  1. Former Billiken assistant Tanner Bronson is on the staff there as well.
  2. The Hyland Center is pretty small. Right there with Fordham and LaSalle. But given LU’s ambitious nature I wouldn’t be shocked if an expansion or new build comes before too long. At least if the football team’s revenues grow.
  3. Full schedule announced today. Looks like the first half of their season will be played at Hermann, the second half at SIUE, and the final game at the fully-armed and operational Centene Stadium. https://www.stlcitysc.com/news/st-louis-city2-to-host-first-ever-mls-next-pro-match-vs-rochester-new-york-fc
  4. Every home buy game against a Central Arkansas or Mississippi Valley that could have been against a Lindenwood, SEMO, or SIUE is just needlessly leaving a few $$ on the table. And since the team is usually out of sorts in their first true road game of the season, it couldn’t hurt for it to be against a weaker opponent where at least SLU fans can make the trip.
  5. If we can’t out-draw their alums at Chaifetz we may as well shut it all down.
  6. One of the Post articles did say 10% of the students are athletes. It is what they’ve done to differentiate themselves and I guess it has worked. The university is a lot different from the sleepy Presbyterian school is was pre-2000.
  7. I thought they were near the top of NAIA when Brad Soderberg was there but that was a few years back.
  8. Ford is doing quite well at recruiting and fairly well overall. But how is getting to a higher league going to help Ford when he can't win in the A10? I like the A10 and think if anything it doesn't get enough respect nationally. But anyone who thinks this SLU team would finish any higher than 3rd in the MWC, AAC, or WCC isn't paying attention. And I hate to say it but we'd be lucky to finish in the top half of the Big East.
  9. 2 straight games with some really careless fouls by Yuri.
  10. Ford has said he wanted to try it before seeing that one or both were getting in foul trouble every game.
  11. Forget the fact they’ve hit 6. That we’ve even let them take nine 3-pt attempts show we either have a poor game plan or the guys aren’t doing what they coaches have asked. You can’t go up against this team and not be trying to deny the perimeter shot.
  12. My goodness Gibson is hesitant. Has his confidence ever been lower as a Bill?
  13. St. Louis Sports Commission to bid on NIT in 2023 and 2024. Sure why not? Especially if it nets the program a few $$$.
  14. Didn’t Bonnie only have 1 FT attempt in the first half Friday night? And have you ever seen a college coach that didn’t complain about the refs at some point each season? I haven’t.
  15. Osunniyi got in the refs ear after the previous Okoro touch.
  16. SLU probably doesn’t beat Bonnie until Osunniyi moves on. Don’t want it to be true, but can’t deny it either.
  17. Did anyone think giving Schmidt and Ford each 3 days to prepare and counter would actually leave SLU with the advantage?
  18. If you told me Osunniyi would spend half the game on the bench with foul trouble I'd have guaranteed we win.
  19. As much as would have liked to see Jimmerson hit those open threes, what I REALLY would have liked is to see him box out and not give up two easy put-backs tonight.
  20. Speaking of Lindenwood, has anyone heard of a plan or timeline for them going D1? You have to think that’s their goal given how focused they are on athletics.
  21. Let’s not let all the technicalities of NCAA rules distract from the facts: Grant embarrassed himself. Barstool = Trash.
  22. Especially how little it has translated to results
  23. If SLU games were antidotal everyone would want in and the hospitals would be empty.
  24. Per Ford’s post game comments it sounds like there was something neither basketball or COVID related weighing in the players’ minds today but he didn’t elaborate.
