I am going further than the numbers though. The only reason he does not turn it over is bc he rarely tries to attack. A PG should penetrate the D and then kick. He penetrated on extremely rare occasion, maybe never. I would have a low TO rate too if I just stood at the top of the key and swung the ball.

Yea, general distrust in Crews recruiting is why I am skeptical about Neufeld. I dont even think I've seen a youtube video of him. I prefer more of a quick, short, spark plug type of PG who does not turn it over but plays above average D. If MB can stop turning the ball over, run the offense, and guard the opposing PG, then that would be great and I would be on board. Have not seen evidence of that yet.

Seems like we are reeling here.... The promise of immediate playing time for a high-mid level PG like Hardnett should have been a good selling point. But Kevin Ollie saying that Hardnett is going to be the next Boatright is tough to overcome. It does seems like we are setting our sights high and competing with the big boys. Jury is out on if this strategy pays off.

The Ariz St Coach signed an extension right before getting canned too...it means little IMO.

Seems like lately the assumption that no one will improve is a decent one...Manning, Lancona, Glaze, McBroom... Who has improved under Crews? Jett? People are starting to spin fictitious tales about glass half-full improvement. Glad Pistol and I are here to inject some reality. ....We lost to a 7 win George Mason team at home by 25+, in early March. That is who we are right now. I would put about a 20% chance that we are .500 in conference next year. Probably go 10-2 in the non-conf though with a 324th ranked SOS.

I would really like a commitment from jahshire hardnett. Offers from UConn, Memphis, and Wich St according to verbal commits. I think it would take some of the heat off Crews IMO. He looks to be a pass first PG with a very tight handle. Our current guards all bring something to the table but "tight handle" is not a an attribute that comes to mind. Bartley would move to the 2...which is where I would like to see him anyway.

Fine. Running a good zone takes practice. But is a below average zone better than a dreadful man defense? We didn't even try it once?...and crews wanted too?! The number of apologists on this board are head-scratching to say the least

A zone is not difficult to understand...my goodness. When you are 12 years old you learn how to play a zone in about an hour. These are D1 bball players... Is he really scared to install something when zero of our guards can say in front of their man. The man D wasn't working Jimmy... I am sorry but Crews needs to go. Ok, I do not reside in STL...but from an outsider's perspective...this message board looks to live in a complete dream world by seriously speculating that two locals the caliber of Tatum and Cook are going to play at SLU. I thought I remembered that Cook even made it known that he wanted to leave the area. We were just the last place team in the 8th(ish) best conference with an RPI of 280ish. We need to focus on system guys who can get the team back to the 17-18 win range. If we are concentrating on these 2 stars at the expense of pursuing 3 star recruits (or 2 stars that are a good fit), then that is a huge mistake IMO.
