  1. I think that saying he has been trashing our players all season is misleading. Yes, he has pointed out their shortcoming as basketball players, but he has gone out of the way to state that he has a great group of young men.
  2. Jack, get your head out of your rear. Do we have to go over this same Ian vs. Bryce thread again. What a moron. PS, the great Brad Soderberg is coaching the freshman girls at St. Charles West, maybe you can go watch them play and relive some of those great coaching memories. While you are at the game, ask him why he wasn't interested in a 6'9'' 280 lb center who recently had a 39 point game for SWIC, and who is receiving heavy interest from Kentucky and other major programs. I'm sure his reply will be that he would rather have a small unathletic team any day.
  3. The primary reason they are hall of fame coaches is they are good recruiters. Dean Smith couldn't win with this current roster either. I heard Dan Dierdorf yesterday commenting on great coaches, he said "it's funny but it seems like all of the great coaches seem to have great players". I just think it is silly to question RM's coaching ability, when he has already proven that he can do the job when he has assembled his players. Two years from now, if this team is struggling then I will be the first to voice my displeasure with RM. That said i expect great things from this team.
  4. Why would you expect more???? evaluate the players we have and tell me why they should be better. I see a very mediocre team. I find it amusing that the RM bashers point out that this a very inconsistent team and blame him for it. Reality check people, that's what mediocre teams do. They can play pretty well at home and have a chance to win if a few players are having a good shooting night. When they go on the road they get their butts kicked. Personally, I will be glad when this season is over.
  5. BE was recruited by BS and according to his statements had already decided to attend SLU before RM was hired. The credit or blame for BE being here ( depending on how you view him) belongs to Brad.
  6. Nate, could you find out if SLU is still interested in Harrellson and he in them? Thanks
  7. I will be very disappointed if AK is a starter next year. That said, this is who I think will start. 1- KM 2 - KL 3 - TL 4 - Conklin 5 - Thompson/Harrellson Nate, have you heard any more about Harrellson's plans?
  8. What is going on down there? http://www.kansascity.com/news/breaking_ne...ory/463400.html
  9. Not true about Harrellson, he is still very interested in SLU.
  10. Actually, I am more of a frosted flakes man. Your point about the team and RM begining to gel is true. Those who expected this to happen immediately were way off base. My point was and still is that the most important ingredient to have a successful team is TALENT. Until RM has his players on the court it is unreasonable to expect a top team. As for beating Lasalle, any time you can win a conference road game it is a nice accomplishment.
  11. Roy, do you just think that maybe, just maybe that the players are beginning to understand RM's sytem? You and others impatience with him is ridiculous. We saw an example today of how effective his motion game can be when executed correctly. The next few years when we actually have a front court and a pg, should be very exciting for Billiken fans.
  12. Jale Jarr, you have bashed RM on more than one occasion. Why are you silent about him now?
  13. These guys aen't even the caliber of the CYC.
  14. I agree Danny is playing much smarter basketball than he did his first 3 years. I wonder why that is?? It can't be because of the coaching. It has already been pointed out by our brighter basketball minds that RM is doing a poor coaching job this year.
  15. RM isn't backing down. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/co...C6?OpenDocument
  16. It it ever wise to use the words good and Bryce in the same sentence?
  17. He isn't a good 3 point shooter, but he is an exceptional mid range jump shooter. I was very disappointed with his poor ft % last year but that has improved some . Roundtree has been bothered with an ankle problem this year so perhaps it is unfair to judge his performance this year. As for Booker, very inconsistent, some times he will dominate and at other times seems to disappear. Of the three John has shown the most improvement and has had the best year. They all have their strengths, John to me is a more complete player. For the current season John is averaging 18 pts per game and Roundtree 13pts per game. Both are shooting about 50% from the field, as for ft% John is at a mediocre 63% while Roundtree is only making 44% (ouch). That needs to improve or he will be a liability in a close game.
  18. I don't like Roundtree near as well as you do. I will agree that he is an excellent defender, however his outside game leaves a lot to be desired. He is good at posting up high school players but will not be able to do so at the collegiate level. I also think his ball handling needs a lot of work. I think Femi John projects much better at the college level than Roundtree.
  19. No way that Danny could guard Christmas, he just does not have the quickness. That said, you have to admire the effort he is giving. It speaks volumes of our talent level when Danny at times was our best option at the 4 spot.
  20. Jack, have you decided yet if Bryce is as good as Ian yet, are do you still need more time to think about it?
  21. We are not even close in talent. We have 2 positions on the floor who can basically not score at all.
  22. NO..are you on drugs? You say, don't use Polk, who else do they have??? Thicks, don't you get it? Unfortunately, Polk is their best option, and he is terrible. BH, can't catch the ball. RM. sees Relphorde, and Mitchell evey day in practice. if they were a better option, they would be playing. If you want to see an exhibition on how not to shoot the basketball, watach AM next time in pre game warm ups. Your criticism of RM is totally off base. You admit that the front court is woefulul, yet blame the coach for the loss. Sounds ridiculous doesn't it?
  23. Yeah, thicks i have to agree with you. I don't see how a coach with a point guard like DP and a center tandem of AK and BH doesn't win all of their games. Thanks for your insight, your knowledge of basketball ranks right there with Jacks. By the way thicks, when you get a chance check out DP, BH, and Ak's statistics for the game today. Please report back with your findings. I am sure they will prove your point about RM's terrible coaching job.
  24. Dave, the jerk is Jack...Why can't you answer questions 1 and 4 Jack, they are the whole basis of your arguement?
  25. Jack, I am still waiting for an answer. Why is this so difficult for you?
