    You are stuck...just ask @Soderball

More seriously, send me a PM with what you want, and I can change it.

    Shirtball

It's a play on the old spoonball. I grew up in that era and I'm sticking with it. I hope we don't shoot like Virginia did though 🤣

  2. I'm absolutely over the moon for this hire. The news is great and just gets better. Even if the honeymoon period this is great. The recruits mentioned have been great, the assistant and staff hires are great. SLU is finally getting things right for once.

I don't think we will have HCJS for long, but by God it is going to be fun. Let's go!

Avilas gonna play 30 mpg, that’s a lot for a center. It’ll be hard to find a forrester if you will who will only play 10 or less. It’ll likely be a project like a Bruce or maybe the 6’11 recruit he has signed currently

I think it's difficult because Schertz needs a stretch but that can shoot the ball. A guy like SVB or Bruce would not be it, even if they did develop.

A 6 8 shooting forward like Hargrove would be more effective backing up Avila due to the style. Hello Kellen Thames??

If Thames can develop his passing game I could see him serving that role. Otherwise we have to hope to find a guy. But 7ft isn't as much of a requirement as the ability to be patient, pass well, and shoot the ball effectively.

Go find another management template that justifies your negative agenda, once you tweak the data and massage the questions.  I still chuckle about that.  It reminds me of consulting for the Army Corps of Engineers that I did.   They supplied me with the results they want and then asked me to write the report to support their desired result.   I did it once and they said no thanks on further contracts.

  5. Billikens.com as crazy as ever. Enjoying the sycamores crushing the P6.

Schertz to SLU is already done you guys are crazy. There's been zero talk of him anywhere else, SLU is pursuing noone else. What do you think this is? Indiana state is poor even by Missouri Valley standards.

The Louisville spectacle should have put this to bed. Y'all goofy.

What's already done? Coach has not been announced. The more they win the more other teams will want him and his players. You dont think them winning the NIT and a bigger school coming in at the last minute and throwing cash at them all is possible?

His players raise their NIL stock with every win. Other teams could key in on the individual players. If you are a SLU basketball fan (which we are learning some on this board just like basketball in general) you want them to lose as soon as possible.

The difference between coach getting to discuss playing time with any current SLU player today verses 2 weeks from now after they have been contacted by other schools is not negligible.

When national media reports on it, it's done. You can relax now.

Current SLU players? You mean Jimerson and Parker? Thames? Thames is already home.

Parker's gone bro, and playing time is not going to be a factor for Jimerson. Jimerson can talk to Dr Chaifetz about the money. Has little to do with Schertz coming. If Jimerson stays Schertz will use him; if he moves on we will be fine.

The other guys? We wouldn't be bringing ISU's team in if we weren't trying to move them on to future endeavours already.

Were you watching this team this year? This is a purge and replace situation; that's why we pursued Schertz.

Maybe you meant Medley; who is definitely gonna stay to be the "back up PG" .. lol

Additionally, you do know that we are already reaching out to guys in the portal right now .. of course you'd know this if you were paying attention to the news that you claim to care so much about.

Take a time out for mental health.

While I do feel for the ISU fans, I care about SLU basketball, and what is best for us.  You've been here a long time, you know that what can go wrong, often does go wrong for our program.  And until Schertz signs officially on the dotted line, and it’s announced, there is the possibility of something going wrong.  If ISU losing is what it takes to get this across the line, I sure as hell will be rooting for them to lose.

It's already done. you are just nuts. Ford is gone, he can't hurt you anymore.

I had only seen some bits of ISU games and highlights until last night. Very fun offense - great spacing and they share the ball. I would like for Gibby to return and play for Schertz. His efficiency was predictably down this past year without Yuri, but put him on a team with a lot of good passers and with other scorers so he won't have to carry the load, and I think he would thrive. I also think Schertz would enjoy coaching him.

The team defense did look soft at times, however, so Coach Schertz will need to add a couple of bulldogs who want to play D.

I entered the game wanting them to lose, but when they got down, I started finding myself rooting for them. It would have been a bad way to end the season losing that first game. But now I really want it to end this weekend. Hoping they lose, so the new coach can start getting to work!

They are fun. i was yelling at the TV for the first time in a long time(well something other than "fire this guy now")

Magic can go on for a little more. i hate the big 10. take 'em down.

Just a quick review before we get to the main stuff....

TO s were equal at 10...which mean we move on to the next 2 categories...FG%...ISU won that 55% to 48%....and rebs  ...36-31 won that too...which gives you an 80% chance to win ..in this case 100%....Interestingly ISU trailed most of the game in score  and TOs...but once the TOs turned around  the score did too. Some things never change.

The important take away in this game was the uncertainty going in....Coach and players in a no man's land...a lot of distracting turmoil,...who will be where next year, .... what about the fans especially since it is a home game...portal questions...As a result  there was a great deal of uncertainty...this could easily have been a loss. Add the fact that they were down through the 1st 3 quarters ...this outcome bodes well for the Coach, the players and The Bills.  CJS was able to rally the troops...change things up at half time......get the team back on track...speaks volumes about the Coach  and the players....a sign of a winning attitude.

As far as the computer is concerned, it was looking for ISU to win by 6-8 pts and they pretty much came in on target.  It answered the computer's main question...can the team handle the non basketball distractions.  The answer was yes and as a result the machine feels more confident about  future NIT predictions regarding ISU.

While the team could have easily called it a season and moved on to the next phase, they finished the job at hand....again this bodes well for The Bills. While I am anxious for the team to start doing Billiken things, it was fun to watch and see what a team that knows how to win  looks like. The computer also thinks there is a good chance we may have to wait till April to get a final answer.

Buckle up and enjoy the ride...

So the computer is saying Flyers and Rams are in trouble next year? I like the computer.

The post was deleted but they're mad at the Steak & Shake in Terre Haute, IN tonight because despite their AOL dial up it loaded before he deleted.

They sure are bitter on that board. I'm not gonna absorb that bitterness. We have been suffering enough over here in St Louis. Josh Schertz is gonna be beloved here. Winning has a tendency to do that!

I hope they land another slam dunk coach in terre haute!

They should try hiring Ford or Jim Crews if they want to know true hopelessness and suffering.

Edit: we also had Romar poached by Washington back in the day. I was mad as hell. Got over it. He sent us some great video acknowledgments from when his former players were honored and stuff. He would still get a nice ovation here in STL if he makes a retirement stop. It's not the same as when the players go now too, sure, but still.

The A10 doesn't have a lot of quality athletic inside players.  And even if he gives up 20+ pts in a game he'll score double figures and the get 5+ assists.   I.e. he will hold his own against the best bigs in the A10 and the majority of the time he will be the best big on the floor.

He has good hands and skills. Some of those assists were straight nasty. We haven't had a big guy with finesse for a long time.

Avila can't guard athletic big men underneath.  Defense will need to be better. But gutty win from Sycamores.  I was pulling for them.  Good crowd.

I feel for the ISU fans worked up over all this but they hired away a coach who brought a player with him from Lincoln Memorial.  Plus they have multiple transfers.  This is how it is now.  Maybe it'll work out for SLU for once.  A few demonizing the Chaifetzes they wish they had a Chaifetz.

    Dr Chaifetz rules.

Power 5 overlords literally stole $2M minimum from that ISU-Blue team and its Valley partners.  There is no way from here to Pluto that awful Virginia team should have been in the NCAA ahead of Indiana State.  That was the very Power 5 conference slotting the Committee claims does not happen.  Right, and we'll take bids on the Golden Gate Bridge too.

    You're back, BAB.

Also screw the big 10. Time to go Caddyshack on the gophers.
