Agreed - a split would have made all of us happy going into that game.

First, I never said he had what Thatch had I said he has something similar. Second, the end result is basically the same as it applies to his playing - short stints with a recurring of cramping. -

The copyright law does allow you to pull a small amount from another piece without violating the law. As long as you note where it came from should not be a problem. -
I am not sure all government employees are automatically in a pension program. In Missouri for example they have several different pensions with their own rules so I could see the Legislature exempting some from having to pay into a plan. Of course that would only apply to public universities not private. In fact, it may actually work against them if they have to pay a % to the plan but private schools don't. I would think players and even some coaches would eventually want to be exempted.
-
Did you mean Anya?
-
Correct but the discussion was about public institutions.
-
If Schertz really does play a short bench as some have pointed out. The bench production is not that important. They are primarily there to provide a breather and keep the score the same. Do no harm is their motto.
-
Agreed- all that is public record. You can get the salary of any public employee no matter if they work for the state or not
-
I agree we played good defense for the first time. I do think that the team had a light bulb go off in the GC loss. Teams do this when they are trying to gel - it takes time and the injuries hurt the process but now maybe we are starting to get it.
-
Don't states have some kind of law that limits what a public employee can make? Seems I have heard to get a coach they have to find other ways to pay him other than salary. So, won't this apply to players?
-
Isn't VCU a public school? I would think the state legislature would have to approve that?
-
It doesn't. His point was that he does not want to play Quad 2 and 3 games because of how the NET works. I was not referring to improving revenue just the schedule overall.
-
Well if Shertz is right that his plan is schedule Quad 1 and 4 games basically then we get our Quad 1 games from our preseason tourney and the Quad 4 games are not an issue to schedule
-
I see the point of saying foul him and we give them a PF and maybe he hits one but if he passes to someone then maybe we get 2 or 3 points. In a close game the points are everything.

We have a couple guys who are very poor FT shooters and they seem to get to the line a lot ergo the numbers will be skewed

If they still do what they did a few years ago then they get a half schollie -
Shertz said that he should have got him in earlier

Not saying that it was goal tending. Once the whistle blows nobody knows what could have happened that is my only point as well as I am simply trying to point out that this situation in any game is not fair.
-
Losses have many fathers. You can point to the non-box out but let's revisit the overturned goal tending call. If that call stands we win the game or at least the last minute looks a lot different. When the refs call goal tending and then overturn it at the next time out it has a big impact on the game. Not only do you lose two points but it is in essence a turn over. You lose possession and the opportunity to even get the rebound. I am sorry but this rule is not fair. Refs make all kinds of calls that are not reviewable, and we are stuck living with it. Now if you want to review the goal tending call do it right away and if it is overturned, give the ball back to the team who was shooting with the time left on the clock at the time the refs blew the whistle.
-
I get that but you can't review a travel call either. Call it or not but the call either way should stand.
-
You may be correct but that still seems unfair to me. Reminds me of hockey where they call a goal back when the offsides was a long time before the goal is scored.
-
I hate that - to take the points away minutes later makes no sense to me. Maybe you could have gotten the rebound and then score.
