R2R is correct; Brad pays for his staff's cell phones out of camp money and the women are on their own to pay for theirs. That fact is common knowledge out on the recruiting circuit.

From what I understand, Shimmy is close to being finished with her '08 class and is trying to seal the deal on a couple big kids. I have seen Yvonne and she is a great talent, but dad wants her to experience the entire recruiting process. Given Shimmy's freshmen guards and her incoming '07 class, I would say her focus on big kids is on point!

Looking at the numbers, it seems as if someone at the top of SLU's foodchain does not give a @$#% about Billiken Athletics.

Are we kidding ourselves; what do we offer? Kids want exposure!! We do not play on TV. Our local newspaper focuses on programs outside of the viewing area. The few that attend games do not make much noise, so where is the big-time atmosphere? Players have a dressing room in a dungeon; where they spend 5 days out of the week. Coaches have to pay for their own cell phones and sometimes their own travel in recruiting; lack of budget - when the A.D. is begging for more funds so she can run a top-notch athletic department and it seems nobody is listening at the top. SLU Athletics leave a lot to be desired, to no fault of anyone in West Pine.

Considering Illinois beat the women by 38 last season and the Billikens lost by nine last night while playing four freshmen at once for 90% of the game; I would say Shimmy is getting it done!!! I would take her passionate staff over that of Illinois if I had a daughter looking to play at the next level.

Work habits, self-motivation, and team chemistry are just as crucial as athleticsm!

I had overheard Shimmy and Coach Francis talk about this a few weeks ago. A nice little recruiting tool if you ask me. I think she is the epitome of Big-Time and it will only be a matter of time.

How ironic! Jill Pizzotti is now the rep for Nike's Division of Women's Collegiate Basketball. Her relationship with Huggie goes back quite some time when Spoon did the introductions. I wonder if Jill included any extra benefits in the deal?

Supposedly Shimmy has a huge "Official Visit" Weekend starting this Friday. Rumor mill says she is bringing in Shakara Jones, who has a final four list of SLU, Tennessee, Illinois, and Missouri, with her two highly-touted '07 verbals. Go get'em Shimmy!

If we want to shut everyone up or generate positive comments our way, we must start winning on a consistent basis. Winning is bottom line. I think this arena will be a big factor in helping us get to that point.

Also found out through the grapevine, that Shimmy and staff had eight players out of Chicago on campus Saturday for an unofficial. It's my understanding, they had eleven players in all just this last week alone. All 08's, '09's, & 10's and one of the '09's has already been offered by Purdue. I think a couple of the visits during the week were from Anya Covington out of Edwardsville and Alisha Goodwin out of Althoff.

Obviously, people love to take comments out of context. No, you don't have free reign to act like an a$$ because the day will come when we will be judged. Greece, you need to study scripture better. One of our commandments is to spread the word. And one does not find their way into heaven based on actions. This is the problem with our society now, too many of us practice a religion of convenience. It is not our beliefs that matter, it is what is written that matters.

To compare a BCS school to SLU is utterly ridiculous. Resources, resources, resources! I'll bet Painter and his staff don't have to pay their own cell phone bills. I am sure Purdue's President understands the importance of a cell phone for a coach in the recruiting process, unlike the higher-ups here. It would be much easier to compare apples to oranges!

I would think Shakara has a ways to go before she reaches the level of intensity that Theresa plays with. Theresa is cut-throat in her backyard against Kevin and refuses to lose in a game of UNO.

If Shimmy could add Jones to the class of '07 verbals that she already has, watch out!! Orlando, did you say you saw her at an open gym? How did she look to you? I know Tennessee is on her and was just curious as to how quick she can make an impact in the S.E.C.
