  1. a BUNCH of spam today. I got TRUCKLOADS today. I ussually get about 5-10 after filters. But today I easily got 50, I set up more filters, but it kept coming. Plus someone spoofed my e-mail address so it looks like I was sending spam (and I got Mailer errors). My dad said a few people at his work got a bunch today too, anyone else (as I wrote this I got another one!) Steve
  2. I think I figured out how to do the bonus thing. I looked in the Help file of excel to see if it had an IF then statement thing, and it did! Woo Hoo! I am unsure of how to do spread, but I have only given it like 5 minutes of thought. But check out this file and tell me if you think it would work. http://www.billikens.com/testpool/test.xls Steve
  3. Am I mistaken, but I think that site is simply for the Tournament, not regular season setup. Correct me if I am wrong. Steve
  4. I dunno. Maybe have a point system. Let's say we have 25 People. The person with the closest to the actual FINAL Winning Percentage of the team gets 25 points. The next closest gets 24, and so on. Then before each game, people could predict the following. Who will win the next Bills game? If correct worth 1 point. What is the spread? The 3 closest get an additional 1 point. Who is the Billikens' High Scorer with how many? If exact one bonus point. Then RANDOM Question, (example) how many trips to the line will SLU get? If exact 1 Bonus. We could have a seperate board for it so the messages are easier to read and such. And I could have a default form so it is even easier formatting. You think you could do that? It will be a fair amount of work updating, especially if everyone participates. We could even have it be on an honor system somewhat. To enter you predictions you start a thread. Then after the game, you say how many points you should be rewarded IN a reply to that Message. Steve
  5. Not swimming pool, but like Office Pool style. For NCAA Basketball. Since with all the talk about predictions. It may be nice to do more than just one preseason prediction. Like do a game by game thing. Anyone have any ideas (we could just use the board, but that would take a lot of time for the person compiling the data, and I don't think I can do that this year. If someone else would like to, GREAT, but it is a time consumer). So if anyone knows of good software, preferable that can be online (I can put it on through Billikens.com). Just wondering. I have only ran into the pro sports and college football and NCAA Tournament. Thanks, Steve
  6. I am not saying I am Anti-Soccer, but Rich, I loved your signature about building the Arena on the Soccer Field, too bad you switched it. Steve
  7. Roy...the season starts in about 3 months and 2 days.... hehe you don't get a 3 freebie Games senor. Steve I know you probably just made an honest mistake, no worries
  8. Okie doke... That is what I missed. Thanks, Steve
  9. http://www.tigerboard.com/boards/display.php?message=923638 I don't remember Pulley being the 3pt man.... Hmm... Maybe he improved from his 4-27 days with SLU. Steve Maybe Miles just sucks..
  10. I am pretty sure I have it set up so that anyone can set up polls. Just click Poll where you can click on Post, User Menu, Search, etc. From there you should be able to set up a poll. Steve
  11. Thicks- I went ahead and editted it. I would block that word, but I think it is okay when used as a synonym of "complaining" but not in the way that it was used in the post. Steve Laptops...keeping me connected to the Billiken world
  12. Everyone- I will be out of town until Sunday night. I am bringing my laptop, but who knows about internet access. So just letting you guys know. Also with donations (we are up to $220 guys! Woo, thank you all very much), so even if a check arrives at my house. You won't get confirmation until Sunday, just to let you know. Off to Wisconsin I go! Steve
  13. You can make T-Shirts online pretty easily nowadays. You would have to pay for shipping, but if the demand is high enough. I bet we could whip something up. But we would probably have to check with SLU about copyright goodness. Steve (hehe, we could put the new Billikens.com logo on the sleeve)
  14. Nark- I gave it a try, but no luck. The icon has to be 16 by 16 and just barely over 1k. If I JUST had the billiken logo (without text) no color or anything. I am 1.2k. And PLUS it has to be 16 by 16 so that is very very small. Sorry, Steve Also I don't think I know enough about what I am doing to do it. If I find someone who does, I will ask them for some help.
  15. http://www.logoserver.com/US-NCAA-S.html Scroll down you should find the logo. Steve
  16. If the new logo on the front page slows down people's load time too much, tell me and I can take it down, but I like the way it looks. Steve PS I didn't make it, a friend of a friend did.
  17. Roy, my dad e-mailed me this morning and wanted me to tell you that it was Chris Mills not Shawn Kemp.
  18. What is the first name of Carter on the 2000-01 squad... I have no clue. Here are the stats if it helps to refresh your mem: http://www.billikens.com/statistics/seasonstats/00-01.htm Steve
  19. The career stats page now has the class of 02-03. If anyone sees errors, shout: http://www.billikens.com/statistics/playerstats/ Steve
  20. I made a small change to a file that reset the new messages. Basically the old address of the board had something like http://207.36.130.25/c....... now it is http://www.billikens.com/c....... Sorry that it reset all of the links and such. Hopefully it won't prove to be too inconvienent. One way to figure out which messages you have read and haven't, try to remember when you last visited and then pay attention the times by the posts. Steve
  21. hehe, I think Roy is on vacation. I am sure he would give us his opinion on this especially the billiken gear. I think the problem is selection. How someone can't go into a store like champs or Famous and be able to find a Billiken hat and shirt. But there have been some problems with the selection. Not enough blue stuff and too much grey or something like that. And the web site not being in stock for extended periods of time. I don't care too much about the selection (I am fine with what I got). Also, I honestly can't blame the local stores too much. Interest in Billiken basketball declined after Spoon left. My biggest concern is attendance. I would like to get us back to being about 10,000 EVERY GAME. Not just when a big name comes to town. I am satisfied with Woolard. There are things that have been done that I disagree with. I think our games should be on Fox Midwest and not charter as long as there are as many on. Also the whole KMOX deal should be a little better. But currently I can listen or see almost every billiken game I want if I live in St. Louis. But non charter members are somewhat left out in the cold for many road games. Things could be better, but they could also be A LOT WORSE.
  22. I just have a question. What is the history of taking back an offer from a player. Say player X verbals to SLU after being offered. SLU then in October learns another BETTER player is willing to go to SLU if offered, but SLU is out of scholarships. I know it is a rotten thing to do to withdrawl an offer (it messes things up for the kid they offered), but has it been done much in college sports. I haven't heard of it happening, but I don't follow ALL of college sports very closely, mainly SLU and whatever pertains to SLU. But how uncommon is it to withdrawl an offer. Steve
  23. I would watch it a bit. Last time we started ripping on the name changer. One of our posters had a face to face encounter with the name changer. We mentioned her name then, we haven't yet. But I am just warning ya, I think she reads the board, at least she did 2 years ago. Steve
  24. Everyone- I have decided to allow for donations to be made to compensate for the expenses of Billikens.com. DONATIONS ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR ANYTHING. By donating you do not recieve any special features, special treatment, or anything else. The donations are simply to reduce the cost on my end of Billikens.com. Billikens.com will stay online no matter what. So don't fear that Billikens.com is going anywhere. Running Billikens.com is still a great pleasure of mine, and I intend to keep running it for long into the future. You can donate by check or through PayPal. Please do not mail checks past the 20th. I will be leaving the 26th, and I do not want to chance a check getting here when I am not here. If it does, I may not get the check for weeks. Full details can be found at http://www.billikens.com/donations/ Your donations would be appreciated, although I want to reiterate that they are completely optional. Also, once $300 are donated, I will shut donations down until next August. Steve Rogers Webmaster of Billikens.com PS If you have any questions or problems. E-mail me at [email protected].
