  1. D.J. Foreman is a welcome addition to the 2017 team. At worst should be Reggie, but at best could be much better than RA. This move does not feel that surprising, but still glad that SLU was able to close the deal on him.

  3. Those hot dogs are solid too. Can't argue with that.
  4. Tried searching to see if this was posted already, but just saw this on my timeline.
  5. Also about the Chicago hot dogs. Best dogs (in my opinon) are just outside the city, in River Grove. Gene and Jude's is perhaps the quintessential dog. If you're ever in Chicago, make the trip it is worth it.
  6. Pi is San Francisco style from what I was told at the restaurant. I will admit though, pi is the closest thing to Chicago style in STL. I go there a lot during the school year.
  7. You are correct, but Bowman has dealt with the cap well and augmented the existing core. Not having Shark and Saad hurt these playoffs, but a year of development for Artemi Panarin combined with Kane and Toews being in their prime means they will be fine. There will be changes though.
  8. They will be fine. Bowman and Coach Q are the best GM and coach and re-tool every off-season because of the cap. As long as this core is in place, never count out the Blackhawks. In other news go Sox.
  9. Looks like the off-season has led to coordinated dancing?
  10. I would love to see Walker come to SLU. I don't know much about him since he is before my time, but if he is a guy with area ties as well as to the school I would love it. I'd assume he is lead recruiter on the local players U of I is making progress with so a hire could be huge for us.
  11. There has been an additional list by the incoming president of the BSA including that the Cupples house to be made a safe space.
  12. I know it was in the other thread but SLU has offered Isaiah Coleman of La Lumier. 6-0 PG. Also, some video:

  14. Bishop just looks like a more competent guard than Reynolds or McBroom. Sure, all have interesting statistical aspects to their game and on paper it might be harder to differentiate between the players. But imo, Bishop is the most talented of the bunch. He had growing pains, yes, but from an eye test perspective he looks like the best basketball player of the bunch. Is he the best guard on our roster? No, that is Crawford. Is he better than Barnes? Most likely (based on my limited viewings of Barnes).
  15. So far I think Dwayne Evans is the only confirmed player, plus some guy from University of New Orleans. But I thought I saw on Twitter that KM will also be on the roster.
  16. I agree that the University probably could not do anything since this is a private conversation and probably would have opened up issues for them if they punished it in some manner. Since it was not directed towards anyone under the jurisdiction of the school, it makes sense. Personally I was wondering how long this would take before a media outlet picked it up, since it was news on campus around last Wednesday or so. That being said, it is another tricky position for the school to be in, as punishing the baseball players was foggy legally, and not punishing them allows for a smear campaign in the realm of public opinion. Will be interesting to see how much backlash there is from this story. And on another note, if members of the staff knew about this before becoming public then changes need to be made. If this was never brought to the attention of the coaching staff or members of the AD, a firing would be difficult to rationalize. It is impossible for a coach to have complete tabs over things such as group chats made outside the attention of the team.
  17. Hey everyone, this season a group of SLU alumni mixed in with some other former college players are again trying to compete in The Basketball Tournament. In order to be eligible for play, and the 2 million dollar grand prize, they must receive about 200 more votes. I am sure many on the board have voted for the team already, but here is the link for those who have not: https://www.thetournament.com/teams/majerus-slu-crew-saint-louis-alumni Hopefully this year we will see something better than a first round exit, but in order to get there the team will need some help. Thank you for voting and for sharing this with any Billiken fan that you can think of.
  18. Interesting, but not groundbreaking for anyone here necessarily. I've heard a couple similar things from more of a fe degrees of separation than being able to ask a player myself. Though I've heard there was more to it than just the PG offer. Not a long list of "demands" though from what I've been told.
  19. Tacoma is very close to Seattle, Gonzaga is on the other side of the state in Spokane. You are right though the population near Spokane is not fantastic. It is right near the Montana border so a whole lot of trees basically. Being near Sea/Tac would change the dynamics of Gonzaga's recruiting quite a bit imo. But that isn't a big of a deal with them since their success is pretty well known nationally.
  20. Never has a deadspin article confused me more than that one.
  21. In regards to incentives they could be during the phase of the contract that Ok State is not covering. Or perhaps a performance clause in the first couple years that will result in a payout once the Ok State money is through. It would be very interesting to see the breakdown of the contract, but as others have mentioned I would bet the financial commitment is low now so that we can have the best staff possible which we have the budget to do so.
  22. If Groce lands Goodwin and Tilmon, his seat will cool down just enough for U of I to ensure those guys don't de-commit.
  23. From what I saw of McCaw in person this year (granted it was in November) he didn't appear NBA ready. He had good scoring numbers early in the season, but not someone I would have expected to leave after this season. Even Zimmerman is a reach. He could benefit tremendously from another year.
