I think of some of the big men that wore a slu uniform, tadyshak, melroy butler. sekue. Bell was not a top 100 and nobody said he was , i do not understand the constant badgering of that young man. there have been very few bigs produce as freshman for the billikens

I know we like to speculate on what lineups and starters should be, but we are 7-1 so ford might have some idea of what he is doing. lets see if he changes things up as we get into the tougher part of the schedule

your take on him was that he would ride the pine, he certainly has exceeded your expectations. no one thought he would be a starter before the season but coach ford has him starting, thus he has exceeded most fans expectations. he is not a polished five, and nobody has said as much he is giving the team some solid minutes and will likely get better

He is well ahead of most expectations and will only get better. bc likely was a loss without his first half play

CF recruited goodwin and french, i believe he will continue to recruit. of course they will be tough to replace but that is college baskeball the roster always changes ford will find players

looking back at an old post, didnt know at the time he would be THE LOCOMOTIVE , but here he is. this team is going to be a lot of fun to watch for the next few years

It may simply be that CF knows he needs to bring jb along and is giving him minutes now, because he knows he needs him ready later. Those 4 or 5 minutes in earlier games certainly paid off against BC. I dont disagree with your point, just Cf might be playing the long game here

Jimmy Bell has gotten a bit better each game, he scored five of our 24 first half pts. and kept it from being a disaster. THE LOCOMOTIVE will be one of our all time favorites before his career is over

i am quite sure ford would rather have an impact player rather than a project. impact bigs go to power 5 schools generally not the a-10. i am sure he hoped that gordon and santos would be on this team, but they are not. so you go with what you have

fully agree, this board initially said jimmy bell was so out of shape he couldnt play a minute, now he is criticized for not being "dominate" on the glass. not sure why he has become the favorite whipping boy five games into his freshman year, i think reasonable people will give him time to learn d-1 ball, it will take longer than five games

the west pine gym was an absolute dump, locker room was awful. i could go on and on. most high school gyms were better

this team will get there, it takes some time to get this many new guys going.
