. Whether through NCAA decree or a number of proposed, or close to being proposed, federal bills, eventually there will be some deals that have to be publicized.
  6. I guess my counterpoint would be that no one can prove that isn’t the case either. There are large sums of money being thrown around at the mid major level, but hard numbers aren’t ever going to be revealed, except through the BVF tax returns according to Troy’s radio interview from launch day.
  7. Joe’s- maybe. They have talent but arguably the worst coach in the league. Bonaventure- no. Schmidt is a wizard and they have a great mix of returning players and incoming transfers/freshmen. Wouldn’t be surprised to see them win the league at all.
  8. WVU currently has 4 open spots. Plenty of room for both guys there.
  9. I wasn’t. Think it’s quite fair actually based on the number of complete unknowns. All we can do is wait and see.
  10. T-Rank basically doesn’t account for any non-top 100 freshman because they’re hard to predict accurately. Just like our beloved Wiz, he runs a statistical model that’s an imperfect science. His stuff right now is more of a starting point than true predictions, and teams with higher numbers of returning players usually are valued higher.
  11. 11-7 in a conference that is looking like a single bid one isn’t anything to write home about. 20 wins will get you a nice view from the couch when the tournament rolls around just like this year. I think that’s the ultimate point a lot of frustrated fans are trying to make. We’re being sold that 20 wins is a big accomplishment, when in reality the program isn’t progressing to higher levels of success.
  12. 20 wins isn’t an accomplishment that will get him coach of the year. There’s still talent on the roster and early indications are that the OOC schedule will be significantly lighter than the past few seasons.
  13. There will be an actual game to talk about on that day, so yeah
  14. Only 118 more days of high quality off-season board discussion
  15. This is exactly where I’m at. My expectations are based on where the program should be, and not the team itself. SLU should be dancing more than once every 5 years, or I guess more accurately twice in 10 years. Just because this upcoming group doesn’t necessarily look like a tournament team doesn’t mean I'm okay settling for a record over .500 and saying things are great.
  16. This was my big takeaway too. Usually in his summer radio appearances he’s pretty energetic and selling hard. Wasn’t the case yesterday.
  17. Don’t really have a dog in this fight, but do want to point out Cian played a national schedule his junior and senior years, and the average opponent he faced off against were more often D1 than what LHJ faced off against in MO. From interviews, it sounds like the staff doesn’t want to force Cian into too much, too soon. More likely than not, it’ll be a combo of both guys, and not one player getting 30 MPG at the 1.
  18. Disagree with this notion SLU is a major player in college basketball. The program could be a major player if it gets back on track and becomes a consistent fixture in the NCAA Tournament. But as it currently stands, it’s been 4 seasons since the Billikens danced, and the program only has made 2 appearances in the last 10 years. A big part of changing that is the mindset, which I completely agree with. Trying shouldn’t be equated with succeeding.
  19. Looks like he is. From write ups on his commitment on Chinese websites, that’s his full name.
  20. Jay Pal committed to San Diego State back in May https://twitter.com/jaypal_22/status/1659248307112116239?s=46
  21. While that is true, it also doesn’t mean much being right inside it, because it’s still short of what this team was supposed to be. At the end of the day, the team was supposed to make the tournament, and fell short of even the NIT.
  22. Yes, look at the teams that were additions when the old BE fell. Butler: consistent winner at the mid-major level, on and off ranked in the years prior to the move, and 2 time Final Four participant in recent years. Also a huge level of fan support. Xavier and Creighton: same story as Butler without the F4’s. Rabid fanbases with big attendance numbers. UConn: legacy Big East member with multiple national titles in the last 25 years, including 1 in their brief time in the American. Winning will be a huge criteria of any addition, since each tournament team earns NCAA credits. Why add a team that doesn’t make the dance consistently?
  23. SLU in the Big East would be a dream come true. Unfortunately we haven’t won anywhere close enough games in men’s hoops to be a legitimate candidate.
  24. Brad might not even be eligible as a two time transfer. Until there’s confirmation he gets a waiver, someone else probably starts at center.
  25. Interest does not equal an offer. Vice won’t play much this year because Creighton has a top 5 big man in the country. He would have started here and been an immediate contributor. As excited as I am about Medley, he’s a slight of frame pass first guard. Don’t think his interest would have been in the same ballpark if he backed out.
