  1. Start showing me the players Weber recruited and developed that have made it to the dance in the numbers RM did then we can talk. And just so you know Sheltie, there is a hell of a lot of players at KU who will be making the jump to the NBA over the next two years. Self is the one producing the Carolina/Duke numbers, Weber has been producing Brad like numbers.
  2. With the recent changes that have been made, we are all thinking to small. SLU has positioned itself to be a leader in a realignment process instead of a followerer or a program hoping to get asked to join. The best thing that could happen is the Big East having a blow-up between basketball and football. If that doesn't happen in a few years you look to form a new conference only of similar schools. It doesn't have to be a 14 team conference. All you need is 8-10 schools that are the right schools. If you would have some kind of combo of SLU, XU, Dayton, St Joes, Creighton, Loyola, Charlotte, Butler, GW, Fordham, Bradley, and a Detroit Mercy you have a league that would be perfect. You have a combination of teams that are proven winners, have large media makets, and/or located in hot beds of high school talent.
  3. Majerus's hiring has him intrested in SLU. Before this I thought SLU had zero chance with him. All reports I have heard is he is having a good AAU season so far.
  4. He is being brought in and paid a ton of money so we won't be taking chances on kids. If the expectation was we were going to take chances on kids next year we should have kept Brad. You do not take chances with kids we you are paying a coach $1 million plus and opening a $85 million plus building. You better get a good amount of the best players in the area and supplement that with good talent from around the country. It will be expected for us to help pay for everything with increased ticket prices and some kind of psl, it better be worth the damn money. The administration has upped the ante and we better up our expectations.
  5. V you are definitely stretching it a long way. Thompson and Brandenberg both are ahead of him.
  6. He may become a contributor. I am not sure about a two year starter. He doesn't have the skill set or the ability that IV has. He would have to give maximum effort every night and max out his ability. He has an upside no where near IV. I wouldn't take a four year risk on him if you think you can land better next year. I think that they will get much better talent next year than him.
  7. Yeah I have them in their outfits. http://f7.yahoofs.com/users/453cfb80zad587...hA15OGBF54kSuSg http://f7.yahoofs.com/users/453cfb80zad587...hA15OGBHAYq1U1u http://f7.yahoofs.com/users/453cfb80zad587...hA15OGB6t2KJN7B

  10. We have the potential to be the new it program for the next couple of years. We have to get the results on the court, but the potential is there. After that comes the hard part, sustained success.
  11. SIU-C doesn't even come close. When they get their own beat writer at the Post and get their results covered on the local news come talk to me about that. In a few years they won't be the team getting the most coverage in town with SIU in their name.
  12. Plans to play man to man? I don't think it will, but a more distant three point line makes a zone more attractive than before. I just was wondering what everybody else thought about this.
  13. FIrst off Josh, SIU-C and MSU have never got more coverage than SLU on a consitent basis. Josh and Gary you don't need to worry about it. We will be in the A-10 for the foreseeable future. Josh hope you enjoy Evansville and Bloomington. "From: Josh You wrote a column about how you think Saint Louis University should join the Missouri Valley Conference. And I do see how they could benefit from this. But you never state why it would benefit the Valley and many fans have been wondering the same thing. They're at best the fifth option in their market as far as fans are concerned, and Southern Illinois and Missouri State already get more pub in St. Louis than SLU does. OK, this is easy. First, I'm not sure where SLU basketball ranks in the pecking order of the St. Louis market, but with Rick Majerus in charge it automatically goes up a few notches. Remember, that program has been missing the NCAA Tournament with a boring style of basketball under Brad Soderberg, but if it started making the NCAA Tournament with an exciting style of basketball under Rick Majerus, people would pay attention. As for everything else, the positives outweigh the negatives. If the MVC added SLU it would have, A) A new most-famous coach in the league, a new most-accomplished coach in the league, C) a new state-of-the-art facility in the league (that might rank only behind Creighton's), and D) another tie to the major media market that is St. Louis. SLU would be lucky to have the MVC and the MVC would be lucky to have SLU. It's a match made in Doug Elgin's heaven, and I think it'll eventually happen."
  14. How do you think Cuban feels about Nellie now?
  15. They will have to make some changes after this series. Nellie gave the whole league a blueprint on how to beat them in any future playoff series. That team will not win a series next year without some major changes.
  16. Ricky has the track record. Who would you trust when they say they can help put you in the NBA, Majerus, Anderson, or Weber? Majerus wins that argument.
  17. Just compare Harrellson and IV, did you? What a joke. It is not even close. IV was raw and needed a ton of work, but had far superior skills than anything Harrelson has ever displayed. V that is just a joke of a comparison.
  18. We could use a kid like that for the next two years, no doubt about that. Not every kid on your roster is going to be a star or has to be one. This team could use a guy that can give you minutes with out killing you when BH and AK get in foul trouble and that will happen a lot. I would be happy if we got this kid this late in the process.
  19. Two seperate mentions in his latest column. I guess that keeps burning. You have some coaches who get a taste of the broadcast booth but then they want to go back into the competitive spirit of the sidelines. You feel the highs and lows running a program, where broadcasting usually keeps you in the middle of that emotional rollercoaster. Recently Rick Majerus was hired by Saint Louis; I can tell you this guy is a workaholic, going 24/7. He will have the Billikens in the upper echelon of the Atlantic 10. Then there is Perry Clark, the former head coach at Miami-Florida and Tulane, who spent some time working for Fox's basketball coverage. Clark is back on the sidelines, taking over the position vacated by Ronnie Arrow at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. I remember Perry as a relentless recruiter for Bobby Cremins at Georgia Tech as well. Cremins came back to coaching after serving as a TV analyst, going to College of Charleston. It is part of the make-up as some guys feel they have to get back on the sidelines. Saint Louis coach Rick Majerus signed his first player, 6-7 JUCO power forward Barry Eberhardt from Coffeyville in Kansas. Wisconsin received a commitment from 6-4 guard Robert Wilson out of Garfield Heights, Ohio. Score one for Bo Ryan and his staff. http://espn.go.com/dickvitale/070504Vitale...allchatter.html
  20. Did you hear what Nate said about you ability to judge talent? Just kidding.
  21. He got it in writing on his contract that Biondi has to import some of them. I am not taking a shot at are current crop or past groups, Mrs. A Bomb. It is just being done to add depth.
  22. Nate brings a hell of a lot of great info to this board. I don't want Nate going anywhere. I don't think it was Nate's intention at all, but that thread was starting to remind me of group of guys surrounding the chick that puts out at a freshman mixer in high school.
  23. You the man Box. Way to make sure he keeps up with his assigned duties Moy.
