  1. I don't even know if Powell is on the staff's radar. Also, Powell had a good freshman year at Indian Hills and may be looking to go high major. Here is a recent quote on Powell's game from Midwest scout, Eric Bossi. "At the very least Powell is a high level mid major prospect, but he's going to get every chance to end up on the high major level. "
  2. I just saw Kenny a few hours ago. He said he played almost the entire season on a weak ankle, and still earned about 6-7 D1 offers. He just felt most comfortable at Northridge. Also, 6'3 guard Chad Thompson of Career Academy/Moberly C.C. recently signed with Campbell University. Campbell plans to play him at the point guard spot. Both of these guys signed right before the NLI deadline.
  3. That all depends on which scouting service you trust. Van Coleman (Maybe the best in the business) ranked Truvillion #58 in the country in the pre-season.
  4. This is just a guess, but it could be Greg Truvillion from Copiah-Lincoln CC, MS. He is 6'8, 230 lbs, but this is JUST A GUESS.
  5. This is all news to me. I've never seen Box and Won at a family reunion.
  6. Good to hear from you OJ! You are absolutely correct! By the way, here are two Rivals.com links that talk about Team Missouri playing at the Sabes Invitational last May. http://rivalshoops.rivals.com/content.asp?...&CID=672519 http://rivalshoops.rivals.com/content.asp?...&CID=672847 I'm pretty sure Team MO was at the Nike MDC in Spring 06, but you are obviously the expert.
  7. First of all, I'm not "V." You should really get your facts straight about the schedule that Team Missouri plays. They've been to the Nike Memorial Day Classic and the Howard Pulley Sabes Invitational. (Those events are usually exclusive to Nike programs only, but Team MO got the invites.) They've been to the Vegas Main Event, AAU Supershowcase, Mullen's High Profile, Jayhawk Shootout, Eddie Ford's Grassroots Shootout, Hoosier Shootout, etc. Most of these events are attended by the Eagles and/or Gateway. What else do you want?? This year, I believe they are even going to the Pitt Jam Fest, one of the top three events of the Spring. Most of the elite Reebok teams will be in attendance. Again, what else do you want? This program has already helped send a few players D1. I don't have to convince anyone of Donelly's value, 3. I simply pondered if Majerus was still looking at Jayme. I didn't bring him in for a visit...Rick Majerus did. If he turns out to be another Roth, what will be the reaction on this board?
  8. I KNOW! Final season stats 20.7ppg 5.5rpg 2.6apg 2.2spg 61% FG's 56% 3FG's 73% FT's Team finished 20-6.
  9. The kid dropped 26 points on Mizzou recruit Marcus Denmon. Linn took 4th place, but Donnelly definitely had a coming out party on the 3-star prospect. I wonder if Majerus is still looking at this kid. Hopefully Linn can get a game in St. Louis so you guys can see this kid in action. I remember that there were some questions on this board about whether or not he could perform against quality talent.
  10. Haven't heard from him in a while. I think that he'll end up in the Big 12 or Big 10. Too early to tell because he has to spend another year at JUCO.
  11. Excellent student too. Would probably be able to get an academic scholarship if he has applied.
  12. He went to Belleville West as a junior, but moved to Texas right before his senior season. I'm not sure if he was even healthy/eligible that junior season. He blossomed down in Texas, and continued to develop while playing JUCO. He did an interview with STL Hoops Insider back in September. He did express interest in playing at SLU. One of the reasons he chose St. Bonaventure is because his family can come see him when he plays SLU.
  13. Anyone still think that he's better than Bryant Allen?
  14. Cotto and Mitchell are both scoring point guards. There is no need to recruit the same type of player twice. I would take Allen over Cottobecause he is a better on-ball-defender and overall athlete. I think he is better at creating for his teammates. He proved himself last year by tearing up the Peach Jam and holding his own at the Jamboree. If the stats are correct, Bryant is more accurate than Cotto when shooting the 3-ball. Don't get me wrong...I think Cotto is a great player, but Bryant Allen has a higher ceiling. He'll get some high major interest before it's all said and done.
