  1. * *calm down folks, it's a rhetorical meme
  2. Should be easy, my wife and I have been practicing bullet points 1 and 6 for years now... I kid. Our love life burns with the white-hot intensity of a thousand suns.
  3. I knew SLU would get the Big Ten invite before Mizzou.
  4. That would be a fun trip. STL -> MSP is a quick and cheap flight. It really is a great place to visit. If winters weren't so brutally depressing there they'd have twice the population (slight exaggeration). They also have a surprisingly large number of rooftop bars and restaurants, especially when compared to STL, despite the fact that it's cold half the year and can blizzard in late April. STL needs to up its rooftop game.
  5. Where did all of you folk watch the Premier games before the corolla virus hit? Comfort of your own home? That's generally where I watched the games. @wgstl is there anywhere close to us that has a decent set up for maximum soccer viewing? Not a big fan of Llywelyn's tv set up.
  6. FREAL?! Wow, I had no idea how promotion worked. If I read it right just now it looks like Leeds and West Brom will be promoted since they finished 1 & 2 respectively. Teams 3-6 play in tournament to decide 3rd spot? Thanks for the heads up on this! Hopefully I can find this game on tv...
  7. A good friend of mine when I was living in LA was originally from Chelsea so I sort of became a Chelsea fan back in 2006/7. Another factor that ended up making my decision easy. Only match I've ever seen in person was Fulham vs Crystal Palace at Craven Cottage back in late December of 2004. That was a really cool experience made even better by the fact that both McBride and Bocanegra were on that team. I can't imagine what it would be like to see a Man City v Chelsea/Liverpool game in person!
  8. I need to try that Parkmoor burger. Have you seen that thing? My god it's breathtaking.
  9. St. Louis (or Saint Louis not sure which spelling) is part of the name. No "STL", "Gateway", "Manchester Rd", "Delmar", "Granite City" etc. unfortunately.
  10. For those worried about "United" or "FC" or "SC" fear not....it's none of those. Those hoping for STL city flag colors should be satisfied.
  11. Correct: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">I don’t know the team name. I do know some of the names that are not the team name. That’s one of them. <a href="https://t.co/O33q93nNDy">https://t.co/O33q93nNDy</a></p>&mdash; Ben Frederickson (@Ben_Fred) <a href="https://twitter.com/Ben_Fred/status/1285283307379462152?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 20, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
  12. Saint Louis SC FC United is my first choice
  13. Personally, I don't give a rat's a55 where our players come from....as long as we are winning. Yeah, local players would be great for numerous reasons stated on this board but if we're winning and winning consistently, our entire team could be from Greenland for all I care.
  14. Agree 100%. I'd rather play a top 15 team tough and lose by 5 points than beat High Point by 12.
  15. Tommy likey. Tommy want Powelly. He looks considerably smaller than 6'8 220 on his Rivials video but I like what I see. Appears to be able to play outside of 7 feet from the basket. Plus he spelled our school correctly.
  16. Done. They have some really cool retro apparel. Love the t shirts with the ball swishing through dat hoop.
  17. He does seem like a tool. Also seems like a weird list to me but what do I know: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Source: Georgetown transfer Mac McClung has cut his list to the following programs.<br><br>Texas Tech<br>BYU<br>Auburn<br>Memphis<br>USC<br>Arkansas<br>Wake Forest</p>&mdash; Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) <a href="https://twitter.com/JonRothstein/status/1263213071314665478?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">May 20, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
  18. It's time to come home, Mac. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Sources: Georgetown transfer Mac McClung is expected to announce his list of seven potential destinations later today.</p>&mdash; Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) <a href="https://twitter.com/JonRothstein/status/1263139685792206848?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">May 20, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
  19. If anyone has to worry it's coach Poach. Those players are probably begging Yuri and TJ to take them back with them to STL.
  20. Out of reactions but +1M It has always bothered me that a student could dedicate 4 years of their life to developing an impressive work ethic and obtaining excellent grades just to see their future plans hijacked because of one day of standardized testing.
  21. For students like me that had really good grades but were horrible standardized test takers this is a good thing. When I was researching grad schools, I looked for schools that did not require a GRE.
  22. Granted he was a transfer but I'd add Bess to the highly-ranked 3-star, top 200 national guy (I believe he was 4 on ESPN, 3 on Rivals).
  23. Haha completely skipped over that key word. That's what I get for working and posting tweets i don't fully read on this chat forum at the same time. Why did I think Santos-Silva was a sophomore this year....
  24. Haven't really been paying attention but how has Santo-Silva already been deemed immediately eligible? Note to self: work on reading comprehension <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">VCU grad transfer Marcus Santos-Silva has committed to Texas Tech, per his Twitter page.<br><br>Immediately eligible.<br><br>Significant Big 12 news.</p>&mdash; Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) <a href="https://twitter.com/JonRothstein/status/1255554097509535747?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">April 29, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
  25. This. A million times. There is no greater marketing tool for a university than a successful athletic program. Strongly considered applying to St. John's University solely because I loved watching their 1999 Elite 8 team with Ron Artest, Lavor Postell, Eric Barkley, and Jarvis at the helm. Thought it would have been pretty cool rooting them on at MSG every year. Knew nothing else about the school other than it was in Queens. Perhaps not the best example since I didn't end up going there but If not for their basketball team it would not have even been a consideration.
