  1. What a distraction for the players during exam week
  2. Just got an email from SLU saying that there was racial harassment very early Saturday morning near Laclede...i wonder if these could be related in any way?
  3. who agrees with the girl who said that it is fair to the students to hear names of who it was?
  4. guess i gotta watch the news now
  5. I don't know if this is good, bad, or what...and hopefully there is nothing wrong with saying this, but a lot of players facebook pages are back up....don't know what to take from that....
  6. I am not accusing anyone at all, and I won't accept that anything happened until it is proven. It just seemed to me like we had so many high character guys on our team. I've heard the rumors on who it was, and it just seemed to me like those would be 2 of the most unlikely. We'll find out soon I guess. I don't know much about the legal procedure, but I have to think that charges have to be filed and names have to be released soon. edit: and i am by no means calling the victim a liar by saying that i won't accept it until it is proven...i am more saying that i won't accept that it was a member of the team until it is proven.
  7. if i understood this correctly, Femi John is done with a medical hardship?
  8. getting ready to listen...should be interesting
  9. I really don't want it to be members of the team, but I don't think that the majority of the players would have shut down their facebook accounts if no members of the team are involved in any way.....
  10. I think we are all worried about playing time and stuff like that, but I just think that its part of the game that you have 3 guys or so on the bench who see very little time all year. I don't know this for sure, but I would think that with a team like Duke, they have 3-4 bench guys who were high school stars, but just aren't at the same level as the rest(no offense to them or anyone who plays that role). I think that Jett is a good signing and you see now that teams with great guard play seem to go the furthest. Majerus and his staff are very good and I don't see them recruiting over people if they didn't think it would be better for the team. We have the class balance now, and that's good. I honestly think that we should crack the top 25 at some point next year. I think we could be one of the deepest teams in the A10,(at least guard-wise)...more thoughts later, maybe....
  11. Majerus took over a program that was, like we agreed on, mediocre at best....To fix it quickly, he brought in really good, but really big recruiting classes. Now people have to leave to even out the classes. We loved being the youngest team, but if we want to continue to build, you sometimes have to do things that are out of the ordinary. I criticized JJ on this board before, but I also don't want to see him leave. He had great moments, and also out of control and very poor moments. I wish him well and hope he can be a starter for a mid major level team. I think we all agree that he was going to be towards the bottom of the depth chart this year and hopefully it will work out for him to leave, whether he was forced out or if he left on his own accord.
  12. I don't know how you can say that yet. I know the rankings are somewhat crap, but Jordair has a very high rating by ESPN, and was recruited by some big time D1 schools. Sure, you could be right..but I just think it's a little early to say that.
  13. I thought JJ had a solid year, but you have to think no matter who's decision it was that it was better for JJ. KM, KC, CS, MM would all have been in front of him in playing time eventually I would think, and with DE and CE maybe playing the 3, that takes away another guard spot technically, so his playing time was definitely going to take a cut. I think he could be a solid player on a mid major type team. He seems to be the type of guy who would have fit well on Cornell this year, where they have a lot of freedom to shoot from 3 on offense. I was disappointed with JJ at times this year, but you never want to see anyone leave. I wish him well. You have to think that Jett will probably be coming in now. I expect that he will just join the guard rotation. I don't mind having all these guards because we say how tired we got at the end of this past year. I think him and MM would be a very scary guard duo by their junior year.
  14. +1 I spent a lot of time in class reading other teams' boards and the A10 board...good to see that we are getting some attention still...
  15. i was just going to post this.....Thank God....makes it tougher for us to get in, but I think we are getting in the tourney either way, and I'd rather get in with 68 teams than 96....finally money doesn't come in the way of a decision.....
  16. I found this article earlier tonight on Tim. Sounds like he's been playing great. He deserves the attention. This article is really good. http://www.socceramerica.com/article/37696...e-tim-ream.html
  17. I have a hard time seeing Majerus and the staff going after a guy if they didn't have a plan for him. I really loved this years' team and I don't want to see those starters and top bench players get pushed way down the depth chart, but at the same time, I think we are all ready for another NCAA tournament appearance.
  18. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology Didn't make the 65 team field for next year......They are doing a 96 team field tomorrow.... I think we deserve the 65 team field, but I can also understand them not having us in there since as of now. If we don't get in the 96 team field, then we know that this as a joke.
  19. O man. I'm hurt. I'm from Waterloo, went to Gibault, and was neighbors with Chris Braun, and he played basketball in our driveway from time to time. I'm serious about that too. Chris should have been more than an honorable mention player, but obviously he wasn't a star at SLU. I agree with you on Loe though. He'll be fine. Give him some coaching, and actually put him in a system where you play offense and defense and he'll contribute. Last night had the feel of an NBA game at times. Give him a 4 months of practicing with his team, and he'll contribute a lot next year.
  20. True, but he's still gotta be pretty good if he was named to the team. Plus, he still got a lot of experience with the practices and he also got a little taste of what he's gonna be up against, and he knows he needs to work hard at it this summer.
