  1. Please don't confuse illegal with unethical. The money was paid for one reason only and that was to bring his son to Missouri. The money couldn't be delivered legally through the son so it was diverted through the father. The practice would have been tolerable if Porter Sr would have received a typical entry level assistant coach pay ($75,000). Instead Porter Sr became the highest paid assistant coach on Missouri's staff (that should really be great for moral) and one of the highest paid in the country. What's to keep any team from offering enormous amounts of money to a parent and calling them a coach? What happened was disgusting in my opinion, and only encourages others to practice the same behavior. I can only imagine the number of parents demanding money for their son's services. By the way, ever wonder why there are so many coaches on the bench when the limit is three? Read the attached article. https://mobile.nytimes.com/2013/03/16/sports/ncaabasketball/theyre-here-there-and-everywhere-college-basketball-assistants.html
  2. I have a problem with it if the salary is not commensurate with their ability. Porter Sr is now one of the highest paid assistant coaches in the country. This hiring was nothing more than a bribe.
  3. it's not just that they are paying Porter, but he will be one of the highest paid assistant coaches in college basketball (approx $400,000 per year). This for a man with no Div 1 experience. Does anyone really think he is going to be up late at night breaking down game film? In NCAA Division I basketball, a number of men's and women's teams are nationally known, with top winning schools paying assistant coaches high salaries. For example, as of 2013, assistant coaches for the Michigan men's basketball team make base annual salaries of $155,000 to $160,000.
  4. Let's be real, Porter sr was given a bribe of 1.2 million dollars for his son to play basketball, not to coach. I'm sure if wants to spend his time on the golf course, not a word will be said. Think about it,if the money were given to his son, it would be a scandal of major proportion, but instead it is being diverted through his father. This is definitely a slippery slope we are heading down. I can only imagine the number of parent coaches that we will be seeing in the future.
  5. Sad that you need a dictionary to know right from wrong.
  6. What hypocrisy? When have I ever defended bribery? I don't have a problem with integrity like you do. I enjoy basketball, but it isn't how I get my self esteem as you apparently must.
  7. Pretty sensitive aren't you? I guess the truth hurts. Your argument that everyone else does it too is pretty pathetic. If you think bribing a parent with a million dollars is a good thing, then that speaks volumes about your character.
  8. Paying 1.125 million dollars to a players father to acquire his son for 1 college basketball season is sleazy, regardless if it is legal or not. Cuonzo Martin's loyalty is only to the all mighty dollar.
  9. Has the Bills currently at number 2 behind Western Kentucky. https://www.google.com/amp/www.midmajormadness.com/platform/amp/2017/4/6/15190916/sweet-16-mid-major-madness-recruiting-rankings-mitchell-robinson-star-prospect-shockers-midmajor
  10. Actually, he is college ready. I did a little research. His fg% was 69.4%. I don't think he was missing to many uncontested layups. FT% was a respectbe 69.7%. As for fouling too much, he played in 17 games and only committed 41 fouls. Less than 2.5 per game. Hardly a fouling machine.

  12. A star??? Maybe at the division 2 level. Zeke has average athleticism,is physically weak and has average ball skills. For him to contribute he would have to be an outstanding shooter, something he showed only on rare occasions.
  13. Be careful, Roy will think that you are encouraging TF to cheat.
  14. Yes he is a phony. I've been reading his crap for years. He thinks he is on a higher moral plain than everyone else. I for one will never forget the despicable comment from our so called best fan about Coach Majerus. Roy has no tolerance for anyone holding a differing view than his own. He pouted and left the board before when individuals called him out. I respect everyone's opinion and after all, this is a message board. When I see a bully, I will call him out. No one can deny that he isn't. As I said, he is a very insecure man. You would think a man with such a high level of "integrity" could at least show minimal respect for fellow Billikens fans.
  15. Just stop Roy. Really get tired of your holier than thou attitude. No one was ever implying that TF should cheat. You're the same ass who used to continually bash RM. You have much higher standards for others than you do for yourself. Really get tired of your phony attitude. You must be terribly insecure.
  16. Some interesting conversation about the Bills , past and present. Coach Grawer talked about Jordan Goodwin being similar to Jordair Jett, except much better. Rammer also gave his thoughts on some of the incoming players as well. Go to segment 4 on the audio link to hear the interview. http://insidestl.com/radio-shows/the-press-box
  17. Absolutely ridiculous statement. Johnson, Roby, and Welmer would all be nice bench players. Johnson in particularly could turn into an outstanding player before his career is over.
  18. Current recruiting rankings for 2018. http://247sports.com/Season/2018-Basketball/CompositeTeamRankings
  19. Here is the audio from today's interview. Some eye opening comments about next year's incoming players. http://insidestl.com/radio-shows/the-press-box
  20. Sounds more like Jordair Jett to me.
  21. What Goodwin is looking at is called a Bankhart procedure. Normal recovery time is 3-4 months. Even if he waits until March to have the surgery, he should be ready by July or August. The real question, is why has he waited this long to take care of the issue?
  22. Dislocated shoulders don't heal, they just get worse. Every time that shoulder pops out causes the joint to get looser and more prone to dislocate again. He needs to have the surgery and repair the damage. Normal recovery time is 3-4 months.
  23. Stop the crap Roy. I would guess 95% of team's turnover leader is the point guard. You're deliberately being dishonest.
