No one stepped up yesterday or during any other loss this season. That's the problem with this team, players consistently fail to show up in big games. It is a team wide problem - not a single person's problem. Give me a break. With that said: the Billikens are awesome and it is going to be even more awesome watching them in the tournament. So calling KC out for "underachieving" is cool, but then it isn't necessary to call out other players because it won't accomplish anything? Huh? Look, there are several people that are currently underachieving on this team. Yes, the team is 16-5. It could very well be 18-3 if some people would play up to their potential. And sorry I'm not excited that the team "has already won 4 more games than they did all of last year." Last year was f'n terrible.

This whole conversation was started when people started blaming KC for the loss yesterday. This thread was about our road trip, not a referendum on the entire season.

No excuses. Exactly right. The team played ######. No way around it. This is a message board. These are the most dedicated fans of the Billikens. Pretty sure they deserve all the satisfaction they receive from a Billikens' win and they have every right to ***** after a Billikens' loss. When the Billikens go dancing this board will be euphoric.

I agree. Like I previously said, I only jumped into this conversation to point out how dumb it was to blame the loss today on the 7th/8th man. Whether Kyle has been a disappointment this season is not something I'm getting into. BILLS

LOL! Thanks, I haven't missed a game yet this year. He didn't play starters minutes, so why does it matter that he starts? He played 12 minutes. Twelve. Jett played 23 and McCall played 21. He practically is the 7th or 8th man. Next.

You know who else needs to step up? Kwamain. Do I wish Kyle would play better? Obviously. But his stagnant offense is not the reason this game was lost. That was why I jumped into this whole discussion in the first place. You know who else is supposed to be a senior? Kwamain. He's also had four years under RM and has completely regressed from his Sophomore year. He has the potential to be infinitely better, yet he hasn't shown up the last several games. He got worked against Kevin Dilllard, Lyons & Holloway, and now that midget on Umass. I expected more.

So we have a two game sample size of his reduced minutes. The team is 1-1 in those games. In the game they win it is because Kyle played less minutes. In the game that they lost, the team lost because everyone else played horrible. So when it's bad - blame KC. When it's good - everyone else gets credit.

Dude you are barking up the wrong tree. Kyle played 12 minutes today. TWELVE. Kwamain played 36 minutes. His stat line: 36 2-9 0-4 0-0 1 1 2 2 0 2 5 4 2 assists and 4 points from your starting point guard. That is awful.

5 quick thoughts: 1) Missing free throws at the rate the team misses them is unacceptable. I'm tired of hearing "if the team hit their free throws." It doesn't happen (sans the Xavier game). It happens far too often that "if we just hit free throws" the game would be different. Look at the UNCC game as the most recent example. It's got to stop. 2) Manning has to just awful in practice to not get minutes 3) KM is not the same player. Tired of waiting for him to break out. He got OWNED by Umass today. He had has many air balls as points. 4) JJ could be amazing if he hit his free throws 5) I'm worried we are about to see the Conklin of last year. Hurt ankle = a ton of missed bunnies. Overall: 1-1 is okay with me. Not the way I thought it would go, but whatever. Sucks that 2-0 was a real possibility and the team let it slip out of their hands. Edit: Slufan13 raises a valid point. How is KC catching flack for this game? Dwayne, Cory, and Kwamain all played far worse than he did.
