  1. About a third way through, this starts showing some jump shots. Maybe, just maybe........a shooter.
  2. I may have missed one or two, but here are the P5/6 wins todate. George Mason - Nebraska (Big Ten) SLU - BC (ACC) Richmond - Vandy (SEC), Wisconsin (Big Ten) and BC (ACC) Dayton - Georgia (SEC) and Virginia Tech (ACC) VCU - LSU (SEC) Rhody - Alabama (SEC) and Providence (Big East) St. Bonnie - Rutgers (Big Ten) That is 4 SEC, 3 Big Ten, 3 ACC, and 1 Big East whooping. We need someone to take down a Big 12 (SLU!) and a PAC 12 foe.
  3. Another good win for the conference. Russell with 24 and Langevine with 17/16. Pipkins who left UMass for the bright lights of Providence, got shut out
  4. Hopeful to get this thread back on track.......
  5. Coach was on with Frank yesterday. Someone else mentioned this, but it is lost in the threads. https://590thefan.com/radio-shows/press-box/ Segment four on the 5th. He commented on Goodwin and French's minutes. It is based on how hard they play. "Some of the guys on our team haven't figured that out". French and Goodwin compete every single minute of the game. Goodwin is always talking (sometimes talking back) to Ford on the floor. "Jordan and Hasahn have more leeway. They have earned the right to make some mistakes." They can take Ford's criticism as they know he isn't going to take them out. He treats every player fairly, but he doesn't treat every player the same. "We pretty much make all the decisions for the five freshmen." Frank "Is there a chance Perkins moves into the starting lineup." Coach "He won't move into the starting lineup, at least not Sunday." "We are going to keep it the same, he'll play 25 to 30 minutes. Fred Thatch is most likely still out. As the season goes along I wouldn't be surprised to see him start. No difference than a Gibson Jimerson, maybe. It is going to be fluid as the season goes along. The only guys guaranteed to start are Hasahn and Jordan." Didn't want to get deep into the Thatch medical issue, it is cramps and they are trying to find the reasons that are causing it. It has taken a little bit of time. There isn't a time table on it. On Gordon, with the recent news of him leaving again, Frank asked if Coach had a 'we can be your best option'. Coach dodged this, but wishes him the best. "I want good things to happen for Gordon." Recruiting: Talked about Strickland. "Obviously we aren't done." We have one scholarship available, right now. He has been around St. Louis this week looking at recruits. Tulane went the transfer route. Kansas transfer, Lawson, is the leading scorer; starting guard from Georgia last season. Called Tulane a top of A10 level team with older, experienced players. Compared last season team to this season's. He said they spent a lot of time last season with off court issues. This team needs a lot of teaching. Practices are 'slow'. Frank was asked from off line, who will be the next local recruit. Frank talked about St. Louis Christian's Jordan Nesbit, who is a 6'7" reclassified junior. Compared him to Ben McLemore. "He would be great." He also mentioned Kern and in Segment 5, talked about the family interest, as previously mentioned somewhere else.
  6. Post Dispatch subscribers have already read this. I recommend for those that boycott the PD swallow your pride and read this article by Stu. Very nasty situation for Coach Tate that required surgery. https://www.stltoday.com/sports/college/slu/serious-leg-injury-limits-but-doesn-t-stop-corey-tate/article_d496f57c-adde-56d7-a047-fe4ce7a8d013.html?utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&utm_campaign=user-share
  7. Even in slow motion and stop action, that disallowed dunk was weird.
  8. "I like the old Billiken better." "He shot that too quick."
  9. Think there is a little LeBron bias in the NBA? Two sets of rules, maybe?
  10. I just read where the Charlie South buy was $90,000. Money well spent Mizzou. Put it into the Porter bucket of lost coin.
  11. AND, they are buying out their alumni football coach for $2.85 million and his staff for another Brinks truck load, plus giving whichever desperate soul takes the gig another boatload of money.
  12. Georgetown seems to have several scholarships now available. (The Titanic is looking for some new band members.)
  13. I think he did, to collect 'their buy game' check.
  14. I agree 100% with this. On Scoops yesterday Ford said a player's positives how to outweigh (he said double) the negatives. Not running hard down court would be a big negative.
  15. Dayton leads the nation this morning in NCAA D1 FG% at 54.7%. Arizona is a distant second at 52.8% The Billikens sit in 123rd at 44.3%. Bills are tied for 32nd in Blocks at 5.1. VCU is the top A10 team at 7th with 6.2 bpg. We are 112th in A/TO at 1.04. Richmond and Dayton are 4th and 5th at 1.58. I'm surprised VCU is only 175th in A/TO at 0.92. Bills 43rd in steals per game at 8.5. VCU tops the A10 members at #2 nationwide with 10.9.
  16. Buy games run around $60,000, some more some less. I hope Martin enjoyed handing Charlie South the check.
  17. Golden and Cayo sit out again tonight, but the Spiders win easily at Hampton. Richmond is deeper this year than in the past, going 8 to 9 deep. They are for real.
  18. I'm out of reactions today, but N I C E.
  19. Tigerboard is flaming. They are ready to move on from coach poach. One guy: I hope Sterk uses a different search firm for a football coach than the one he used to get Martin.
  20. Charleston South is a high school team, right?
  21. We don't play Auburn here until 2021-2022. We go to Auburn 2022-2023. I thought it was strange when it was announced last summer that 2020 would be skipped, but likely this tourney was already in the works and now that makes sense. Top four seeds are obvious, MSU, Gonzaga, Xavier and Auburn. SLU, Belmont, Boise State and Siena will be lined up against one of those four. We could be playing Auburn four years in a row. https://www.stltoday.com/sports/college/slu/slu-basketball-has-three-game-deal-with-auburn-starting-this/article_b2d618f4-8fae-5f37-8730-8609e3abb770.html
