  1. Go back and look. What are the best wins during Ford's tenure? Seriously. LSU? Va Tech? Seton Hall? In 6 seasons.

It seems like every year we drop a few games we shouldn't (which happens to most teams), but we also never win a few games we shouldn't either.

Take this year as a prime example. We split with UAB and Belmont (both at home btw). We split with the welders. We take care of business against UMass, and we are 21-6 and in decent shape for a bid. It seems as if every season is like this.

I don’t get this crap.  This is the team Ford assembled.  They are his recruits.  They are coached by him and execute the game plan he comes up with.  He deserves blame for this.

And save me the Perkins is out crap.  Perkins wasn’t go to be on this team without the bonus year.  Every disappointing year has some excuse made.  the situation, Covid, Perkins, etc.  The results are the results. Six seasons with one NCAA tournament appearance and zero top 3 finishes in the conference.

    He deserves blame.

Thank you!!! Been thinking this for several years.

If St. Bonaventure makes that wide open 3 at the end of the A-10 Championship game, Goodwin and French, two of the best Billikens of all time, would have ZERO NCAA Tournament appearances. And it's not like we've consistently made the NIT either.

Since no ones talking about it, what’s the consensus on all those auburn fans in SLU’s comments on twitter?

    Hoosiers gonna hoos.

KD Johnson talking trash about our student section after the game was particularly entertaining.

McKissic was told that there will be 3 zoom calls made to potential guards but that Self will be bringing in only two for next year.  Brandon did the virtual tour and Bill Self analyzed his game.  They had a good conversation.  Self will be calling him again tomorrow.  Brandon also picked up offers from Florida and UCONN.  Brandon also heard from SLU today.

Also heard today that there is a possibility of Goodwin returning next year.

Thanks for this. I really thought there was a strong possibility Goodwin/French could have a change of heart. A LOT has happened since January when he declared there was "no chance" he'd be back.

The options going into next year (overseas, G-League) are less attractive given the level of uncertainty (travel restrictions, lockdowns, etc). In terms of exposure, coming back to SLU and being on a potentially highly-ranked squad with a chance to go deep in the Tourney is tough to beat.

McKissic coming would be the cherry on top.

Chicago Sun Times listed candidates for the  DePaul job , mentioned Ford

Lucky for us that BOTH Oliver Purnell AND Jerry Wainwright are available so DePaul will undoubtedly pick one of those coaching titans over Ford.

AND Pat Kennedy is still around. A treasure trove of coaching talent is at DerpAul's disposal!

The timing of this getting dropped is what I think is interesting.  This wasn't CIA secret level stuff, people knew.  It was timed to drop when it would cause the most damage to Ford and not necessarily the program.

Maybe. If we had made the Tournament last night, this becomes a bit less impactful (but still a serious issue).

  7. Unfortunately, I don't think we will get in. But, it IS worth noting that most Bracketologists are off by 1-3 teams every year. I think Lunardi has correctly predicted an average of 66.5 out of 68 teams since the field expanded to 68. And this year is more uncertain than most. So his bracket likely has 1-2 spots of 'wiggle' room.

That baseline move and reverse layup in the second half was seriously key to shifting momentum and getting us back on track. He is so smooth. This is what a solid program with stability brings! A player with lots of talent comes in and plays spot roles their first two years but doesn’t leave! They stay the course cuz they know by junior and senior year they will be needed and their role is defined by the staff. We are so deep it’s crazy.

He had a quiet 2nd half, but that baseline move saved our ass. LSU had just gone on a 9-2 run and were gearing up to get a big stop. Perkins was gassed on that possession, too. We needed it.
