  1. As long as we bring in some guys we know will contribute and see flashes of what will be, i will be excited no matter what. I'm also looking forward to see what Welmer can do. I also hope Neufeld develops this summer and Reggie keeps improving.
  2. I heard it was his elbow
  3. Any "insiders" heard anything about who Travis Ford is considering for his staff?
  4. It was a joke. I said it. Was just continuing the Platt jokes. Sorry Old Guy. Ford doesn't want Jim Splatt.

  6. Can you take somebody's name that used it already, but hence has a new screen name? That could be interesting.
  7. Good luck, Milik! Great job on the goodbye tweet! I hope you do well with your new team.
  8. Backhand is MIA. I certainly hope he hasn't found another team to juice up. I mean bulk up.
  9. Absurd Bills Fan, it was a joke. Hence, the smiley face.
  10. We should ban all people who change their username. It's misleading, unethical, and not necessary.
  11. I am pretty jacked up about this hire. I'm not sure how far he will take us, but I think he will always give us reasons to get excited.
  12. Ford: "I'd like to announce my first hire, Associate Head Coach - Jim Platt."
  13. Backhand hasn't really weighed in on all of this. I too hope he gets involved with the team this summer to beef them up.
  14. I think you'll come around Moy. We need you. We need you.
  15. Can't wait for a fresh start. Welcome, Coach Ford! This will make the offseason so much more exciting.
  16. This situation really could get worse. If this falls through with Ford, and Drew had no intention of coming here, this could get real interesting.
  17. It's great to say we should have gone after this coach or that coach, but just because a good coach or assistant coach is out there it doesn't mean they have any interest in coaching here regardless of the money and other things. I wonder how much the city plays into any of this? It's one thing to say it would be a real boost to SLU since the Rams left, but many nationally think it was a huge blunder by St. Louis. Also, St. Louis hasn't been painted in the best light the last couple of years. Many outsiders think things are way different here than they really are.
  18. I'm disappointed in the hire only because of my own expectations. I shouldn't have had high expectations. I keep reminding myself of the tagline: it's not easy being a Billiken fan. This tagline rings so true once again. We're a not a high end basketball program. We want to be, but we're not. The hiring of Majerus was an anomaly that brainwashed us all to thinking that we were a higher end program than we really are. Crews brought up back to reality. However, we can still build the program and can do it with Travis Ford. It doesn't mean we can build a strong program overnight with him, but I do believe he can move the program forward for now. We don't need him to take us to the Elite 8, but we do need him to bring this train back on track. If he can bring in some solid recruits that have great potential, things can start changing and heading in the right direction. The key will be for SLU to know when to cut ties and bring in a new coach that takes us to a higher level than Ford took us. I'm just not confident SLU will handle the post-Ford phase correctly. For now, I guess I have to wait and hope Ford will do his part - get us to tourney within 2-3 years and then make the tourney consistently for a couple more years. Then, bring in another Coach who can bring us at least to the Sweet 16 and beyond.
  19. Far and away the funniest thread since this Board was created many years ago. Thanks fellow board members!
  20. I actually did earlier in the thread.
  21. I would caution people that insiders from the athletic department had no idea that Majerus was going to be hired and some of them even reached out to others saying it was a couple other coaches that they were close to making a deal with. My point is that sometimes the short list of people that have inside knowledge of what's actually going to happen is VERY short. AD's realize that there will almost always be leaks and sometimes a leak has no consequences and other times it can cause real problems. What certain staff members believe is going to happen, often times doesn't happen. In regards to volfan, I think he probably does have inside information. However, we won't know how accurate that info really is though. He should not be discounted and personally I am grateful for his information. I can also confirm Martin Ingelsby has interviewed and inside sources from ND say he is interested. However, being interviewed and showing interest doesn't always make the deal final.
