There is middle ground between what i said “preparing/bracing for a pandemic” and “spend trillions of dollars and agree to destroy the economy with a shutdown”
You do see how those aren’t the same thing right?
I give you credit for lasting this whole thread and still trying to convince Billiken Roy ...it hasn't happened on any topic for a decade so your persistence is amazing

“this is not the flu," Trump said. He said some executives with "great common sense" suggested that the U.S. "ride it out" and not do mitigation. "This is not to be ridden out." He is finally saying that we could have as high as 2.2 million fatalities, with no mitigation.
Donald's normal behavior....he was the leader of it's the flu businessmen he is now discarding....wasn't long ago he tweeted the cure can't be worse than the disease ...not sure what changed his tune other than his own political survival

Wow. Continually ignoring people who disagree with you shows the board everything we need to know about you. If people would step outside of their echo chambers, we would be a lot better off as a society.
Agreed. The board mirrors society where depending on your chosen media taking point of view that is all people believe.
Yes the flu killed 37K and car crashes killed 38K but the truth is that if you open your mind and LISTEN to experts the potential is there to kill millions in just America which would affect everyone on this board.
51 doctors have died in Italy ...ever here of a doctor losing their life during flu season? It is not the flu and is not a hoax or many smart people would not have taken the steps to mitigate it's potential damage if it was .

You own or run a business...hire a person who can't do the job. Great person but inadequate do you just keep them (don't think so) or do you try and find a better fit or suggest they try another option ( probably) . Travis I believe will handle things as he should given his responsibility as the coach. If he didn't and had a Jim crews mess on his hands we would want him fired and wonder why the team had no talent.

I watched him at Crispus Attucks HS in Indy. His triple double season in the NBA was the GOAT. It was much tougher to do in 1962 than it is today.
I lived in Ohio so went to a couple of games in 62 as an 8 year old falling in love with basketball. Met Oscar on the floor during warm-ups and that same year was able to stand next to Wilt to see how tall he was... different times then.

Our priorities in hoops seem to be to win and doing what it takes to win. And that is where I want them to be. If you want to walk the walk so to say in all other sports and maybe sacrifice some wins to do so, I’m fine with that. But with hoops, just win baby and I think that is in line with our current program. Hopefully we see Jacobs in Brooklyn as we make another run!
If Jacobs the ghost remains unseen not sure it makes a difference other than a depth issue...TJ playing better and we did it going 6-7 deep last year.

Im confused by the senerio of:
If SLU wins & URI loses and DUQ wins. All three teams are then tied with the same conference record of 12-6
Duq beat us twice.
We beat URI
URI beat DuqIf the next tie breaker is overall winning percentage.
We will be 23-8
Duq 22-8
URI 20-10Carter's take has another mistake...we would not be 5th if all 3 win Saturday...we would be 6th

Crutcher at the buzzer is worse. That rims out and we’re a 8/9 seed
True but that was a while ago and we should have never blown that lead ..went conservative and stopped playing to win . We played to win today and kept pushing the ball.

CBS at the half said Rhode Island’s loss today was a “really bad loss” . How about a little respect for the Billikens.
-
That UMass loss blowing a 16 point lead still hurts.
-
With Hargrove improving Jacobs who definitely was the ghost today is not needed as much.

JImmy "The Locomotive" Bell is player of the game. He came up huge today.
He was huge when we needed him !

JGood, bad shot and then worse defensive play. You're better than that
JGood makes at least 3 bad decisions every game..love him but needs to clean that up

Gotta love Yuri on that play . Rather than take a difficult a difficult layup , gather a redistribute to Jgood.

10-4 on fouls is total bs when RI is pushing the players like Bell and fouling Perkins.
The turnovers are SLU’s fault 9 is too many and the reason they did not score 30 in the half.
The reason is Yuri being out with stupid touch fouls...we are not the same offense without him to distribute the rock.
-
Billiken Roy said it earlier this year ...we are better when we run . Yes we make some mistakes but it keeps the team more energized on both ends of the floor
-
Travis is so predictable...start the second half with your same starting 5 even though it’s obvious Jacobs is not playing well and Bell does not match up well in this game...lost our mojo again
-
Why not start the team that ended the first half so strong ...slowing it down is how we lose our leads

Yuri is the straw that stirs the drink. Go back and watch the season.... without him we may have won 18 games. Had some turnover issues as he was learning but shot well enough over the last half of the season to overcome people laying off. Handles the ball so well and has such great court vision that defenses still play him tight....no matter how many shots he takes.
