  1. I said this earlier but in the span of a few weeks I’ve gone from thinking DeVries was beneath us to me thinking he probably views the SLU job as beneath him. Like YOU said earlier, it’s probably Drake or P5 for DeVries at this point.
  2. The next 2 weeks are going to test the strength of my marriage. I'm sure I'm not alone in this. Wife and kids will be ignored a lot until we hire a coach.
  3. If we're going to reveal info let's do it in a way that upholds the integrity of our fine institution. I did check on Googles to make sure there were quality blue and white smoke GIFs before posting.
  4. 2 days is too long for me. I'd prefer to nip my Mack fantasy in the bud ASAP. @TheOne: if there is mutual interest between SLU and Mack please respond by releasing blue smoke. If there is NO mutual interest between SLU and Mack, white smoke. If you want me to shut up don't respond to this at all.
  5. welfare check on SycamoreStateOfMind in about 10 days....
  6. Wow wow wow. Mixed emotions on this one because I hate Arsenal but also Ramsdale. Excuse me if this is a dumb question but any chance Schulte makes the 2026 WC roster as a back up?
  7. Would've been sweet if the Bills games lined up with NOLA Jazz Fest. Such a cool experience. The music, the food, and the people are amazing. Music - New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival - New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival (nojazzfest.com)
  8. Much needed. Haven't been to Armory yet (probably because i'm not a 25 year-old that wears shin-high socks with tennis shoes) but the Foundry is such an amazing project. Walking through it, you get the sense you're in a proper city. The kids even love it. Took them to Puttshack and then to the food hall. Had a blast. Tons of stuff for all ages. The wife and I are checking out Gerard Craft's new speakeasy, located in the bowels of the Foundry, after dinner next week. None of the Above. As Bart Scott once eloquently stated, "Can't wait!"
  9. My wife is going to become gravely concerned when, on our way to Colorado this summer, I randomly pull of I-70 in Salina to take pictures of an abandoned motel.
  10. Pulling for SLU to beat SLU this weekend. You do a better job of selling this baseball team than SLU social media. Think I'm going to check out a game this season. I know it really doesn't matter who they're playing but is Cinci any good at ball? Thinking about checking out that series. Also, your location in Jacksonville has been ideal for this year's schedule. 60% of those series are within a 5.5 hour drive!
  11. Agree which is why I think it makes more sense to direct this question to non-season ticket holders: assuming SLU actually makes the right* hire, will you purchase season tickets for this upcoming season? Matter of opinion but I think there are a few candidates out there that would please the vast majority of fans.
  12. This CAA Championship game is nutsy kooks. Charleston up 4 on Stony Brook.
  13. My Yahoo Sports app just updated tip time to 4pm CST
  14. Ridiculous thought to have considering the odds of us winning the A10T are <1% but Ford is still gone even if we pull off the miracle on maple (wood), right???? Because with the game starting soon, I'm getting the itch. Daddy is thirsty for an A10T championship.
  15. A Schertz hire would be fantastic. Looking for a new side hustle so if we end up hiring him, PM me if you're interested in going in on a new Schertz clothing line with me. Schertz shirts and shorts for the portly fella. Anyone have an elastic guy? Avila would be a home run get too although there will be a lot of competition for him this offseason. I wouldn't bank on him following Schertz should he depart. Schertz appears to be a more realistic hire but Mack is still my top choice for head coach. However other than Trilly's tweet a few weeks back there has been nothing to suggest Mack has any interest in the job.
  16. I'm largely against keeping him through the A10T because I'm the most impatient person in the world. I have a mini stroke every morning because it takes my kids 7 hours to get into the car and buckled.
  17. Based on Ford's body language Saturday, I agree. He sat for half of the game, seemingly passing coaching duties onto Harry who was up and yelling (coaching) the players on numerous occasions. Those that have watched Ford on the sidelines more closely than I the past 8 years would know better, but I've never seen that happen before Saturday's game. I also think he fully expected to lose that game and his job on Saturday. But as of 11:30am central standard time he is still our coach
  18. 100%. I guess there is still time for IU to renege. Saw IU recently lost a 5 star recruit who asked to be released from his LOI.
  19. As evidenced by my messages on here, I don't know jack squat about jack squat. But it's funny how my personal view of DeVries has gone from thinking he's beneath us to him probably thinking the SLU job is beneath him. As for my top choice, it's still Mack. Not worried one bit about the guy being able to operate in the NIL era. We know he can coach. We know he gets his teams to the tournament. Unless it's hubris (or he's sick of hanging out with his wife all day long), you don't re-enter coaching after significant changes to the coaching/recruiting landscape unless you are confident you can effectively adapt, right? Coaching dominoes starting to fall now...
  20. Unfortunately, another coach still coaching this season: Ford. I'm a glass completely empty kind guy so until Ford is officially gone I'm still anxious. Pull the freaking band-aid already Mickey Mouse May.
