  1. 1st place in the A-10, saint Bonaventure leads 38-36 at halftime!
  2. hey, do they sell beer at chaifetz? I think I just saw a middle age woman drinking a Stag in a bottle!
  3. why the hell is this game tied 33-33 with 3:48 to go in 1st half?
  4. what's the name of the other guy that broadcasts with rammer? He just saw the worst call ever! on a mis-called hand check
  5. Bills 27-SBU 24 @ 7:41 in 1st half
  6. you can hear it much better with headphones.
  7. As usual, everybody is focusing on offense. This makes sense, because the majority of stats are all offense oriented, and points must be scored in order to win games. But, I'm pretty sure that Coach Majerus is more interested in the defensive development of his players. Pretty much everybody on the team has improved in this regard compared to last year. Cody Ellis and Mike McCall are excellent examples of this. The success of the Billikens this year is mainly a result of the team defense. Without that, the rest doesn't matter much.
  8. I believe there was a CUSA tournament in Chicago too. Bills were one and done; lost on Thurs. afternoon before I even got there!
  9. I think we're better than everybody in the league. Which means everybody else on the schedule, plus Temple. But, I'll qualify that by saying that our "A" game is better than any other A-10 teams "A" game. The problem of course is consistency. The Bills have been playing their "B" game for long stretches in several games, which led, and will lead to more "L"'s, unless they do become more consistent. Of course many here have brought this up already, and all teams have this problem from time to time. Ultimately, the winner of the A-10 conference title ( a conference with a lot of parity) is going to be which one of the top 4 or 5 teams that plays their "A" game the most consistently. The solution isn't so much KM getting his scoring mojo back, or hitting our freethrows, or benching KC, it's playing together as a team for nearly 40 minutes. That's the way they played against Washington, and many of the teams in the Anaheim tournament. ...and it starts on defense. Some will disagree, especially with the way things have been going in the NFL lately, but, in almost every sport, a strong defense will beat a strong offense.
  10. By any chance, do either of you guys employ the "picket fence" into your offensive schemes?
  11. My opinion is the same as Coach Majerus'. If we play the same defense in the 1st half as in the 2nd half, SLU wins. The other stuff doesn't matter.
  12. I'd say Coach Majerus is limiting Kyle's minutes more for bad defense than bad offense.
  13. Agreed. All of the games lost so far, for the most part, were a result of a breakdown in team defense for long stretches during the game. Coach Majerus said it himself in his post game rant: " All you have to do is get your nose in the chest and defend," he said. "I don't care if we didn't shoot well. You can always defend" and, " Forget about the missed free throws of the turnovers. All that stuff is bull (expletive). We didn't come out and play. They exceeded us in intensity level and they won." If this team give up 45 points in a half to a UMAss, or 49 points to a Loyola Marymount, they're going to lose. It's not going to matter if KC increases his output to 8 or 10 points/game.
  14. Yeah, i felt the same way after the LMU, NM, Dayton, and Temple games. But, I still agree with you.
  15. KC could be SLU's version of former Spirit of St. Louis player, M.L. Carr, who was probably the greatest bench sitter of all time, when he didn't play for the Celtics. Some believe that It was M.L.'s towel waving that was the straw that broke the camel's back to help the Celtics beat the Laker's in the 1984 NBA finals.
  16. Oh...one more thought just squeezed through my rage...I could care less if we win the regular season A-10 title...I just want the Bills to go to the Big Dance!
  17. Here's the only thoughts I have right now: GOD DAMNIT MOTHER ###### SON OF A *****!!! I'll try to check back in a few hours with an update.
  18. It's gut-check time! I still predict a W!
  19. The data on this website is all the proof I need to know that the selection process at the Boston area schools is severely flawed! They probably rely far too much on outdated criteria like SAT scores and GPA, and not on the other assets that a student may possess. Hats off to UMass! No wonder Dr. J went there.
  20. Maybe some words are harder to translate through lip reading than others?
  21. Hopefully, your next step after dislike will be HATE! Hate-fests are a lot more fun and intersting than dislike. But, I'm sure the words I saw were after the technical was called. It did have to do with the missed out of bounds call.
  22. I noticed in my post above that part of coach Mack's graphically enraged, expetive-filled, epithet was censored, so i'll rewrite here it in easily understandable code, so that the reader can get full shock value: F##king bull****!
  23. More on topic- what was it that coach Mack did, or said to get that technical? Because AFTER the technical was given, it was obvious that he screamed, "###### bull****!" Apparently, it's allright to scream that out in the middle of a Jesuit get-together. Luckily, my 10 yr old daughter, who was watching the game with me, doesn't have lip reading skills as refined as mine. I did record the game, and just to verify what I believe that I had seen, I asked our deaf nanny to verify my translation. She embarrasedly did so, and then she went on and sign languaged to me some more interesting information. She is a Mormon, and grew up in Utah. According to her, several generations ago, her people had a falling out with the Young clan, and that's why she despises BYU, and thus is a big Utah fan. She also loves Coach Majerus, because he coached a deaf player at Utah, and she's been following Majerus ever since he coached at Utah, and has seen him in many games, both live and on TV. Well, she claims, the worst she's ever read out of his mouth was "Gosh Darn-it!", and that was as the Utes were blowing a 12 point 2nd half lead over kentucky in the 1998 Final Four. I'd say that is a pretty stark contrast to the foul-mouthed leader of the thugs at Xavier!
  24. Yeah, right...I thought the subject of this thread was "Xavier Hate-Fest"! So, can we please get back to the hating?
  25. As in Springfield, Mo? Who cares? It's a total ###### hole! Not anywhere close to A-10 standards. But, if you're referring to U-Mass; they are located in Amherst, MA, and I don't know anything about their facilities.
