  1. Unfair statement. I hope Crawford is a player but I will hold judgement until I see him playing others who I know have D-1 talent. Hope he is a great player but I have seen other 6'3" to 6"4" players who SLU has signed who were much more highly rated than Crawford turn out to be mediocre players at best (Maguire, Diener). Let's hope that Staff has really has come up with a top-notch under the radar player. He certainly appears to be a smart kid with a good head on his shoulders and that is always a good start. He looks like he can shoot. So it gets back to my first question. Can he handle the ball in the open court and can he defend (or learn to do these things. Deiner and Maguire couldn't.
  2. Heck no, he's only playing a bunch of other white kids.
  3. Yes, it is a highlight film, but a block or two, a steal or just a good old fashion drawing of a charge would be nice to see. Offense is just one facet of a basketball game. Defense wins championships. I will be looking forward to see if Mr. Crawford is a complete player who has the quickness to defend at the NCAA division I level.
  4. Can he play defense? Hope so. All I saw on the video was offensive highlights. No blocks, steals, stops, etc.
  5. So only 11 eligible players next year with one open scholarship and the transfer sitting out the season. We will need everyone to stay healthy.
  6. There are many examples of skinny tall kids who are not highly recruited who became good (and a few great) players. Let's hope our guy becomes one of these players.
  7. Interesting that Verbal Commits has Gillmann as a 3* commit, same as Roby.
  8. So, anyone have a guess who the next commit will be for the Bills?
  9. Let's have all six available scholarships filled this fall. Spring is a terrible time to be trying to fill spots. I'd rather our coaches be focusing on the class of 2015 recruits this Spring rather than scrambling to fill available spots.
  10. Let's hope Gillman breaks out this year like Harrelson, a recruit BS missed on some yea/rs ago.
  11. We need an announcement soon that SLU is in the Big East in 2014. That would draw recruits for sure.
  12. This thread has definitely seen its day. Let's put it out of its misery.
  13. Yeah, but it is strange that with all the playing time available in 2014-15, why can't we get a good transfer???
  14. Would sure be great for recruiting if the Big East could announce SLU is in for the 2014-2015 season!
  15. Time to move on to the next recruiting class.
  16. Talking about the Spring period. Haven't forgotten about Crawford.
  17. Still very happy with the two we got. Top priority was to sign a couple bigs and we got that done. Another guard would be great, but not if he can't be seen as a contributor / in rotation in 2014-2015.
  18. Would like to get one hs or prep kid and a transfer.
  19. A lot of guess work going on here!!! Maybe Crews forced him out, maybe Drew decided to leave. I don't think we know.
  20. Agreed, but interesting that Tanner is a 3 star, 70 rated. Not too different from Nolan.
  21. Nolan has dropped in the rating services. ESPN grades him as a 77. Scout has him as a 3 star recruit. Seems like they are rated about equal.
  22. I give a ! Like to see how people think they compare. Been hearing about Nolan for quite awhile but know little about Tanner.
  23. So a little poll. I would like to know, if we could have Nolan Berry instead of Tanner, who would you take? For me, I say Tanner. Bigger , looks more aggressive and probably just as good of a shooter. And I like how he goes to the basket!
