  1. Give me some of whatever you are smoking!! Decline the NIT!!! SEC pedigree!! I will agree with you about Knollmeyer and Maguire. They are jokes.
  2. Listening today they all had their blue shots. Cusamano and Gordon practically did everything but predict a Billiken sweep in the tournament this weekend. Ramsey was a big more guarded but not much. After all the problems with Bernie it's nice to see some of the media recognizing how well we've been playing the last few weeks and really have a shot in this tournament.
  3. It's like a daily shot to the ribs he has to give the Billikens. The guy had such a woody over SLU and Spoonhour in Charlie's first few years it was almost embarrassing. Now he does everything to ridicule us. What's amazing to me is that SLU is doing as much if not more now to get the job done with things like the new arena, than they were back then and still he has to bash.
  4. I agree completely. Yes it's disappointing but I'd rather watch the Bills play than not watch them.
  5. We are playing as well as we've played all year. We have beaten just about every decent team in the conference. We are over .500 in the conference in the league and certainly could win the conference tourney. A lot of these guys act like we won't even get an NIT bid.
  6. Then why did Brad begin his hiring press conference by talking about a national championship?
  7. That's exactly the point I was making. He absolutely NEVER describes the team as anything but "Saint Louis". He never identifies them with St. Louis University, either via that or "SLU" or "St. Louis U." I have just found it strange. He started that maybe 2 years ago? I guess I'm listening to the broadcasts more now that none of the games are on TV.
  8. I've noticed the last year or two he absolutely will not use either of those phrases. He always says "Saint Louis" as if he's talking to some kind of national audience. Anybody else notice this? Not flaming him, it's just a little weird.
  9. Is it smart? Is it stubbornness? I guess sometimes I don't understand why you wait and wait and wait and the sign a complete project like Horace Dixon outside the normal signing periods.
  10. It's strange. He's the only person I know who signs his full name at the end of a post on an Internet board. I wonder if he's trying to suck up to Miklasz by doing that. Very strange.
  11. discussion and analysis on this subject that people like Billiken Roy and courtside don't want want to hear.
  12. how about "one of the four authors of the gospels." It's not like Roy is one of those. Is that better?
  13. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John That was what I was referring to.
  14. I would have to agree about the "bullying". The guy seems to take everything so personally. He is very bitter against certain people and teams in college basketball and it's more than just fun "rivalry" stuff. It is deeply rooted. He probably needs to look himself in the mirror once in awhile. It's basketball not life and death. An Internet board is a place for different opinions and ideas, not one group shouting down anyone that disagrees with them.
  15. It's a flippin' Internet board. It's not like we lost one of the four apostles from the Bible. Give it a rest. This place will go forward just like Billiken basketball.
  16. Quote from Frank Cusamano on KFNS one week before spring signing day.
  17. There is still a ton of season left. I'm not a kool-aid drinker by any means, but I agree this team has shown flashes of being VERY good. They could still finish with a very good conference record and a good seed in the conference tourney. And if they win the conference tourney all goals have been met anyway. I do agree with Roy and a few others that the hand wringing is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY premature for this year.
  18. No but I do think there was an OVER emphasis on the non-conference this year. As soon as we won a couple of games Ramsey and the spin doctors started going on and on how we 11th in the RPI, 13th in the RPI blah blah blah and how great the Pacific road win was going to be from an RPI point of view etc. We were too fat and happy. Did you listen to any of the early coach's shows? Ramsey and Soderberg were obsessed with RPI. It was like half of the first couple shows talking about how Brad had locked himself in his office for five days over the summer and figured out how to practically "schedule us" into the tournament. I think what we really needed to do is do what most teams do. Focus on the conference and do everything to win that or get as high a seed as possible in the conference tourney. Instead we started off terribly in the league. Call a lack of focus or whatever you like. That's just my impression.
  19. I believe Brad's offseason obsession with RPI and thinking he had a "bracketology proof" schedule has led to some early smugness by people like Ramsey. The problem is that RPI IS overvalued and your RPI is more than your OOC schedule, it also get take a big hit when you lose to crappy conference teams that had terrible out of conference schedules themselves.
  20. Ramsey says he "doesn't want to talk about the A-10 decision" that it is "old news". I agree to a point. But on the other hand he says he doesn't understand the media and fan criticism of Brad because he's 12-7. To me the problem lies in the media and fan perception of the conference. The feeling is that it's so bad that if the Bills don't go 14-2 with road losses to St. Joe's and Temple it is somehow a "failure". That's the real problem. I think if SLU was 4-2 instead of 2-4 you'd still have a lot of the same criticisms going on. To listen to media people like Slaten SLU has to go undefeated in its NC to have a chance at an at large bid which is absurd. Until the conference gets its act together both TV wise and on the court I think even winning conference records won't be accepted. A lot of the these "critics" think we should be 14-2 every year.
  21. Anybody hear him today? He pointed to an "arrogant" attitude in recruiting kids from this coaching staff and even the prior staff. Says this staff cannot afford to be so choosy and "sit on scholarships" like they are a wise poker player. Their bluff has been called too many times and they have ended up with squat.
  22. I couldn't agree with your points more.
  23. with the local media is they consider the A-10 a joke. They think SLU should march through the league undefeated and if we don't, something is wrong. Most of them couldn't list more than four coaches in the league, including BS.
  24. I admit I have not heard him do so but that guy has pumped Brad for so long to turn on him now would be unbelievable. You don't tell a fan base what a gem they have for 4 1/2 and then turn on him after a few conference losses.