  15. Here is some video about Milestone Christian Academy. It shows their "state-of-the-art" facilities! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tu6rKG5WKyI Here is another link with some testimonials from some of their former star players. No wonder Majerus was so excited to see Willie Reed attending this prestigious institution??
  16. I read the little "discussion" about Anthony James. I decided to go to the game tonight and see how he has progressed. Here is some footage I came away with. Also, I spoke with him and he told me that he just got his ACT score back in the mail. He officially qualifies for D1. That was a major reason why his recruitment was at a standstill. Of course he is not a Billiken recruit, but I wish him well. You guys should too.
  17. I just found it very interesting that people were so quick to judge a recruit because of a list he came up with on the spot. I didn't get the same exciting vibe that the rest of the unknown recruits get. I felt the arrogance of a high major program that is fresh off a trip to the Sweet 16. I'm not trying to convince you guys of anything, but the initial reactions of the board just caught me off guard. This wasn't a walk-in off the street. He was invited. Where is the trust in the great saviour, Rick Majerus??
  18. I probably know the area better than most. It is not on the level of St. Louis, but you guys already knew that. I don't think anyone is saying he worthy of an offer right now, but I'm am shocked that the board would shoot down a player that Majerus had in for a visit. The kid even said that Majerus liked his shooting ability. The vibe I got from the board was that Donnelly is not wanted. There is no need for the negativity. As I said before, I'm hoping that many prospects don't read this board.
  19. I hope that prospects don't read this board. It is pretty cold right now. The video was from his sophomore year. Nobody has seen his shooting form recently. He could have done plyometric training all summer and improved his athleticism. As far as the Lindenwood comment...Cherepkaih is the first to recruit a lot of good players in Missouri before their recruitment takes off to higher levels. The kid is probably just interested in whoever is interested in him. I'll take that attitude over the "I have D1 interest, so every D2 or NAIA school can kick rocks" attitude.
  20. Perhaps he enjoyed his unofficial visit. Some other big programs like West Virginia and Marquette are in the running as well. Sorry if this was already posted. There are three clips of Capobianco in this video.
  21. >I have always felt SLU should target kids who are a step >above what I would call mid major talent. I am not looking >to start a debate on whether SLU is mid major or not. I >said I am not a talent evaluator and if Majerus thinks he is >good enough I will trust him, but I disagree with the >decision on the surface and will stick with it till proven >otherwise. I always said I was a fan of Roundtree and liked >his game, but never saw John as being a legitimate D-I >prospect. He's more than a legitimate prospect. He's 6'4 200lbs, already a college ready body, he can shoot, he can run, he can jump. He has a post game. He finishes with contact and likes contact. He had 3 D1 offers after his sophomore year.
  22. >I think it's a bunch of ##### SLU has to host this when none >of these players will give SLU a second look a few years >from now. All the courts are taken up and the people who PAY >35 BUCKS A MONTH can't use the courts for some pick-up ball? >The people who run the rec need to be lined up and shot. This is a great event and only brings attention to SLU. This is a new era. Majerus will have an excellent opportunity to get some of these guys. Soderberg would not have had a chance. The only negative issue I have with this event is the lack of local kids that the Eagles place in the event. They have the players work the camp as assistants, and if somebody gets hurt or doesn't show, they'll sub in an Eagles player. It is a shame because the local guys always do very well.
  23. >i hear his stock is dropping, if so will some major schools >pull their offers and will we have a chance tog get him I don't think his stock is dropping, but he has was up and down the entire spring. Some games, he played like a top 50 prospect. Other times, he lacked aggression and didn't make an impact. That can change with a good college coach. He doesn't even have Saint Louis on his list, and I'm not sure if Majerus is going after him. Perry seems to be a better fit.
