  1. No one on the 2018 Final Four team had any significant value on the NIL market prior to that season.
  2. The officials must arrive 30 minutes early, but otherwise, the pre-game responsibilities can be handled within minutes.
  3. The officials did warm-up behind the north end goal, probably 30-45 minutes before kick-off.
  4. It was a high-level game for sure and thoroughly enjoyable to watch. Unfortunately, the crowd was unusually small. Midweek game with midterms and such. I am glad you highlighted the back line as they played great.
  5. China is hurting and things will only continue to get worse. But they are big and corrupt enough to leverage a few key industries and manufacture elsewhere in Asia if necessary. I hope you are right, but I fear you are wrong.
  6. Congratulations to your daughter! That is great. The automotive may be rather volatile and (sadly) China-led in the long term, but I am sure it is a good place to start a career.
  7. Rose-Hulman is a great school with a beautiful campus, even if it is in Terre Haute (actually, I know very little about Terra Haute).
  8. SLU has a co-operative education course in every undergraduate engineering major that allows students to work during the Fall or Spring and remain enrolled full-time for health insurance purposes. This is typical for most engineering schools. Universities court employers to varying degrees (SLU does this!), but I do not think anyone has a program in which students are placed in the job. As I understand, most employers prefer to recruit and interview prospective interns.
  9. I have no doubt that Rose-Hulman has great job placement rates as one of the top engineering schools. I am sure they also do a lot on the career services side. I was thinking more specifically about the partnerships suggestion. I would be surprised if SLU engineering graduates are not finding jobs at rates similar to UMSL, Mizzou and so on.
  10. Do you have an example of a school that does this well?
  11. OK, but to be fair, the Career Services office is larger than ever. And students are generally dissatisfied with the quality of career advising. Not just at SLU.
  12. My first thought when reading the Durando story was that the Jimerson comment probably had less to do with the limited number of practices and more about the overall excitement about the new opportunity and the work he is doing outside of practice. And a culture that rewards the extra work.
  13. Is it really all that different than what most other coaches are doing these days?
  14. I know the criteria has changed a number of times over the past decade, but at one time, alumni donations and denial rate were critical components so any institution with the means could do a lot to get a few dollars from a large pool of alumni or applications from students who had no chance of being admitted. Other schools report false or falsified data.
  15. Both his parents were student athletes at Washington University. Volleyball and basketball. Has brothers who play at Army and Penn. I figured he would take that Harvard offer.
  16. Maybe, but there are almost no players on the roster who played in 2022. Brogan Townsend and maybe someone else. It makes it even harder to imagine that an assistant coach is the difference.
  17. I know the the basketball night was mentioned elsewhere, but I did not see details. The event will be held as part of Homecoming and Family Weekend festivities... Billikens Basketball Night 6:30-8:30 p.m. Chaifetz Arena Billikens Basketball Night will feature the SLU men’s and women’s basketball teams with post-event autographs and photo opportunities. The event is complimentary to attend and does not require a ticket. Concessions will be available for purchase. Recommended parking: Olive Compton Garage https://www.slu.edu/alumni/events/hcfw.php
  18. Thanks for looking it up. That is incredible to be honest. I like that game and appreciate that they continue to schedule SLU.
  19. No way that is true, is it? My first ever SLU game happened to be Missouri State in the tournament way back when they played at Soccer Park. I was so unprepared for the record cold weather, but the game was incredible.
  20. The latest United Soccer rankings rank SLU below MVC affiliate Western Michigan. Bowling Green defeated Michigan State (and I believe they defeated Indiana. A scrimmage, but still). Missouri State is always in the Top 50 program and often a Top 25 level program. Lots of public schools do well in Men's Soccer. ________________________________________________________________ 5 Western Michigan University 12 0 165 2-0-0 6 Saint Louis University NR 0 152 1-0-0 7 Syracuse University 25 0 151 2-0-0
  21. Just realized that Penn State comes in ranked No. 3/5.
  22. I believe it is a conference decision to mandate video review, but that any school can set-up a laptop and monitor on the sidelines and have someone ready to replay the live stream.
  23. Lindenwood was late to the game of growing enrollment through sports and nearly closed, but the President that ran Tarkio in to the ground did take the approach to new levels.
  24. One man's man-handled is another man's they were playing their style.
