  1. Moolah does exist, but Moolah Monday's hasn't been a promotion in my time on campus. I think 4 years ago is when they last did it regularly, but I am not certain.
  2. Yes the same group owns Cathedral Square, Diablitos, Cafe Ventana on forest park, Moonshine Blues Bar, Hendrick's BBQ, and Sanctuaria Wild Tapas according to the website. I only knew of the first three off the top of my head as Cafe Ventana or Diablitos has some coupon with the logos on it.
  3. In the restaurant space of Coronado now there is a place called Mi Caribe that has a Friday happy hour in the afternoon I believe. But other than that it is a restaurant and not much of a bar.
  4. Pistol I am not meaning to cry woe is me for this. I know little of lacledes or what the landscape of nightlife looked like before my time here. But what I infer from older friends and people here is that there were places that more people congregated at. There are more options near campus now to be sure, but in terms of places students actually go to, they are more so in soulard. Library Annex and Humps are about it for bars close to campus as far as places that students actually go to. In the case of Humps, aside from Wednesday there aren't many students there. That is the kind of option I am saying that doesn't really exist.
  5. Being a student here now is some slim pickings, I will say that much.
  6. It will be interesting to see what happens with the new owners that is for sure. It is a fantastic location for a college bar, they just need to figure out ways to get people in there on a nightly basis. Easier said than done, to be sure.
  7. Matthews is an interesting name for sure. Csnt exactly remember who he was looking at out of St. Rita, but he has a brother at UIC who is the Flames best player and I recall they really enjoyed playing together. Obviously doesn't mean much but could see him looking there for starters.
  8. I've heard the same thing that it was to remain a bar from a couple employees, both current and former. Supposedly that was the desire of the owner, but who knows for sure.
  9. While some of the MSU people on Twitter seemed to be fine with him leaving, as he didn't produce much there, this is someone who I would love to see in a SLU uniform. His high school highlights are quite impressive, showing him dunk over quite a few unlucky players. While athleticism doesn't always translate to great production (ie: AY) he would be a good fit to pair with the other transfers coming in. Having 3 guys come in who have played at higher levels, and in the case of Foreman and Henriquez have played to a degree of success, would be a tremendous benefit in 2017 and in practice this season. Would love to see Ford close the deal.
  10. http://theadvocate.com/sports/latestsports/15692923-123/university-high-basketball-player-jalen-johnson-commits-to-st-louis-university Just saw this write up about him committing. One interesting thing is that he has a torn ACL in his past. Might explain a little lack of explosiveness but I could be guessing there.
  11. Based on the fact there are still more guys to come in I would bet we will see some shuffling of the roster. Whether it be a return to walk-on for AH or a tranfer after finals, it just doesn't feel like this is the final group for 2016.
  12. https://twitter.com/JonRothstein/status/727952480215158786 Another transfer to visit.
  13. D.J. Foreman is a welcome addition to the 2017 team. At worst should be Reggie, but at best could be much better than RA. This move does not feel that surprising, but still glad that SLU was able to close the deal on him.

  15. Those hot dogs are solid too. Can't argue with that.
  16. Tried searching to see if this was posted already, but just saw this on my timeline.
  17. Also about the Chicago hot dogs. Best dogs (in my opinon) are just outside the city, in River Grove. Gene and Jude's is perhaps the quintessential dog. If you're ever in Chicago, make the trip it is worth it.
  18. Pi is San Francisco style from what I was told at the restaurant. I will admit though, pi is the closest thing to Chicago style in STL. I go there a lot during the school year.
  19. You are correct, but Bowman has dealt with the cap well and augmented the existing core. Not having Shark and Saad hurt these playoffs, but a year of development for Artemi Panarin combined with Kane and Toews being in their prime means they will be fine. There will be changes though.
  20. They will be fine. Bowman and Coach Q are the best GM and coach and re-tool every off-season because of the cap. As long as this core is in place, never count out the Blackhawks. In other news go Sox.
  21. Looks like the off-season has led to coordinated dancing?
  22. I would love to see Walker come to SLU. I don't know much about him since he is before my time, but if he is a guy with area ties as well as to the school I would love it. I'd assume he is lead recruiter on the local players U of I is making progress with so a hire could be huge for us.
  23. There has been an additional list by the incoming president of the BSA including that the Cupples house to be made a safe space.
