  1. He isn't a good 3 point shooter, but he is an exceptional mid range jump shooter. I was very disappointed with his poor ft % last year but that has improved some . Roundtree has been bothered with an ankle problem this year so perhaps it is unfair to judge his performance this year. As for Booker, very inconsistent, some times he will dominate and at other times seems to disappear. Of the three John has shown the most improvement and has had the best year. They all have their strengths, John to me is a more complete player. For the current season John is averaging 18 pts per game and Roundtree 13pts per game. Both are shooting about 50% from the field, as for ft% John is at a mediocre 63% while Roundtree is only making 44% (ouch). That needs to improve or he will be a liability in a close game.
  2. I don't like Roundtree near as well as you do. I will agree that he is an excellent defender, however his outside game leaves a lot to be desired. He is good at posting up high school players but will not be able to do so at the collegiate level. I also think his ball handling needs a lot of work. I think Femi John projects much better at the college level than Roundtree.
  3. No way that Danny could guard Christmas, he just does not have the quickness. That said, you have to admire the effort he is giving. It speaks volumes of our talent level when Danny at times was our best option at the 4 spot.
  4. Jack, have you decided yet if Bryce is as good as Ian yet, are do you still need more time to think about it?
  5. We are not even close in talent. We have 2 positions on the floor who can basically not score at all.
  6. NO..are you on drugs? You say, don't use Polk, who else do they have??? Thicks, don't you get it? Unfortunately, Polk is their best option, and he is terrible. BH, can't catch the ball. RM. sees Relphorde, and Mitchell evey day in practice. if they were a better option, they would be playing. If you want to see an exhibition on how not to shoot the basketball, watach AM next time in pre game warm ups. Your criticism of RM is totally off base. You admit that the front court is woefulul, yet blame the coach for the loss. Sounds ridiculous doesn't it?
  7. Yeah, thicks i have to agree with you. I don't see how a coach with a point guard like DP and a center tandem of AK and BH doesn't win all of their games. Thanks for your insight, your knowledge of basketball ranks right there with Jacks. By the way thicks, when you get a chance check out DP, BH, and Ak's statistics for the game today. Please report back with your findings. I am sure they will prove your point about RM's terrible coaching job.
  8. Dave, the jerk is Jack...Why can't you answer questions 1 and 4 Jack, they are the whole basis of your arguement?
  9. Jack, I am still waiting for an answer. Why is this so difficult for you?
  10. Brian, Moytoy, what he is trying to tell you is that Ian = Bryce. Please answer this question Jack. Compared to last year, is this year's talent better or worse? Now if you say it is the same then you are saying that Ian = Bryce, if you say it is worse then you are defeating your own arguement, and if you say it is better, then you need to be locked up. NOW ANSWER THE QUESTION.
  11. Brian, you are wasting your time with Jack, the guy is an obsessed RM hater, who can't handle that the recruiting legend BS is not the Bills coach any more.
  12. Not so, I'm sure Floyd Irons made more. After all, did Rich get to keep the gate receipts? Rich Grawer is a great man, I wish some how they would have a Rich Grawer night at a SLU game. Unfortunately it will probably never happen.
  13. The Key Word here is that Spoon inherited a GOOD group of youngsters, which he did a good job with. RM, with few exceptions (Tommie, Luke, and Kevin) inherited a BAD grroup of veterans and a BAD group of youngsters.
  14. Apparently, it is quite easy to find fault with RM....and please don't point out our perceived shortcomings, they are just figments of our imagination.
  15. Jack,Jack,Jack, I promise this is my last post on this subject. As, I and others have mentioned numerous times to you, value to a team can not just be measured by their raw stats. Regardless of Ian's points in a game, he still demanded defensive attention from the other team. Ian also allowed you to play Bryce far less than he does now. Jack, were you actually at any games last year? If so, didn't you notice that Ian was always double teamed? Don't you think this helped Tommie and Kevin? Please quit saying this team should be as good as last year. There have been no significant additions and 1 major loss. How could it possibly be expected to be as good?
  16. Jack, you have gone off the deep end. Your love for BS and hatred for RM has prevented you from any semblance of objectiveness. Please answer this, did Ian's presence help Tommie and Kevin's production last year. If you say no, then you obviously know nothing about basketball, if you say yes then you are calling yourself a fool. You decide.
  17. Your rationale is ridiculous, on one hand you say that you are not discounting Ian's performance but then say that his absence shouldn't matter. You still seem unable or unwilling to realize that Ian's presence made others bettter players. Make up your mind, either Ian was a better player than the bigs we have now or he isn't. If you agree that he was better, then quit saying that it shouldn't make any difference on the court.
  18. Out of curiosity, what offense would you run with this group? I don't know of any that would be effctive with our lack of inside scoring, a lack of depth, lack of team quickness, and only 2 outside threats.
  19. You are wrong Dave, I never said it was all Ian. It was the combination of Tommie, Kevin, and Ian. This year Ian is not here, and we have no inside presence at all. None!!!! I don't care who you put in the middle with this current roster, they can't even come close to providing what Ian did in any area. There is no coach in basketball today, that is going to take this roster of players and make it a good team. I'm sorry that you feel Jale's basketball knowledge has been slighted, however if one can't understand the importance of having an inside threat then they don't understand basketball. Furthermore to blame a new coach who doesn't have any control over the current personnel is being blatanly unfair.
  20. Roy, is Mitchelll able to handle the ball well enough to take Polk and Eckerle's minutes?
  21. Replacing Polk, a loss??? Yeah, we are really going to miss that 2-3 points a game that he gives us.
  22. You don't need to mention his name it is inferred. The only difference from last year's team and this year's team is the post player. And that was a huge loss despite how you continue you to minimize his play. You are obviously a basketball illiterate. Regardless of Ian's stats in a particular game he always forced the opposition to account for him by double teaming him, which freed up other players. Brad himself was the first to point this out last year, when people would criticize Ian's play last year.
  23. Dave, I don't disagree that RM should never be blamed for a failure howver what do you think is of more importance in winning a game, the players or the coach? I think the talent on the floor is the overriding factor in almost all games. If this is the case then don't you think that most of the blame should be on the players, particularly when the present coach had nothing to do with the assembling of that talent?
