  1. Granted all that, just noting that he’s showing some improvement and has some skills that can be developed.
  2. The Mighty Explorers of LaSalle, down a key starter in Anwar Gill, withstand multiple Fordham rallies and the raucous Rams’ crowd, to steal an 82-77 road victory. Fran Dunphy = Legend!!
  3. Just now getting to watch the replay. Leaving any discussion of coaching out of it, the officiating in this game was horrendous. EZ’s 3rd foul call was ridiculous, Medley gets pushed out of bounds, no foul, ball to Mason, one mystifying call after another. Thought Bruce looked really good in the first half. Seems to be gradually expanding his post game. Still a long way to go but definitely some potential there.
  4. Meadows has been injured with a bad back then didn’t make the trip to Mason d/t a possible concussion which occurred in the Loyola game. I say “Possible concussion” because Rammer and Earl said something about it on the pre-game show which was all I got to see or hear of the game. From what I gather not listening or watching was a fortunate circumstance.
  5. Cold, rainy day in my neck of the woods. Good afternoon to put on Rammer and Earl and hope sleep comes quickly.
  6. Word is she married into the Peters family. Alledgedly, that’s true.
  7. Yep, not a good look. He clearly has talent but it looks he is his own worst critic.
  8. Sure don’t want The Big EZ to get down on himself. Our sloppy PG play, GibJim being ice cold, and 42% from the stripe as a team were more important factors than anything EZ did.
  9. 2 weeks off and this is the product on the floor? Ford must go.
  10. We’re excellent at turnovers so there’s that.
  11. Definitely overly emotional. Seems to me he wants to be playing as much as coaching which is why he's always stepping on the court or going too far onto the court. Can't believe he isn't warned more for how far and how often he ventures out there. There've been times when it looked like we had a sixth defender on the floor when he's three feet off the sideline and waving his arms around. I think his strength is designing baseline OB plays and plays out of timeouts, but in general, our offense is boring and predictable. As much as anything, SLU is going to have to pony up the cash to get better players or whoever the coach is becomes irrelevant.
  12. The upcoming recruiting class/portal additions will be the make or break class for the Tillet regime. Last year’s class of single digit scoring jucos is giving the lack of results one would expect. Recruiting has to improve greatly or it will be back to the drawing board soon.
  13. 5-9 FGCU knocks off #7 FAU last night after going to OT to defeat NAIA Florida Memorial in its previous game. Anything can happen which is why I’m optimistic that the Bills can wi…, forget that, everything sucks and fire the coach yesterday.
  14. Time to start a grassroots movement for a change of WBB coach?
  15. A-10 8-1 so far today against D-1 teams. Only casualty was a shocking upset of The Steel Six of LaSalle as they succumbed at home to Howard, 71-66.
  16. Good article here about Lassina Traore’s journey to Long Beach where he connected with fellow countryman, Aboubacar Traore. They’re not related although both are from Ivory Coast. Last night versus Fullerton State they combined for 39 pts and 39 boards in an 81-71 win. Lassina had 20 and 17. The Beach is 9-4 on the year. https://www.presstelegram.com/2022/12/28/long-beach-states-traores-reunite-in-unexpected-basketball-journey/amp/
  17. Sad ending for Mr. Parks. Was shot and killed in a St. Louis bar in ‘78. As close as I followed the ABA and as much as read about it over the years, I’m surprised I hadn’t heard of him.
  18. LOL Did they stop teaching reading comprehension in St. Louis schools? I addressed the NC State guards who played as good of defense as you’ll see. I don’t give a damn one way or the other if Ford coaches here. What I don’t like is the general run of uninformed gibberish about Ford or SLU basketball of which you seem to be the leader.
  19. Expanding on the 2nd half turnover spree, from the score 48-43 Bills, over the next 19 possessions, the Bills committed 10 turnovers, had 5 FG attempts, and went 7-8 from the line. Addjng insult to injury, State hit 7 threes in that stretch and outscored us 35-11. 6’4 guard Jayden Taylor was the one putting all the ball pressure on Meadows and Medley and that guy defends like his next meal depends on it. Maybe the best 40 mins. of ball pressure I’ve ever seen. He was like a roadblock that completely stymied our guards.
