  1. Stallings would be ideal. He has won at a University that prides itself on academics, he has recruited great players in a very tough conference with schools that clearly don't share Vanderbilt's entrance requirements, and he can flat out coach. Now, please tell me why in the hell would he ever want to come here? Vanderbilt stands above SLU in every measurable category. His family has long since moved or passed away so the local attraction is not there. With all that being said, I am all in for making a run at Kevin Stallings, but it's not going to happen.
  2. No question ESL has D-1 talent, no question it is a place that a guy like Tony Young can change lives. The question is weather he will be allowed to do that. For some reason they allow their football coach to do whatever he wants, while holding the basketball coach accountable for everything. At East Side winning trumps everything...and I mean everything!
  3. No doubt! Roy is correct to in that Munson has D-1 talent.
  4. It's been a while since ESL has turned out any D-1 players of note. I do recall the kid SLU signed that couldn't play, but can't think of any others recently. East Side is not the hot bed of hoops it once was.
  5. Ellis just landed in Australia and is trying out this week. He posted that he was very honored and excited for the opportunity. I looked on their site and it didn't look like he was among the original 20 invited. But he is now. Good luck to Cody!
  6. News Conference is set for noon today to make the announcement. Great news!
  7. It would be a complete shock to me if East went out of District for this hire. They have several excellent candidates, with current assistant TJ Posey as the guy I would guess gets the job.
  8. Clagget and Tatum are both rumored as the front runners for the East St. Louis job as well.
  9. Curious as to how many orders you had? It is a very cool t-shirt!
  10. When a kid is 1st team All-State in Illinois and verbals to U of I after receiving offers and interest from most of the top programs in the country, you shouldn't need DaLove to tell you he can help us. Hill would take us to the elite level IMO, not only because of his talent, but I think other top St. Louis kids would then see SLU as a viable option. Get one local star and the ball may start rolling our way.
  11. Not at all. I saw Hughes play in high school. I just don't see Hill being a lottery pick after his freshman year like Hughes.
  12. Believe it! Roy is spot on. Hill reminds me a lot of Hughes, with the exception that he isn't a one and done. Hill needs development time, where Hughes did not. Roy would agree, but state that Hill is a year younger than his classmates. This kid could take us to the top 10 and be another RM Academic All American. A perfect fit for SLU! Wish his brother needed a heart
  13. I'd go with Donnie Dobbs, who was smaller and better than Conklin.
  14. Izzo is a stand up guy, who I am betting has gained a ton of respect for Majerus and the way the Bills played them. I wonder if any other Big10 team played them defensively the way SLU did? I wouldn't be surprised if Izzo want's to see more of the old master at work, and schedules us. Obviously, they don't fear playing these type of games. Refreshing to see.
  15. Ok, we get it... you don't get it!
  16. The man asked us to quit using the word. He has a child with Down Syndrome. He describes to his fellow SLU friends that is degrading and offensive, and to please stop. The only response is Sorry, we didn't mean to offend, and of course we will stop!
  17. I noticed that when I was in there today, after being given a discount coupon from some sweet Bills fan!
  18. I would bet the farm that if RM would spend 10 minutes with every Greek organization that he would own them. I would gladly trade some of his media time for some student time. Go see the kids! They would respond to him, and I think he would enjoy it.
  19. It was interesting to hear Coach Hariman talking with Rammer during the post game show about how the staff had several conversations with Lunardi over the summer in an effort to get our schedule more RPI and tournament committee friendly. Hariman said much of their scheduling this year and in the future will come from the conversations they had with Lunardi, and that he couild not have been more helpful to the Bills.
  20. Your post makes no sense at all, unless you just like to dis Roy everytime he makes a comment. Not exactly sure what your first sentence meant, but I assume you think this thread is the dumbest in history? Why? It's a good time to look at the RPI, SOS, and what it might take to get to the dance. I also enjoy seeing where the A-10 stands among conferences after non-conference games have mostly concluded. Sure, the RPI will change, but at the same time it is cool to see where we are and where our opponents stand going into conference play. And ya Rich, we all know the RPI needs to improve, now that we know what our RPI is, and of course conference standings are meaningless right now, conference play hasn't started yet. Got it. I think your post is far more assinine than Roy's.
  21. The problem with the officiating was that SLU takes the charge. Plain in simple, they get their ass in there and take the charge. The Bills did it over and over, only to have every single one of then, until a minute to go in the game, called blocks.
  22. Their school system was ranked last in the United States a few years back. Now that is saying something!
  23. I wish they would have given more free tickets away during this stretch of home games. SLU has a great product, yet struggles for respect on the local sports scene. No better way to show people what you have than giving them a free taste.
