  1. The name Brown Indians saying goodbye, I get. Same with a lot of others. Colonials certainly can be an offensive term, in a certain context. But, it really makes me wonder where this will end. Technically, Tigers kill people. Bears, lions, wildcats, and wolves have to be offensive to the families they have hurt. Anyway… Good day to be a Billiken!
  2. This, right now, is the deepest team in SLU history. I think Ford feels like he owes Thames, Thatch, and the current players, to disprove their ability to play the point before adding more depth. Just to be clear, Thatch was our best backup PG at the end of this season. He can’t bring the ball up the court alone, but he can take his man to the basket and look for a kick out, or other pass. Perkins can do that as well. That is really what we need from a backup. If Thames shows he can really handle the point, issue closed.
  3. Parker and Kramer. Kramer put up surprising point totals for BBE, on few minutes. Can he be hot off the bench 5-10 minutes per game?
  4. Please god, do not let them rush him back onto the court.
  5. I don’t think anyone on this board wanted to face the Iron 5 again, but outside of that we are not really anti-Bonnie, nor do we want any excess ill on that program. Let’s face it, a super tall, low defense, stretch 4 is not really Mark Schmidt’s style of play anyway.
  6. This post needs to be flagged for inappropriate commentary. You are being put on a watch list.
  7. This is such an awesome post. I kind of liked the idea of Conklin, now I am fired up about it. Good for him to fight for it.
  8. Maybe Larry Brown is tired of all the drama in Memphis.
  9. I don’t know. What did Giacolletti recruit, international players? If so, one would think that Conklin would have a leg up on most assistants. I thought Giacolletti was on the staff for his X’s and O’s Contribution. If so, I am not sure who would be the best replacement. I noted Cuonzo, but in the current environment, I am not sure where we could turn. Someone with ties to Mark Few, Jay Wright, Davidson, or any of the teams with a modern offense.
  10. I have no idea what to think of this retirement. It will be interesting to see how the team changes with a new coach. Hopefully, we do not regress. Not sure who to expect, but Cuonzo is available. Also, that weird Conklin tweet might make more sense if he gets hired. Interesting.
  11. The second leading score for MU goes to SLU, the leading scorer for MSU goes to MU. Interesting musical chairs in the state.
  12. I have never seen a Gates coached team. He clearly can recruit the transfer circuit. Almost all Mizzou teams have been fairly undisciplined, except for the height of the Anderson and Norm Stewart years. I kind of expect an undisciplined team that makes the tournament, but doesn’t really deserve it.
  13. He is a phenomenal scorer. However, he had 2.7 TO’s last year. Always a little bit sloppy with the ball. Maybe it was just his team. We will see.
  14. Amazing. They actually have the strength to avoid fruitless errands?
  15. Witchita state is maybe a better option.
  16. Is that because he would take them to the Iraq?
  17. When do new players show up and summer practices begin?
  18. Good job on changing the name! It takes a big man to have self awareness.
  19. Just need to leave Mizzou off the list, add Eville, as Mizzou would not deign to give this their lofty attention. Call it the Missouri Compromise.
  20. If I were the coaches, I would bring in Thames, and the current team, this summer and see how he handles himself in practice, just like we did with Williams last year. If we need someone, get them, and if not, don’t.
  21. If he had waited for MOSt to lose Mobley, then I think they would have grabbed him in a second. We will never know.
  22. It’s a four letter word. Thames can spell it all day with his eyes closed.
  23. 2 years. Also, the thing from those articles shows that he committed to a school (Oakland), then switched prep schools, and immediately decommitted. Maybe the old coach pressured him to commit to Oakland and it felt off? Wouldn’t be the first example of a person connected to a recruit getting benefits for influence.
